Cool stuff to know about every country in the world. Everyone knows which is the world's highest mountain, but do you know which country banned chewing gum? Or what's the world's stinkiest fruit? Or who invented roller skates? Or which building leans more than the Leaning Tower of Pisa? Or where can you eat fried spiders as a snack? Here at Lonely Planet we decided to make a book about the world's countries for children, not parents. The world is a very big place, and in The Not-for-Parents Travel Book we've concentrated on the really interesting bits to create a snapshot of what each country is like. (Warning to parents: these might not be the same "really interesting bits" that you like...where to buy coffee, how many stars the hotel has, what's the phone number for the airport, blah, blah, blah.) In this book are the epic events, amazing animals, hideous histories, funky foods, and crazy facts that make the world's 200 countries so fascinating. Each country has a page to itself--so tiny Tuvalu gets as much space as superpower USA.

The General's Son In 1997, a tragedy struck the family of Israeli-American Miko Peled when his beloved niece Smadar was killed by a suicide bomber in Jerusalem. That event propelled Peled onto a journey of discovery, pushing him to re-examine many of the beliefs he'd grown up with as the son and grandson of leading figures in Israel's political-military elite, and transforming him into an activist in the struggle f Full description

Taught by Geeta S. Iyengar and produced by IYNAUS 5 discs: lecture and asana for 197 minutes; pranayama for 103 minutes; asana for 232 minutes; pranayama for 72 minutes; and asana for 211 minutes. In his blessings for the National US Convention, BKS Iyengar encouraged the organizers to explore the journey through the layers of understanding as experienced through the kosas. Geeta addressed the theme of the kosas by teaching the dynamic action and layers of awareness in asanas and pranayamas.

Advantages: Easy to reach by car, free parking, quiet Disadvantages: Not so good if you want to head to the Central Pier or North Shore, little else nearby
...a hotel with parking and go for a weekend.
Eventually I settled upon the Premier Inn Blackpool Central, lured in by the fact it has a large free car park and the "central" in the hotel's title.
Before I proceed with this review I have to take issue with Ciao stating this hotel is called "Blackpool South" - the title is incorrect as Premier Inn call this "Blackpool Central". However all the other...
Advantages: Much better than they used to be. Disadvantages: Still a way to go.
...Well I know that this train company is still listed in Ciao as Connex South Central, but for the last year and a bit, this train service has changed hands. It is now run by a company called Govia, under the new name South Central.
Having been in Brighton now in university for three years I have seen first hand how the train service has been running here. When I arrived, Connex was in charge...
Advantages: it's better than walking in the rain Disadvantages: Price, punctuality, reliability, lack of leg room, rude staff, early ticket-office closure....
...not open at station platforms. Other niggles include lack of openable windows (carriages are 'air conditioned' i.e. heaters on in summer, fans on in winter); lack of usable toilet (they're always, and I mean always out of order); they're generally dirty and unkept; and far noisier (I live near a station) than any other train I've ever known. There is, I must add, a rather comical first-class section...
