Travel Lodge, Slough
Advantages: location
Disadvantages: basic
...Staying at the Travel Lodge in Slough is a good option if you have to stay overnight after a long flight and don?t want to pay through the nose for hotels in the Heathrow airport area.
Slough is also close to Legoland and Chessington World of Adventures.
We stayed at the Travel Lodge in June, 2002. The double room we had was basic, but we didn?t expect anything else for 50 pounds a night...

Arebbusch Travel Lodge
Advantages: Ideal base in Windhoek, very easy access to the centre of town, lovely chalets and friendly service. Campsites can be dusty, but plenty of shade.
Disadvantages: Busy road outside the gates, but you can't have everything!
...South of the city, but within easy distance to the centre of Windhoek, this charming travel lodge is an ideal base for both families and independent travellers. We much preferred here to anywhere in the centre of town, mainly due to being able to come through the manned gates and shut ourselves away in our lovely chalet. These are clean, spacious and quiet, the kitchens are moderate, but...

Advantages: Position. Staff. Welcome. Food. Quality. Room. View. Free Wi-Fi. Value
Disadvantages: Poor Sound Insulation.

As one not afraid to put his 'money where his mouth is', when looking for a birthday / autumn break this year, I had no hesitation in agreeing to my wife's enthusiastic suggestion of making a return visit to Bassenthwaite and the Ravenstone Lodge. Our holiday this autumn could have been regarded as something, due to family circumstances, as a panic purchase - we truly NEEDED...
