Beware of "Strangers on a Train"

Advantages: Fabulous story, fabulous atmosphere and fabulous acting
Disadvantages: A very few irksome things but neglible

...Alfred Hitchcock?s Strangers on a Train - excellent movie! I could leave it that but of course I won?t. I?d had this 2 disk special edition in my DVD collection for a while before I got around to watching it. I really should have watched it as soon as I bought it. Not that I need an excuse to watch it all over again. There is no law that says you have to wait any given period of time before you can watch a film that you enjoyed all over again! Review of Strangers On A Train (Special Edition) (DVD)

In the night garden ninky nonk train set

Advantages: strong, versatile, compact, nice bright colours, fun to play with
Disadvantages: none so far

...I decided to buy the in the night garden ninky nonk train set from Amazon as my young daughter is a big fan of in the night garden and whenever it comes on TV she gets really excited. So as my daughter already had some of the other characters from the show I wanted her to have the whole set and since buying it the train set the ninky nonk train set has become one of her favourite toys to play with on a daily basis. The train set can come apart and be attached on many different ways and my daughter enjoys looking at the nice bright colours and putting some of the other in the night garden characters onto the train set even though it keeps falling of now and again it keeps her busy and sometimes I hear her in fits of giggles. The train set is very cute and versatile and its great as children such as mine can have hours of fun with it...

Advantages: Absolutely NONE
Disadvantages: Exepensive, unreliable, filthy

...I'm not surprised to see that no-one else has good things to say about south west trains. I regularly communte from Camberley to Richmond and I used to brave the train but I find driving there must more comfortable, despite the boredom of sitting in traffic jams on the M3. Are all their stations as grim as the ones that I see? The facilities are generally limited (no news kiosk) and the stations are grimy. Then you have the joy of waiting for your train - you could be waiting some time. Generally in the morning I find the first train isn't too bad although they do seem to suffer from staff shortages regularly - trains are cancelled far too often due to waiting for train staff. You also have to queue for ages to get your ticket - the automatic machines never work when there is a queue. When your train pulls in you'll be in...

Are you a train Virgin?

Advantages: fast, few delays
Disadvantages: occasional delays, cost if booked late

...It's coming up for the party season again so I have recently spent rather a lot of time making travel arrangements, one method of travel I seem to utilise rather alot these days comes in the shape of the West Coast Mainline, between Manchester/Stockport and London Euston, while in a previous life time I was very familiar with the Manchester/Edinburgh section of this same line, this route is operated by Virgin Trains and has been for several years. Thankfully these days the booking process is somewhat easier than it used to be, having to go in to the train station to book tickets I always found a somewhat draining experience as there was invariably a queue of people apparently wanting to purchase tickets for the next train due and only one counter open, now you can book online at one of several sites, my preference is virgins own, but...

Train your eyes?

Advantages: Fun to do and does help with some skills
Disadvantages: Would probably get a bit repetitive over time

...Having recently bought a Nintendo DS and enjoyed the Brain Training I was intrigued when I saw the new Sight Training for DS on sale in my local supermarket. Ever curious (and being keen to retain as many of my faculties as possible) I decided to buy it and see what it offered. Intially this product seemed quite similar in format to the Brain Training package I already had however I was pleased to see that it didn't have the rather irritating Dr Kawashima but seemed to offer something slightly more serious. The aim of the package is to offer the opportunity to train your 'vision' and alongside that there is the facility to test your eyesight and work out your 'Eye Age'. Rather interestingly the tests you get to perform are actually based on your 'Eye Age' so it is suggested that you check this something like three times a week...

Train Your Sight with Nintendo DS Sight Training!

Advantages: a good cheap game to play!
Disadvantages: Each days training is a ltitle short.

...I got my DS a couple of Christmas' ago, and with it I got the Dr Kowashima Brain Training, the game is great, and although you never complete it in that the game ends and you can go no further without starting again, there are only a few of the little games on there, and it gets that way that your only using the game for half an hour each day. So when I saw a new game called Sight Training, with the same kind of packaging and design, I really wanted it. The game isn't by Dr Kawashima but has very very similar packaging as to make it look as though it is, whether it is made by the same company but not endorsed by the same "Dr Kawashima" I don't know, but it is much like the original Brain Training game in the way the packaging looks, and even the way the game is set out and played. Advantages: Terrific acting, great plot, dark, compelling but intelligent

What a great training company

Advantages: Good courses, materials, people and location
Disadvantages: Haven't found any yet!

...I work in IT and have experienced several training providers over the years, but the best I have ever been to is Quanta Training in Worcester, UK. They offer a wide range of courses - Unix to ASP, Oracle to SQL Server. They are well presented, the premises, training materials and tutors are very, very good indeed. I have been to about four courses with them - ranging from 5 days to one day - each has been really helpful. What I like about this company is that the courses do lead to certification by Microsoft (if you want) and they are open and friendly. The receptionist is a star - and there is always tea, coffee, biscuits and toast on the go! Lunches are provided at the local restaurant just down the road and are very tasty and are included in the price (of course)... If you are staying there are plenty of places to stay...

A Train Crash of a Film

Disadvantages: poor acting, blatant copying of plot, shall I go on?
