Travelmate 3200 Series, Nothing Comes Close!
Review of Acer TravelMate 3200 by
Chazzer3
Advantages: Great Screen, brilliant speed, Centrino, WLAN, 802.11g, Bluetooth, 1cm Thick at front!, Hot Keys, 512-1024mb RAM, Brilliant Looks, Great Attention to Detail, Great Manual etc, Fabulous Weight, (2kg), 54mbs WLAN, and much more!
Disadvantages: None Whatsoever!
...**EDIT**
There has been a recent price drop in this laptop, meaning that the spec that you are mainly reading about in this diamond rated review is now available for prices in the 850-899 range, and for the price I paid, £994, you can now get the 1.6Ghz 80GB version, thanks and enjoy the review!
**END OF EDIT**
The Acer Travelmate 3201Xci, part of the 3200 series is simply amazing! It is jam packed with features, and is absolutely tiny! And in a very good way! For all the brilliant details read on in my review!
Speed
Did you see that? Obviously not, it was light, and that is the kind of speed that this laptop can do! It has an Intel Pentium M Centrino processor at a running speed of 1.5Ghz, “Small!” I hear you say, oh no! This is amazingly fast, thanks to its 2mb of on level DIE cache, (don’t worry about what...

acer travelmate 5720
Review of Acer TravelMate 5720G-302G16 - Core 2 Duo T7300 - 15.4" TFT by
techno_man_37
Advantages: portable
Disadvantages: could have more memory
...This laptop is another one from the acer travelmate range .
Acer as a laptop company are beginig to grow, and they are now just as well know as a lot of others, but then I first saw then in shops, my first impression, and the impression of others I asked was they seemed a bit of a cheap brand, just like netto is compared to Sainsbury's. however acer have somehow seemed to change peoples minds and even managed to change my mind somehow.
If you want something sturdy, with a solid specification and in a mid price range of around £500, yet you could get one a lot cheaper now on eBay. Then this laptop could be for you.
Its Intel Core 2 Duo T7300 processor runs at 2GHz which is pretty good, and its has 1 gb of ram too. This makes it a lot faster than a lot of other laptops with only 1 gb of ram though because its processor is so quick...

Acer travelmate 8103
Review of Acer TravelMate 8103WLMi - Pentium M 750 1.86 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
omurch
Advantages: Large screen good quality
Disadvantages: heavy not hi-spec
...This is the second Travelmate i have owned (the first being the similar Travelmate 8000) and it is the best i have used so far. Below is a list of the things i like and don't like about the product:
Pros:
Large Screen - good for watching films and also doing technical work (ie drawings and graphs)
Hi-spec enough to be quick
Card reader is really useful - we seem to have about very different memory card these days!!!!
Looks good - not really a technical comment but i like it.
Useful acer components - such as the acer grid system and power control options
Wireless seems to be really good at picking up signal
Cons
Heavy
Not the highest spec (you get what you pay for - and better than similar laptops of the same spec!)
Large...

Acer Travelmate 4000 Review
Review of Acer TravelMate 4000 by
RaSz
Advantages: Fast, good graphic, thin
Disadvantages: low quality sound&screen, mal placement of ports
...Got mine with a 60GB Harddrive; 1.6 Ghz Centrino proccessor, 512 MB RAM and a 64MB Radeon 9200 Graphics Card, half a year ago, and it is still working as if it where new.
The main impression of it is that it gives what it promisses. The specs are kind of high considering the price-class. The centrio prossesor and Radeon Graphics card makes it ideally for playing games on; and it always starts up fast. My girlfriend got a Compaq nx9020 with an intel celeron proccessor for about the same price as mine. It has a really bad startuptime for most applications using the windows XP platform and playing games wth demanding graphics is impossible. Though; it has many things that the Travelmate series lack:
-A thought through design
-A pair of good built in speakers
-A good screen with better contrast (which actually makes it worth...

Why I love the travelmate
Review of Acer TravelMate 2423WXMi - Celeron M 370 1.5 GHz - 14.1" TFT by
tophtoph69
Advantages: Great Looking, portable and powerfull
Disadvantages: HDD Capacity
...Since purchasing a travelmate in Singapore almost six years ago I have loved this model. It served me well through university and when I left I bought this new model 2423. They have both been so reliable. Never faulting, always faster than you! They are great machines, built to last!
This is acer's best selling notebook and it is easy to see why. With a 2.5 hour battery life and a slimline chassis, this laptop weighs in at only 2.5 Kgs, all at a great value. Pre-installed with Windows XP, you also get wireless networking, a crisp widescreen display and a DVDRW Drive, making it an unbeatable solution for both home and business users.
The only negative thing I would say is that the plug and play DVD drive has the tendancy to pop out within the case, the switch needs to be a little more robust.
But otherwise, fantastic!...

Acer Travelmate 7510
Review of Acer TravelMate 7514WSMi - Turion 64 X2 TL-56 - 17" TFT by
Tattletittle
Advantages: Widescreen - built in wifi connectivity - Ease of use
Disadvantages: Relatively short battery life.
...I have used the Acer Travelmate 7510 version, for about a year now. Prefering the wider 17" screen, which this Acer has.
The unit is powered by the AMD Turion 64 processor, another personal preference towards Athlon rather than Intel. 2 gig of RAM and an 80 gig hard drive, is more than sufficient for the personal home or office user.
Wireless internet connection has been very stable and runs at 8mbps on average, which is great for music or film downloads.
Windows Vista home premium is pre-installed and you do not receive a back up or restore cdr. The operating system is partitioned on the hard drive, so, in theory, you can always restore it to original factory settings - having tried this, due to a virus, I found I could not carry out this function, despite Acer telling me otherwise. The problem was easily resolved...

Acer Travelmate 2414WLMi
Review of Acer TravelMate 2414LMi - Celeron M 380 1.6 GHz - 15" TFT by
sullyrev
Advantages: Excellent Price, Good Design
Disadvantages: A little slow
...This is a review for the Acer Travelmate 2414WLMi.
Which is very similar to the product above
(1.6Ghz, 40GB HDD, 256MB RAM, WiFi, Dual Layer DVD RW etc.. 15" Screen).
We managed to buy this product for £299 in comet after having difficulty from Tesco.
-- Looks --
The laptop seems to be slimmer than others but this makes it a little wider and deeper. This has made the keyboard a little further from the front.
-- Ports, Inputs, Outputs --
The laptop has 4 USB 2.0 ports 3 on the left side and 1 on the back. The power socket is also located on the back. It has a headphone and mic socket in the front where the Wifi and Bluetooth (yes it seems to have bluetooth - but not yet tested!) lights and buttons are located (the light also acts as a button) . Also on the left is an output for an external monitor.
-- Hidden Features...

Acer Travelmate Review 4000
Review of Acer TravelMate 4000 by
paranoidcookie
Advantages: Thin Light Cheap
Disadvantages: Heats up underwrist rest low powered graphics
...I have just been given an Acer Travelmate 4000 to replace my aging AJP laptop. I am told it cost £700 with a 3 year warranty.
First Impressions were good its looks nice with a good standard of design. The screen is bright with a 1280x800 wide xga resolution it has good contrast both under the fluorescent lights at work and sat outside at the local coffee shop.
Software support wasn’t great, it came preinstalled with Windows XP home the only bundled applications were Acers management software, cd/dvd authoring software (for use with the DVD +- RW drive. Also bundled was a copy of Powerdvd for watching movies. There was no office software, which cause a little problem. I solved this by downloading a copy of open office.
The laptop is powered by a Intel Centrino. The processor is a 1.5ghz Celeron with inbuilt wireless...

Acer Travelmate 290 Laptop Computer
Review of Acer TravelMate 290LCi - Pentium M 1.3 GHz - 15" TFT by
Hsaxo
Advantages: Lightweight, robust, quick
Disadvantages: Battery life could be better, hard to get hold of
...Acer Travelmate 290LCi
I am using this laptop currently, right now I am even typing on it I have been using this laptop for around 6 months after it was bought for my by my boyfriend who bough it off his dad for just £50 it originally started life in a school as one of their many laptops and when they updated them they were just dis-guarded. There was absolutely nothing wrong with it when I bought it and it was all wiped clean and ready to use by the time I got it.
It came with Windows XP Professional already installed which is the standard operating system for this brand of laptop.
Since owning this laptop it has been brilliant I had not had a laptop before this and found it great for lying in bed till late on a night on the internet, it is only very light weighing around just 2.8kg so not very heavy at all. It has a 15" screen...

Acer Travelmate 5320 Laptop = Perfect!
Review of Acer TravelMate 5320-101G12Mi - Celeron M 540 1.86 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
XFactorBoi
Advantages: The features it comes with for such great alue for money
Disadvantages: no choice of colour nd possibly weight for some people
...I've had my Acer 5320 Travelmate for 3days now. This is my first laptop and to be perfectly honest, it has everything that I need and more.
I purchased this along with a T-Mobile offer which was a FREE laptop if you took out a mobile internet dongle with 3 GB allowance for £30 per month for two years. I only look at the advert and thought what the heck, get it!
Next day it arrives, opened it all up and my god I couldn't believe what it had! Firstly I didn't expect this computer to have an infrared port, Bluetooth, wireless, integrated camera, microphone and a memory card reader all built it!!!! I was a little kid at Christmas.
Now personally myself, I know you can get better looking laptops, better designs and probably a lot more crammed into a computer, but for the offer that I got and for what I got, I am more than happy...
