Mondeo 2.5 Ghia X Estate
Review of Ford Mondeo 2.5 V6 by
Neil456
Advantages: Comfortable, fast and reliable
Disadvantages: Fuel consumption
...The Mondeo 2.5 Ghia X is a really good car - if only it had a BMW badge on the boot then it would get the recognition it derves.
Okay, so the 2.5 drinks petrol like it's going out of fashion - but you know that when you buy a 2.5! The engine is smooth and powerful, but does like revs. It'll just about beat 60mph in second gear which makes for great overtaking. The handling is good for such a large estate car; it's no sports car but it is sure footed and consistent.
The boot is huge, particularly with the seats down. The interior is roomy all round and there's plenty of gadgets to play with. Mine had SatNav which was good when it was working - two units were replaced under warranty until the dealer realised that the problem was with the aerial...
Ford dealers don't seem to be any better or any worse than the rest...

Jaguar 2.5 SE 4WD
Review of Jaguar X-Type 2.5 by
Barbarossa
Advantages: luxury, smmothness, stunning looks, power, comfort, space, driving pleasure
Disadvantages: small glove box, low mpg on urban cycle.
...My wife spotted the Jag on a day trip to Manchester. It was for sale outside some flash offices and we had a look at it as the price - £7995 in May 2008 - was very tempting and well within our budget.
She fell in love with it right away. It is a 2.5 SE 4wd in metallic light blue and has the very light tan leather trim - absolutely gorgeous hardly does it justice !!!
The owner saw us looking at it and came out to talk to us. He was getting a Lexus the folowing Sunday so wanted shut asap.
He was a real gent - one of the old school - and so we arranged a test drive the following day as we both had no time to spare there and then.
It was superb to drive - I had borrowed a similar one some 6yrs ago and this one seemed even better.
2 owners from new, FSH and utterly, utterly immaculate. The only faults being a steering wheel wobble...

Subaru Legacy 2.5i SE Tourer (estate) 2004 model
Review of Subaru Legacy 2.5 Estate by
RICHADA
Advantages: Original, refined, handling and ride, reliability, dealers
Disadvantages: Highish CO2 rating
...as tough as old boots, a proper car.
Now, finally, with apologies to those amongst you bored with the preamble, to the subject of this review: the latest SUBARU LEGACY 2.5 SE TOURER.
It shares very much the same ingredients with the original "moors" car and the one driven several years ago, but GM (owners of this slightly eccentric Japanese marque) have applied the top gloss in terms of fit and finish and perceived quality. Indeed the old grey "tweed" upholstery has been replaced by superb half leather / alcantara, the dashboard is now attractive to look at - if a little "Eurobland" with its aluminium strips and flaps over the stereo.
The car that we drove also had a huge panoramic sun roof which split in the middle. Personally I would have done without this particular option as all it served to do was create extra wind noise...

Jeep 2.5 sport, not very sporty at all
Review of Jeep Cherokee 2.5 TD by
tubbynuts
Advantages: Spacious, performs functions.
Disadvantages: Not sporty, uncomfortable on long drives, no fun to drive
...The need for a 4*4 jeep type car/jeep was required for the movement of my 12 stone dog and for work, and was to become a second car. I picked the Jeep Cherokee as I liked the styling. After looking at all the models available I decided that the 2.5 litre petrol model would prove the most cost efficient, even over the diesel 4.0 litre model.
After searching for the desired 2.5 litre model, which was lead to believe are fairly hard to come by I found one reasonable priced at £12500 for a clean, tidy, 1998 car.
At first I was pleased with the Jeep as it served its purpose without any question. with the rear seats down I was able to transport many items of furniture in the rear, eg chest of draws with ease. Also the roof rack came in very handy. With the rear seats up and the dog guard in place the boot gives ample room for a 12...

1996 (P) 2.5 V6 CDX Auto Saloon
Review of Vectra 2.5V6 CDX by
md-uk
Advantages: power, comfy cruiser, space
Disadvantages: fuel consumption, electrical problems
...What a car!
Bought this year for £2495.00 This car cost over £23000 when new! who said buying second hand wasn't a good idea.
Okay so i've got a 1996 P- reg with just over 100k miles on the clock. It's got a fairly good service history.
This is the top-of-the range model with every conceivable extra included. The next bit may sound like an advert in the paper so apologies for that, but I want to try to get across just how much kit they include on this car.
PAS, ABS, Traction Control, Cruise Control, Electronic Climate Control, Front & Rear Elec Windows, Heated Elec Mirrors, Elec Sunroof, CD changer, Traficmaster(*1), Full Leather Interior, Heated Front Seats, Alloy Wheels, Front Fog Lights, Multi-function Display(*2), Illuminated Vanity mirrors on the sun visors, Kerb lights on all 4 doors, 5 separate interior lights...

Land Rover Discovery 2.5TDi 2003
Review of Land Rover Discovery 2.5 Td5 by
awb714
Advantages: Built like a brick **** house
Disadvantages: Badly designed instrument layout
...I have owned a Discovery 2.5TDi from new since 2003 and consider now that I have enough experience to comment fairly on it.
Good points
1. Excellent work horse. Can tow all day without noticing the load
2. Very comfortable and excellent seat movement
3. Makes you feel safe and secure
Bad points
1. Very poorly designed dashboard layout. Most displays hidden by the steering wheel
2. Very badly positioned switches for electronic seat controls. You have to have needle thin hands and be a contortionist to use them
3. Poor electrics (especially the sun roof which has a mind of its own). and the worlds worst SAT Nav. You can buy a top of the range Garmin for less than the disc upgrade.
Despite this we love it warts and all....

Apple MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo 2.5 GHz - 17" TFT
Review of Apple MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo 2.5 GHz - 17" TFT by
pieceofmind
Advantages: nice screen, good battery life, fast specs
Disadvantages: large size (price?)
...Apple mac-books, where to start...
ok, so to start,
it is an apple, that means you get a solid quality product and on the whole very good customer are.
this particualar apple is deffinatly more suited to being a media center than other laptops. At first glance you realise that it is a fairly large laptop, this allows for a big screen, which being an apple ffers clear vivid displays, unfortunatly the big screen increases the overal size and also uses more battery, however, the 4.5 | | |
