Transcend - buy over Sandisk!
Review of Transcend TS8GSDHC Secure Digital 8192 MB by
technosplat
Advantages: Very fast transfer rate, strong, looks good, smells pretty, cheap
Disadvantages: None
...I am very impressed!
After recently upgrading from my Canon 350D to 450D I needed a high capacity, fast memory card as the 450 takes SD (secure digital) not CF (compact flash) as the 350 does.
As a professional photographer it's vital that I have the best kit I can afford. I was a little worried about buying Transcend over Sandisk, but with such a huge financial saving I thought I'd give Transcend a go. I'm very glad I did!
The Transcend 8Gb SDHC (secure digital high capacity) memory card performs excellently - trandfer speeds are very very good. It's rated at 'speed 6', the same as the most expensive Sandisk Ultra cards selling for over twice the price.
One thing to mention - SDHC cards cannot be read by all memory card readers - generall only the newer ones will read SD cards over 2Gb.
I would highly recommend this card...

transcend is as good as other manufacturers
Review of Transcend 2 GB SD Card 150x by
FirstToTry
Advantages: fast, value for money, vista readyboost compatible
Disadvantages: none
...The 2Gb SD card from Transcend should be your first choice, often looked at as inferior to kingston and other manufactures however the performance of the card is the same and by comparing the prices you get more for what you pay.
Fast transmission from card to pc and large capacity; with a 6 megapixel camera which is standard these days you can store around 600-700 pictures which is more than enough for a whole holiday.
You can also use the sd card for vista's readyboost function - simply insert the card in a slot (or card reader) and if you are not automatically promted/given choice what to do next, go to my computer and right click on the sd card icon. choose property and then navigate to the readyboost tab, where you can choose how much memory you want to make available to readyboost.
What is readyboost? It is a feature within...

Review of Transcend Compactflash CF 1 GB 1000 MB by
malekowie
Advantages: inexpensive and fast memory card
Disadvantages: unnown in the UK brand
...amazingly unnoticeable. 100 photos and the speed the same, 200 - speed the same, 250 - oops, memory full! Yes, it takes up to 250 best quality images, good number even for advanced amateurs.
Time to upload photograph to the computer, this is real test. Connected the camera to my computer and … surprise again, downloading speed was enormous, faster that I ever though. The producer claims the speed is x 45, for me it more than enough.
The card is compatible with all Compact Flash standards. It contains built-in dynamic defect management and error correction technology. Its working temperature range is exceptional: - 40C to + 85C (-40F to 185F), and the warranty is 5 years. Warranty card and web address included with some more info about other product by Transcend and how to register you product via internet.
For that kind of memory card I...

Thanks for the memory, but no thanks
Review of Logic 3 Memory Card 123 - flash memory module - 8 MB by
Rabid
Advantages: Cheap
Disadvantages: Loss of important game data
...When i first bought my Nintendo Gamecube i picked up two games and the logic 3 123 block (8 meg) memory card at the same time.
After just two days of using this memory card i discovered that it had a tendancy to lose my saved games which annoyed me beyond words, so i took it back to my local 'Game' and they offered me an identical replacement without any arguments whatsoever (which surprised me a little but i was happy)
Again to my horror after only 2-3 days of use i experienced major problems with this memory card, this time however the replacement memory card would display a 'corrupt data' message telling me that i needed to format the card in order to continue using it, this ofcourse meant that i would lose all my saved games and hi-scores!!
You can appreciate my annoyance at this so i again took the memory card back to my...

Guide to Digital Camera Storage Cards
Review of SanDisk Flash memory by
Morgenhund
Advantages: cheapest memory solution, compatible with MicroDrive, non-proprietary (unlike MemoryStick)
Disadvantages: usually supplied compact flash cards are never big enough...
...This op might seem slightly off topic, as I intend to compare all the various formats of storage media on the market, rather than purely concentrating on compactflash cards (and not just Memorex ones either). Along with the number of megapixels your digital camera has, the single most important factor in deciding which camera to buy has to be storage media for the camera. Now admittedly the manufacturers always give you a very stingy storage card, in my card a 3.3 MegaPixel Minolta Dimage 5 was delivered with only a 16 Mb Sandisk CompactFlash card, which is not even bigger enough to house a maximum resolution RAW image file (ca. 18Mb).
I had also hoped to include a definitive list of which manufacturer uses what, but that is not such as an easy task, as with the exception of Sony, using their proprietary Memory Stick memory, most...

A drive that will last a lifetime!
Review of Transcend JetFlash V10 - USB flash drive - 8 GB by
shaaza
Advantages: very fast, very secure, very small, comes with a neck strap, has a lifetime warranty
Disadvantages: uumm doesn't come in many colours
...I bought this 8GB Transcend Jet flash V10 a few days after the New Year. As you know I'm the sort of person who likes to walk around with lots of memory around me as I got loads of junk to keep.
With the January sales flying around I had to walk around the shops and surf the net looking for real bargains. That's when I came across the 8GB Transcend Flash Drive for only £24.99 on Moby memory website, which is an internet shop that's sells a lot of gadgets mainly to do with mobiles and digital cameras. I did not stop their, I quickly added my 8GB Transcend Flash Drive to the basket and checked out, although I had to pay extra money for the delivery which was rather cheap.
I really did not want to miss the chance of buying this 8GB Transcend V10 Flash Drive for the reason that I knew it would keep thousands of files including all...
