transcend is as good as other manufacturers
Review of Transcend 2 GB SD Card 150x by
FirstToTry
Advantages: fast, value for money, vista readyboost compatible
Disadvantages: none
...The 2Gb SD card from Transcend should be your first choice, often looked at as inferior to kingston and other manufactures however the performance of the card is the same and by comparing the prices you get more for what you pay.
Fast transmission from card to pc and large capacity; with a 6 megapixel camera which is standard these days you can store around 600-700 pictures which is more than enough for a whole holiday.
You can also use the sd card for vista's readyboost function - simply insert the card in a slot (or card reader) and if you are not automatically promted/given choice what to do next, go to my computer and right click on the sd card icon. choose property and then navigate to the readyboost tab, where you can choose how much memory you want to make available to readyboost.
What is readyboost? It is a feature within...

Transcend - buy over Sandisk!
Review of Transcend TS8GSDHC Secure Digital 8192 MB by
technosplat
Advantages: Very fast transfer rate, strong, looks good, smells pretty, cheap
Disadvantages: None
...I am very impressed!
After recently upgrading from my Canon 350D to 450D I needed a high capacity, fast memory card as the 450 takes SD (secure digital) not CF (compact flash) as the 350 does.
As a professional photographer it's vital that I have the best kit I can afford. I was a little worried about buying Transcend over Sandisk, but with such a huge financial saving I thought I'd give Transcend a go. I'm very glad I did!
The Transcend 8Gb SDHC (secure digital high capacity) memory card performs excellently - trandfer speeds are very very good. It's rated at 'speed 6', the same as the most expensive Sandisk Ultra cards selling for over twice the price.
One thing to mention - SDHC cards cannot be read by all memory card readers - generall only the newer ones will read SD cards over 2Gb.
I would highly recommend this card...

Credit card-sized storage for memory and sim cards
Review of Proporta Aluminium Memory/SIM Card Holder by
afro_geoffro
Advantages: Lightweight, slim, beautiful design, great value for money
Disadvantages: possibly bend cards if stored for long periods of time (untested)
...I previously carried a small USB key on my keyring as my portable memory solution. But I found that more and more, I was having to transfer information from either a PDA or digital camera, and a USB key just didn't work for this.
So I found the solution in the SanDisk SD Plus memory card - it is the size of a normal SD memory card, but also folds in half to reveal a USB adapter which can be plugged into any USB port. Brilliant solution, except that they aren't very sturdy. I was worried about the card breaking in my wallet, so I needed something to protect it.
This is where the Aluminium Memory Card Holder from Proporta comes in. It is the same length and width as a standard credit card (85mm x 54mm), and is only 4mm thick (about as thick as 3 credit cards sitting on top of each other). It is very light as well, weighing...

ps2 memory cards
Review of Sony Memory CARD PS2 8 2 PACK 8 by
zitzong
Advantages: store game data fast to memory cards, small and slim design
Disadvantages: can't save game data to any other format
...The playstation 2 console and also the playstation 1 console accept small devices that store data called Memory Cards. For the Playstation 2 console the memory card is a small rectangle plastic card that can hold up to 8MB of game data. The data is usually saved game files. Information that is stored in the game files is information such as position in game, completion percentage and things like that. A memory card is a crucial device for the playstation 2, because without it you could not keep any records of where you are up to in the game. This is because the Playstation 2 console uses CDs (Compact Discs) and DVD (Digital Versatile Discs) to store games on; CDs and DVD have no means of changing data on them, they only permit read only access.
The good thing about the PS2 memory cards is that they are small and compact...

Official Gamecube Memory Card..
Review of Nintendo Official GameCube Memory Card by
Fethroesforia
Advantages: Official, Guaranteed to work with all games
Disadvantages: Rather expensive price tag compared to cheaper memory cards
...My only memory card which still works. Having had many Venom memory cards and various other third party memory cards, whcih get both corrupted and easily snapped, my official nintendo memory card that I have had for 4 years has had no problems at all, despite being extremely light in weight.
My official memory card has been used to save many different games, totalling over 50 different gamecube titles including imports. The official memory card has had no compatiability issues with any of my games. It has withstood time and force of being hit occasionally, as is usual for official nintendo products, it is extremely robust.
Also attractive and small in size, especially compared to other more vulgar looking memory cards, it is hard to criticize it. Its price of £13 brand new may lead potential buyers to purchase cheaper, third party...

my external memory
Review of Transcend Compactflash CF 1 GB 1000 MB by
malekowie
Advantages: inexpensive and fast memory card
Disadvantages: unnown in the UK brand
...amazingly unnoticeable. 100 photos and the speed the same, 200 - speed the same, 250 - oops, memory full! Yes, it takes up to 250 best quality images, good number even for advanced amateurs.
Time to upload photograph to the computer, this is real test. Connected the camera to my computer and … surprise again, downloading speed was enormous, faster that I ever though. The producer claims the speed is x 45, for me it more than enough.
The card is compatible with all Compact Flash standards. It contains built-in dynamic defect management and error correction technology. Its working temperature range is exceptional: - 40C to + 85C (-40F to 185F), and the warranty is 5 years. Warranty card and web address included with some more info about other product by Transcend and how to register you product via internet.
For that kind of memory card I...

PS2 MEMORY CARD NOT DC VMU
Review of Dreamcast Virtual Memory by
D1A1UK
Advantages: Great capacity
Disadvantages: Expensive at first
...Sorry, but I couldn't be bothered to wait a month for the PS2 accessories to be submitted - so I'll sneak it on here in the Dc VMU place, seeing as no one has an opinion on it! THIS IS THE PS2 OFFICIAL SONY MEMORY CARD!!!!
Playstation 2: The memory card. How’s that for a dramatic opening? Well if you weren’t impressed, try imagining an advert that has nothing to do with a Playstation 2, a screeching voice ‘Playstation 2’ and then the traditional deep voiced cinema person saying ‘Playstation 2: The memory card’. Still hasn’t worked? Why would it? What is so special about a memory card anyway, and why would it need such a grand opening?
Well, nearly everything about the Playstation 2 has been over-hyped, literally almost to the death – some games are just so poor! And with exception...

Thanks for the memory, but no thanks
Review of Logic 3 Memory Card 123 - flash memory module - 8 MB by
Rabid
Advantages: Cheap
Disadvantages: Loss of important game data
...When i first bought my Nintendo Gamecube i picked up two games and the logic 3 123 block (8 meg) memory card at the same time.
After just two days of using this memory card i discovered that it had a tendancy to lose my saved games which annoyed me beyond words, so i took it back to my local 'Game' and they offered me an identical replacement without any arguments whatsoever (which surprised me a little but i was happy)
Again to my horror after only 2-3 days of use i experienced major problems with this memory card, this time however the replacement memory card would display a 'corrupt data' message telling me that i needed to format the card in order to continue using it, this ofcourse meant that i would lose all my saved games and hi-scores!!
You can appreciate my annoyance at this so i again took the memory card back to my...

Not really exciting, but a brilliant memory card
Review of Sandisk Secure Digital CARD 2048 MB by
jonwebb5
Advantages: Lots of storage space, completely reliable, great connectivity, dirt cheap
Disadvantages: None
...Of all the products you can buy over the internet, memory cards are about the dullest you can find. There really isn't a whole lot to get excited about. In fact, the ideal memory card would be one you could just slot into the camera and forget about. And this one does that perfectly.
Sandisk are widely recognised as the leading manufacturer with regards to memory cards, and their SD cards are particuarly good. This is one of, if not the, largest Secure Digital card Sandisk sell, and it works perfectly. The card is as reliable as a wood burning stone - it never fails, just keeps ticking away in the background, doing it's job. In fact, you hardly ever need to pay it any attention. It doesn't encounter difficulties with anything, be it technical faults or connectivity, taking it all in it's stride, and with so much memory, you can snap...
