...The TR7, how i loved driving that car. a two seater (like most other TR's) that lets you get the feel of driving a ferrari but without the immense amount of money needed to buy a ferrari, and a lot less engine power. You sit low to the road in a comfortable 'sporty' style. The steering wheel is excelently positioned. The 2 litr engine is more than adequate in this classic car. Although it was met with some amount of ridicule when it was first released, it is now one of the most sought after 'old' cars around. Great to drive, you really get to grips with the road. Handling is superb and response from the wheels/engine is great. You must ensure that you service the engine regularly and keep a particular eye on the radiator water levels. ...I bought a 1982 registered (X-reg) Triumph TR7 as an 18 year old lad who had just started his first job. Why? Well, I walked past a garage in Lowestoft, Suffolk one day and fell in love with her at once. Despite everyone telling me what a bad idea it was, and that the car was expensive, costly to run, high on insurance and likely to be unreliable, I ignored all advice and parted with the £2000 the dealer was asking for. I didn't even bother to haggle with the price - I wanted her so much! She was white with alloy wheels, a 2.0 litre engine which purred like a kitten, and was the drop-head coupe (with a roll-back vinyl roof). Of course the Capri was quite good because, despite being a great performance car, it wasn't actually flash enough to blow their undercover work unlike, say, Starsky's car or KITT. Saying that, it still didn't have the impact of the cars out of the Yank telly shows. Special features: Makes Bodie and Doyle look better than they really are. 2. ...and driving is to convince them that they have a very good chance of being prosecuted and losing their driving licence. At present there is too much confidence that a drunk driver will not be caught. We all need our cars so much that losing a licence could mean losing your job and would make life much more difficult. This must be a real threat. I know that giving the power to the police to stop any driver will mean that innocent people will be stopped and breathalysed, I think this is small price to pay. When I was younger I had a sports car (TR7) and was often out in the early hours of the morning, this obviously attracted the attention of the police and on three occasions I was stopped and breathalysed. On each occasion the police had to think of a reason why they had stopped me and this is silly when all they really wanted to know... Read review

...Tony Pond was one of Britain's foremost rally drivers in the 70s and 80s, in such cars as the TR7 and Metro 6R4. Although he never actually won a championship event, he came third in the RAC rally and won many international events. He also circuit raced successfully, competing in a Rover SD1 in the European Touring Car championship. This association with Rover continued after he retired, and led to his attempt in 1990 to lap the world famous TT motorcycle circuit on the Isle of Man, at an average of over 100 mph in a Rover 800 Vitesse. This video is the in-car footage of that attempt. The production values of the video come across as slightly amateurish, most notably in the cheesy commentary, and blatant plugging of Rover and Shell. ...fags each. We were so grown up walking round the shops in the afternoon knocking back the sherry and smoking. That’s until around 6ish when my friend decided to throw up, and covered the path with sweet corn and sherry. I was the one that was left with her as the other 2 had run off. I went to the hospital with her in the ambulance. When we got there they left me and her alone in the room for 2 minutes, so me trying to save ourselves told her to tell them she had drunk cider, HA the nurse walked in as I was saying it and said “cider is much worse than sherry young lady” so I changed my story. Thankfully they didn’t have to pump her stomach as she had brought everything and the kitchen sink up. Her mother came for her in her TR7, so no lift for me. ...Newquay Arms, Newquay, Cornwall, TR7 1JF. Near Woolies and opposite HSBC Bank. On passing the Newquay Arms the menu and meal deals look good/tempting. Two for one deals for £5-6, with pictures, are displayed in the window looking appealing, but when you see other food offerings in the same part of town you could probably have a better/cheaper choice elsewhere. I suspect these are frozen/nuked on demand. Although I haven't actually eaten there. I'd advise you choose the beer garden to eat in as the interior of this pub is very old, dated, dark and quite grim and unwelcoming. Whereas other bars in Newquay have spent a lot of money/effort in revamping/redecorating/updating, the Newquay Arms hasn't. It's a great pub for including on a pub crawl, but don't plan it for your final destination. The interior is quite sparsely... Read review

...images with this review so you can have a good look for yourselves, but let’s just say that it’s every bit as distinctive in appearance as its little brother, the Four-Two. If the Four-Two is a ‘shoebox on wheels’ (as I described it in my review) then the Smart Roadster is a ‘motorised skateboard’. It reminded me of a sort of retro-style, somewhat shrunken sports car, with overtones of the old Austin Healey “frog-eye” Sprite, and just a dash of the old Triumph TR7 thrown in for good measure. Whatever, it certainly fits well into the old two-seater tradition of providing a fun motoring experience, with the absolute minimum of practicality! The tiny 698cc engine practically hangs off the back of the car, leaving just the smallest of parcel shelves behind the two seats. With a bit of luck you might just about manage to fit in a couple...
