Best mainstream GB budget hotel chain
Review of Member Advice on Chain Hotels: Premier Lodge by Najim

Advantages: Good value. Pay on arrival or departure. Adjacent pub/restaurant.
Disadvantages: None

...For my work within Great Britain, I have switched from staying mainly in Travel Inns to mainly in Premier Lodges. Premier Lodge has now expanded to sufficient locations to make this viable - currently over 110 open and 10 or so opening soon, I believe. (None in Northern Ireland, which is why my title says GB not UK.) Like most Travel Inns and Travelodges, the Premier Lodges I have visited have functional, clean accommodation blocks with identical rooms and standard facilities - bed, chairs, desk, coffee/tea, some with phones, bath/shower/WC. Apart from some metropolitan locations, all the chains seem to charge between £39 and £50, and Premier Lodge are no exception, starting at £42. I first chose a Premier Lodge because nearby Travel Inns were booked solid. I was expecting an identical experience to the other chains. These are all... Read review

Love the Lodge!
Review of Premierlodge, Chelmsford, by richardsonjones

Advantages: Large Comfy Beds
Disadvantages: None!

...I think Premier Lodges rock. I mean, if you're after a cheap & cheerful stop over in a chain motel like Premier, Travelodge, Travel Inn etc, what more can you ask for? The principle is the same as any other 'lodge' - ie a fixed price for the room which can sleep up to 2 adults & 2 kids. But this is exactly as the name suggests, the PREMIER of the lodges. It has a HUGE bed that is very comfy, a powerful shower (and bath if you prefer to soak) with a TV you can turn so you can watch it while in the bath! Complimentary Dove shower gel & the usual tea & coffee facilities - this chain even has branches in city centres, rather than 10 miles out of town like Travelodge. PremierLodges are always connected to a pub/restaurant owned by the same chain, which I have always found to be far superior to the usual Little Chef you end up having... Read review

Travel Lodge, Slough
Review of Travel Lodge, Slough by Yelena

Advantages: location
Disadvantages: basic

...Staying at the Travel Lodge in Slough is a good option if you have to stay overnight after a long flight and don’t want to pay through the nose for hotels in the Heathrow airport area. Slough is also close to Legoland and Chessington World of Adventures. We stayed at the Travel Lodge in June, 2002. The double room we had was basic, but we didn’t expect anything else for 50 pounds a night. Our room wasn’t facing a busy road so that was a bonus. What we had was a double bed (with a duvet), a desk and chair, telephone, hairdryer, tea/coffee-making facilities, TV without a remote control for some reason. The bathroom with shower was fairly clean. Breakfast was OK, full English or continental. There’s a bar with a TV next to the dining-room, so we could enjoy our breakfast and watch the recent football match at the same time. We were... Read review

THE BEST PLACE TO STAY IN THE HULL AREA?
Review of Innkeeper's Lodge, Hull by RICHADA

Advantages: Clean and comfortable. Good Value For Money.
Disadvantages: Long Wet Walk From Check In to Lodge. View From Front Rooms

...WHY DID WE BOOK THE INNKEEPER'S LODGE - HULL? In this instance it was a purely business decision. The previous night we had stayed in the Innkeeper's Lodge at Chester (North East), the Hull Lodge was ideally situated for my business appointment at Brough. From previous experience we have found accommodation in Hull problematic, it is not a city exactly overflowing with a good choice of hotels and Bed and Breakfasts. We now use Innkeeper's Lodge's regularly in our travels and know that we can rely on the quality of the room and that the service offered is of a more than acceptable standard when compared to other lodge type hotels. HOTEL DESCRIPTION / OUR PERCEPTION FROM HOTEL PUBLICITY As with all of the Innkeeper's Lodges in which we have stayed, the Hull one is very well, and honestly, described, both in the new (2007) paper... Bedding down in Bournemouth
Review of Innkeepers Lodge, Bournemouth by DKtheDJ

Advantages: Clean, tidy and friendly
Disadvantages: Next to a main road so possibly a little noisy

...received on this and subsequent visits was very friendly and swift - despite the bar being busy. When we were kept waiting because of the people at the bar we were greeted with a friendly smile and a reassurance that we would be seen soon As they are quite family friendly they do not allow hen or stag parties to stay at the lodge although the first visit we made a quartet of lads had stayed there and been quite disruptive. The management was very swift to remedy the situation offering full refunds to the two families that had been affected by this quartet's rowdy behaviour in the early hours. Although the rooms are a similar standard to the Travel Lodge chain and the prices are comparable the Innkeeper's offers complimentary breakfasts with a range of items from croissants to toast and cereal which you help yourself to. Various drinks... Read review

TRAVEL INN - CAN BE EVEN BETTER VALUE
Review of Member Advice on Chain Hotels: Whitbread Travel Inns / Metros by GREENSILLM

Advantages: Sites are normally near to a pub
Disadvantages: Do Not Widely Publicise Their Discount Card

...I have used several budget hotel chains such as Travel Inn, Travel Lodge, Wether Lodge (JD Wetherspoons, Holiday Inn Express and prefer the Travel Inn chain, most of their hotels are situated near to a pub so you are able to get a dr
