Tinned Mexican trash

Advantages: Quick, easy, cheap and it's tinned
Disadvantages: Nasty smell, nasty tase, not spicy............all round bad

...store the ingredients, how to prepare the ingredients and the chore it was going to be to actually make the chilli caused me to break out in a cold sweat but my other half had other plans as she slipped a tin of canned chilli con carne in to the basket. I should have stuck to my guns and dug my heels in. After all I had refused to eat any chilli other than my own for years and here I was contemplating eating a processed version out of a tin can, but since we were on holiday I thought ?what the hey, when in Rome? and all that, and we proceeded to the checkout. It is SO bad, laughter is inevitable; so thank crivens for the rewind so you can re-hear the bits you were laughing hard over. Thank goodness the policeman assigned to the murders doesn?t catch up with the mob guy and rob us of that precious moment. Well, it was never too likely. He is the WORST police guy ever. He apparently ?reads like old people f**k?, and when 3 melted corpses turn up on his watch, with empty bottles of liquor next to them, he assumes it?s a serial killer(*) ? possibly Bronson. Gah! Economy Class Sinatra

Advantages: Cheap, great value, some superb tracks
Disadvantages: some duff tracks, poor insert

...I was in a garden centre last week and the cheapo music rack caught my eye, I often walk past it and glance at the titles but today I wanted a bit of music to pass the time in the traffic jams on the way home. Earlier on I had been having a discussion with someone about Sinatra, horses heads and a certain organisation known as the family. On seeing the CD 'All the way' my mind suddenly conjured up pictures of bobby soxers being forced into record stores, by men in double breasted pin striped suits carrying violin cases under their arms, to buy Sinatra records. Review of All The Way - Frank Sinatra

Frank Sinatra Can Act?!?!?!

Advantages: Gentle, easy going
Disadvantages:

...Pretty routine world war 2 war epic that's just a little bit too far out but does allow Frank Sinatra to spread his wings and actually turn in a decent performance. Storywise the setup is a little contrived (Frank ends up being in head prisoner honcho in an Italian POW camp in less than 5 minutes) but it never has any real slow or dull points (and no slushy romantic sub-plot thank God). In fact the time passes pretty quickly truth be told. The ending however is a little bit out of keeping with the time and industry (and I'm not giving it away so don't worry) and it's a nice little twist on a not outstanding (but not bad) story. The cast are good and it's obvious the Sinatra is the star (even if he's not the most accomplished of actors), but he gets good support and they do work well together. This is pretty predictable fodder...

Can I be Frank?

Advantages: Lots of great songs, excellent background music, not a bad track
Disadvantages: You'll find yourself singing along all the time!

...I'd never really considered myself a massive Frank Sinatra fan. Sure, I knew who he was and could name a couple of his songs, but I didn't ever think about buying his albums or anything This all changed at Christmas, when my family made me sit through the cringe-inducing Mel Gibson rom-com, 'What Women Want'. We can argue about the pros and cons of the film another time, but for me the only bright point was the soundtrack For those that haven't seen the film, fell asleep or walked out halfway through, the soundtrack is pretty much all Sinatra. I was instantly hooked - the foot was tapping, I was humming along, I couldn't help myself! So the next day I jumped on the web and sought out a CD that would give me a great overview of the man himself...and I'm glad to say that I found it. So in the spirit of sharing great discoveries...

I 'can, can' live without this one!

Advantages: Good illustrations
Disadvantages: The rhyme doesn't flow very easily

...This book is written by Julia Jarman and tells the story of a young Kangaroo who goes to France. During his stay he watches a sow where all of the dancers a doing the can can. On his return to Australia he misses the dancing so much that he decides to open a café where the can can is danced. He sets about holding auditions and whilst lots of the animals try out for the part, he just can?t seem to find an animal that does it well. The story is written in one big rhyme from start to finish but Ididn?t feel that it flowed as easily as some children?s book that I have read. I found that just as I was getting into a rythum, it would change and I?d be a little lost again however by the time I had read it over a few times, it came naturally and I knew where to go. Can Can It Do As Well

Advantages: Girly, not hugely expensive, nice if you like sweet scents
Disadvantages: Not the most exciting bottle, horrible if you hate sweet scents

...'Can Can' by Paris Hilton is the heiress' forth perfume entry. She based it upon a Moulin Rouge theme and the idea of cabaret; the bottle is of great elegance. The fragrance includes: Clementine flower, cassis, nectarine, wild orchid, orange blossom, musk, amber and woods. To me, the initial scent is very sweet but has a woodsy undertone, however, once it settles it is considerably less sweet and you can smell hints of the oriental edge she has tried to add as well as the citrus fruit. After an hour or so, the smell changes once again and I'd say it was more musky to which it stays until you change. Paris Hilton herself didn't create the perfume; it was developed by perfumer Jean-Claude Delville but based upon her ideas.
