Transporter 2: As enjoyable as the first!

Advantages: Great action sequences, great driving, Jason Statham!
Disadvantages: None

...My partner and I managed to catch the first Transporter movie when it was on the TV late one night, and I am glad that we did! It was a fast thrilling film, and the first time I had seen Jason Statham in a film. So when my mum said she had the second film in the franchise on DVD and did I want to borrow it, I said yes straight away, interested to see how it would differ to the first movie. So here goes my review of this movie. I actually watched it on my own, to which my borther exclaimed "But you're a girl". Well observed dear brother. But I do love my action movies, and I am bloomin' glad I watched this. Fast cars, an easy on the eye leading man and a bit of fighting thrown in makes good viewing me thinks. So to the film. Jason Statham reprises his role as Frank,a "transporter" meaning he is hired to help people transport goods...

Transported back to the golden age of action

Advantages: Fast paced, action filled, stunts galore, martial arts abound
Disadvantages: Little story and no great acting... but who cares :o)

...Transporter was a very minor hit in the cinemas but obviously made good money on the release of the DVD as the eponymous 'Transporter', played by Jason Statham, returns for a second bout of high octane action. My kind of Transport!

Advantages: Loads of action, sexy cars, great soundtrack
Disadvantages: None really!

...I absolutely loved this film!! I've been watching a lot of comedies lately but my friend bought me Transporter 2 for my birthday and thought I would watch it to make a change. I finished watching it about 15 minutes ago and had to come straight on here to tell you all about it!! This obviously is a sequel to the film The Transporter (hence the highly clever name Transporter 2!). Incase you haven't seen the first one and have no idea what I am talking about, The Transporter is Frank Martin played by Jason Statham (Revolver, Collateral, Mean Machine) and he is as the title suggests, a Transporter. He is paid to transport things from one place to another and the 'things' he is transporting are usually highly dangerous or something that somebody else wants and Frank therefore has to defend his life, and the 'thing' he is transporting...

Who transported the plot?

Advantages: Fast paced action scenes
Disadvantages: No plot

...I was interested in this film as it is based on an interesting premise, an ex-special forces man (aren't they all) operates as a 'Transporter' basically someone who'll carry and object, any distance, for a price. This could be getaway man, gun runner or basically anything else illegal. Frank Martin (Jason Statham) is making a very good living out of this in the south of France when he takes a job for Wall Street (Matt Schulze). He discovers his package is actually an Asian girl (Qi Shu) and he has been caught up in illegal slave trading. Cue the heroic and good hearted Frank kicking into action to save 400 slaves being brought into Marseilles. ...The South Yorkshire Transport Museum can be found at Aldwarke, near Rotherham in South Yorkshire. Until recently this Transport Museum was located in the former Tinsley Tram Sheds between Sheffield and Rotherham. I visited here about 4 years ago and it was then called the Sheffield Bus Museum. Now it has relocated, it has been given a new name, the South Yorkshire Transport Museum. The former Sheffield Bus Museum first opened its doors to the Public ten years ago, in 1997. In December 2006 this Museum closed, re-opening at its present location a few weeks ago, in the Spring of 2007. This Museum has a collection of Trams and Buses that were once in use in Sheffield and the surrounding area. All of these have been fully restored and are in pristine condition. A history of transport which failed to move me

Advantages: Great location, good gift shop, well-prepared but limited exhibits
Disadvantages: Quite small, limited range, expensive for adult travellers without children

...and appreciate what's on offer. The fact that we'd 'got through' in such a short space of time makes me think that: a) There wasn't really that much to see b) The exhibits failed to hold our attention Or perhaps a combination of the two? I can't help but feel that the museum is a nice idea, but that the range is somewhat limited. We've enjoyed other transport museums (Glasgow's, for example) considerably more and this felt like a bit of a let down. If I was a parent with 2 or 3 kids this place might seem like a draw, but if I was an adult who had paid the £10 admission fee I would have been somewhat disappointed and certainly wouldn't be making a return visit.
