One Night In Manchester....

...Having treated my husband to tickets for WWE's Monday Night Raw Live at Manchester Evening News Arena (MENA), it came about that I'd also have to book accomodation as we didn't want to drive back late at night. After a great experience of Travelodge in Oxford, I decided that, as we were only staying one night in Manchester, a Travelodge was ideal. I booked our room thorugh the Travelodge website, there was a choice of 3 hotels in and around Manchester City Centre, this one being the closest to MENA, so at a rate of £50 per room, per night, I decided to book a double, non smoking room. Manchester Outskirts or Manchester Central?

Advantages: Good location,cheap price,clean
Disadvantages: nothing really

...As a fairly regular customer of Travelodge,i stayed here with my partner in January and the room cost us £26 per night for a family room which was very good value for money. Of course i had to book this 14 days online but for this price,it represented great value for money. The hotel itself is called Manchester Central which is sort of deceiving really because it is actually in Salford which is not part of Manchester since it is a seperate council authority. None the less it is approx 5 mins walk from Market street and the Arndale Shopping centre. Manchester Piccadilly station is about a 15 minute walk which isn't too bad at all-especially sicne Manchester is quite a flat city with few hills. Come Stay at the Travelodge Wolverhampton

It was so bad it wasn't even liveable, so we decided to up sticks and pack a couple of bags and escape for a couple of nights. ...We arrived at the Travelodge late in the evening, so it wasn?t the bustling place you?d normally associate with a Travelodge. First impressions were that this lodge was quite a bit larger than any others I?d stayed in, but since it was the closest to the Channel Tunnel that wasn?t really surprising. The car park, although large, was fairly packed, and we managed to grab two of the last few spaces available, but these were a long way from the door, so it was a bit of a trek with overnight bags. ...I spent 4 nights at the Travelodge Manchester Ancoats in July 2008, staying in a Family Room. Location This particular Travelodge is reasonably well located on the main A665 road, however it does not have a car park. It is about a 10 to 15 minute walk to both Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Victoria railway stations and it will take you no longer than 10 minutes to walk to the Arndale Centre or Piccadilly Gardens, where you can find buses and trams heading all over the Greater Manchester area. The area around the hotel isn't particularly salubrious however and there's a distinct lack of bars and restaurants nearby - you are better heading towards the Arndale if you are feeling hungry, although I did find a fairly decent sit down fish and chip shop about 5 minutes walk away. ...As a yearly trip the girls from work always decide to plan a saturday night out in Manchester and I always get landed with the role of sorting out our overnight accommodation, after checking out our normal destination of the Travellodge Blackfriars road, I saw an offer for rooms for just 26pounds. ...Our night in the Travelodge in Leatherhead turned out to be quite a stressful occasion. Finding the Hotel This is where the stress began, according to the invoice printed off from Travelodge, simply typing the postcode into a satnav, or onto an online route planner will be sufficient. Unfortunately this directs you to a shopping centre car park. As we arrived approximately 11pm on a Saturday, this car park was obviously empty, and there was no one around to ask directions. ...Plans for a weekend break to Bradford (yes, really) arose from a Travelodge promotion in which room prices started at just £5 a night. I was looking for ideas for the OH?s birthday and wanted a destination that wasn?t too far away and where the Travelodge wasn?t in the middle of nowhere; Bradford seemed possible. Although I wasn?t able to get the cheapest rate, I was happy enough with a charge of £19 per night for the room. While this Travelodge isn?t ?in the middle of nowhere?, neither is it in the centre of the city. ...I stayed at this hotel for two nights either side of a trip to France in October 2008 and found it to be a decent hotel for the purpose of our trip. We had stayed at a Premier Inn the previous year and didn't particularly like it, so based on a previous stay with Travelodge we decided to book with them. I had done some research and the hotel itself was located on a leisure park just off the motorway. It has a Little Chef, KFC, Frankie & Benny's and Pizza Hut for food and a cinema, health and fitness club and a couple of nightclubs for entertainment.
