Transformers movie
Review of Transformers DVD by
dingoo
Advantages: thrilling, pleasing fun, easy viewing, good story, all the family
Disadvantages: nothing realy, unless you look extremely hard, then you may miss the mistakes
...Wow what can you say; this is a brilliant movie, and this coming from a fervent follower of the transformers.
At 31 years of age I am the prime age (pardon the pun) to enjoy this comeback for the autobots and the decepticons.
This film has been produced in a manor fitting the huge following the transformers have.
I have spent the last year buying generation 1 toys I never had as a youngster.
Back to the film though, the fact Optimus prime is a bull nosed truck was easier to take then expected, you also think how can they have made the film with the original cars and trucks when they would be 20 years out of date.
This taken they do look magnificent, the story line lends itself well to the history of the transformers and not going of on a tangent makes for good viewing.
Regardless of this you can see why it wouldn’t...

DBZKing
Advantages: good film | its the transformers | great battles | great music | keeps you entertained
Disadvantages: Its getting a bit old
...This review is about The Transformers: The Movie, I will give information about everything about Transformers the Movie, and hopefully some background on the episodes so you know the movie better. So here I go, about to start the review...
The Transformers, are these robots that can transform into a vehicle, there are 2 different races, Autobots, and the Decepticons, they are 2 races trying to destroy each other. The Decepticons are the evil ones, and the Autobots are the good ones. It is a robot bruel. There are loads of Transformers, not all of them like to fight, but they must to defend themselves. You have some Transformers that have loads of different uses, like Perceptor (voice of Paul Eiding), who can transform into a telescope. There are loads that can do things like this, but they all have different uses. There is this one...

Transformers- Best film i've seen in years!
Review of Transformers - The Movie (Animated) by
piggypine
Advantages: Brilliant movie, great effects!
Disadvantages: Hardcore fans mightnot appreaciate changes to characters appearances
...disappointed, in fact I loved it so much I couldn't possibly wait until the DVD release to review the movie.
A Little Background-
There are going to be many people who have never seen Transformers in either cartoon, toy or movie form, it was a hugely successful 1980's cartoon and toy line which has now reached cult status. The Transformers are alien life forms in the form of robots, they are able to transform into different forms usually vehicles. The Transformers are split into two factions "Autobots" are the side fighting to protect the innocent, the "Decepticons" are the evil side determined to wipe out the Autobots and any other beings who stand in their way. Optimus Prime is the leader of the Autobots while Megatron leads the Decepticons, the battles between the two are legendary and the characters are what held the show together...

Transformers - A Good Film In Disguise
Review of Transformers DVD by
robin_best
Advantages: The Transformers look superior to the original cartoon
Disadvantages: The Transformers are not the same as they used to be
...When I first heard that after all these years there was going to be a new Transformers movie, I could not help but remember all those hours I spent with my friends playing with our Transformers (yes I still have them). Now that I have seen the file I thought that I would review this film.
My very first impressions n this film was that the Transformers really did look excellent and they are a far cry from the original cartoon characters.
The plot of the film
The film begins with Optimus Prime (Peter Cullen, the original voice of Prime, a bonus point to have the original voice) explaining the destruction of Cybertron by Megatron, and his quest to obtain the All Spark. The All Spark is a cube that can create planets and fill them with life. Megatron discovers the All Spark on Earth.
The directions to find this cube are encoded onto...

Transform and Roll Out!
Review of Transformers DVD by
afy9mab
Advantages: A feast for the eyes that's brainless fun.
Disadvantages: Lots of plot holes and shaky characterisation.
..., replete with huge explosions, robot-on-robot smack-downs and senseless destruction and violence. So there's little chance to get bored. It often feels as though the flashy visuals are there to distract you from the lack of character development. But that's the nature of popcorn entertainment; disengage your brain and just let it wash over you and if that's all you're looking for, you won't be disappointed.
You can see every cent spent on developing the Transformers robots. The design of the robots is a master-class in how to animate CGI automata. For a start, they look the business; there are a range of textures and reflective qualities to the metals, right down to different paint effects such as metallic sparkles or matt brushed steel. The animation is fluid without being too slick and there's a good sense of weight and movement. The bots...

TRANSFORMERS - ROBOTS IN DISGUISE
Review of Transformers DVD by
floater
Advantages: GOOD FILM DOES JUSTICE TO THE COMIC BOOK AND IS OPEN TO A TRANSFORMERS 2
Disadvantages: THE SAME KIND OF BOY GIRL FALL IN LOVE GET CAUGHT UP IN CHEESY PARTS
...Having seen a couple of other recent releases I have to say this was one of the better films I've seen and deserved a review
The film is based on the comic/cartoons series from Marvel. The comic put emphasis on certain characters with different abilities who transform into cars, planes, dinosaurs and a whole host of vehicles, devices and creatures. The goodies are the autobots and the baddies are the decepticons The goodies are led by a truck that transforms into a robot called Optimus Prime and the baddies are led by Megatron a robot who was found years ago by the main character sams dad and is held in a secure area. The film is based around a boy called sam and the autobots send bumblebee as a car to protect him, there is some cool car chases early on in the film and then the autobots arrive and later the rest of the decepticons...

Transformers: The Movie (Ultimate Edition)
Review of Transformers - The Movie (Ultimate Edition) by
Itstar77
Advantages: Enjoyable Nostalgia
Disadvantages: No Extras
...This is the latest DVD release of the animated Transformers: the Movie. The film was released in cinemas in 1986 at the height of the Transformers popularity. If you grew up in the 80s and were a Transformers fan this film should bring back memories.
When it was released in cinemas, critics dismissed the film as a feature-length toy advert. I think that's a bit unfair though. While it is clear that the main purpose of the film was to introduce a new wave of Transformer toys, the story is entertaining and the quality of the animation is impressive. The film is much darker and more violent that the TV series. Perhaps your enjoyment of the film depends on whether you were a small child who enjoyed the TV series and cared about the characters or not. Plus how can you not love the extremely 80s soundtrack?
As for the DVD itself...

Transformers delivers in many forms
Review of Transformers DVD by
kidsam
Advantages: Escapism
Disadvantages: Cliche
...but at times cliché, not helped by the inclusion of what seem like almost action movie stock characters.
Visually the robots were handled with a hand of perfection, boasting spectacular C.G.I. transformations and exhilarating action sequences which had the audience dazzled throughout their frequent occurrences, although the attempt to give the robots disguisable personalities and their non convincing dialogue sometimes let them down.
The climax is a battle generous in length, imagination and special effects, which left viewers absorbed and feeling part of the amazing experience also being helped by the very suitably picked soundtrack....

TRANSFORM THE WORLD
Transformers is a good game, but it doesn't exactly deliver what was expected of it. Considering the movie and the way in which it attracted a large number of viewers, this game has lagged behind. It can boast of a visual beauty all around, and the graphics doesn't seem to disappoint yet again even if the PS2 version seems to look better. The transformation into the robots and back to the autmobiles is also well done, and so are the environment and the opponents. The city looks good and it feels great to simply race through it. With all the settings set to the maximum, provided the graphics card...
