The Birth Of A Nation

Advantages: Important film in film making history
Disadvantages: Contraversial. I don't agree with the views of the film, a little too long

...The Birth of a Nation is a black and white silent film from 1915. It?s not a film I had heard of before, and the reason I watched it was because it was on the film list for a course I am taking at university. The film is based on a novel by Thomas Dixon called ?The Clansmen?. I had read up a little bit about the film before I started watching it so I wasn?t as surprised as I might have been about the content. The film was (and still is) controversial for promoting white supremacy, and I thought most of it was quite racist! The film was regarded as a very important film in its day as it used many new filming techniques which hadn?t been seen before. Review of The Birth Of A Nation (Silent With Music Soundtrack) (DVD)

Excellent travel system

Advantages: Folding down, multifunctional
Disadvantages: Slightly heavy

...Being a first time Mum, I searched around all the high street shops for a functional and attractive travel system. Out of all the prams this one had the easiest folding down system, even tho it was slightly on the heavy side I could fold it down with 1 hand! The carry cot was great for the first 4 months fitting in to the pram snuggly as the seat folded flat (which I found alot of other prams didn't do) The car seat had a base that made it so easy to take the baby in and out of the car (no messing around with seat belts every time!) It is also very well padded, however it didnt come with cushioned protectors on the straps. When we were taking baby home for the first time, the midwife told us it needed them which were only £5 extra to buy. She's in the buggy part now which has three postions and harnesses which is great. Overall fab...

A bulky travel system

Advantages: Big Shopping basket, Suitable until baby wants to walk, Great for Ramming people out of the way (joke)
Disadvantages: Very Heavy, Bulky and Hard to find somewhere to put the pushchair when not using it.

Ever since i brought it i hated but my partner wouldnt let me take it back because he liked it. -Car Seat- My son never liked the car seat so it didnt get used much. It scrunched him up to much and even though they say you can use it until the baby is 29lbs my son would fit in it when he got to 20lbs. The only good thing about the car seat was that it was easy to fit into a car and onto the pushcchair to make it a travel system. -Pushchair- As i said above my son didnt like it in the carseat so i had to put him in the pushchair from about 2weeks old, this pushchair is ment to be suitable from birth. Advantages: cheaper than flying/trains at short notice
Disadvantages: much slower than most other transport options

...So after my happy experience travelling the other weekend I'm off on my travels again, this time risking a foray in to the world which my parents inhabit. So as Bolton has no airport, Lydd has no train station but both have bus stops it seems logical that I would consider getting the coach to Bolton. This is as far as I know the only national coach service in the UK (although in Scotland it is run under the City Link name) and is a member of the european Eurolines coach network. I booked my travel using the nationalexpress.com website the site is mildly confusing if you don't want to use one of the their funfare or travel from one of their more popular stops. ...National Treasure has to be one of my favourite Disney Movies in the last 10 years, and even though I think of myself logically too old for Disney films, this particular film has such a likeable, watchable quality to it, and at times reminds me of my younger years.
