Review of Norwich Union (CGNU) by MJD67

Advantages: Good help desk
Disadvantages: Let me down when I needed them at the help desk too

Most policys seem to be the same so maybe I am harsh. I flew to Germany with Ryan Air and on the return the flight was cancelled due to fog. This cancellation in accordance to EU reglations 261/2004 is beyond the control of the airline so they are not liable for your costs and they did not have another flight for 48 hours. So booked with a competitor the next day. You would thnk your insurer would step up to the plate one way or another especially ... Read review

Insure and Go
Review of Insureandgo.com by Denzin

Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Many - see review

A complete waste of money! Don't use them. Booked a holiday to France with flights from Glasgow to London, with connection in London taking us to France. Due to attack Glasgow airport was closed and so we had to buy train tickets to get us to London next day and then new plane tickets to get us to France. Exactly the sort of situation you would think insurance would cover, yeah? No. Insure and Go don't cover any domestic flights so the fact that ...
...up the whole holiday meant they wouldn't pay a thing! What is the point of insurance! The terms and conditions are a nightmare of small print sending you from one page to another to tables and basically making it as difficult as possible to understand what is covered! There are basically so many exceptions and proscriptions they invalidate most common circumstances. ... Read review

...do't take any belongings. UPDATE: We have now taken this matter to the Financial Ombudsman in Ireland, who are may I add very nice and very helpful and recommended for those having trouble with this company, unlike those who work for whitehorse who are less than helpful, rude and patronising. ... Avoid like the plague
Review of InsureandGo.com by flashman2708

Advantages: cheap
Disadvantages: grossly inefficient - they don't ac tually pay up

I lost some hand luggage in Seattle. The company were contacted promptly but I had to ask five times to get them to send out a claim form. B y now suspicious, I returned trhe claim by resgistered mail and keeping receipts. Three months later I get a reply asking for the receipts. They've lost them and claim a page of the form is missing and wanting everything else under the sun including the user manuals for gadgets I bought three years ago. At ...
...delay or encourage claims to be abandonned. Why claim to insure belingings if you aren't actually prepared to pay up? I will persevere with this lot but I am now under no illusion that I will get anything out of them I was 100% straight forward and honest with them. I doesn't seem unreasonable to expect the same in reply. Never again. ... Read review

CHEAPEST FOR EXTRA MEDICAL COVER
Review of Post Office Travel Insurance by samantha.colebrook

Advantages: cheapest cover even when you have to pay extra for medical cover.
Disadvantages: NONE

...our Travel Insurance from the Post Office if we didn't get it included in the price of our holiday. We now have to pay an additional fee due to our son being in remission from cancer. The travel agents policy wanted to charge us £360 extra to cover him for 1 weeks travel, for his condition. Luckily the hospital recommended the Post Office and on enquiring we were charged £80 extra to cover him for 1 year on as many holidays as we took. They even ... Read review
