Star Trek - Alternately Outstanding

Oh my goodness - A Trek Movie that I loved!!!!

Advantages: A brand new storyline with definite tributes to the original Trek
Disadvantages: Not enough Nero!!!

...Being married to a Star Trek fan isn't easy. In fact it's blooming hard!! I could swear sometimes I know more about it than he does and it's scary! So to find out there was a new Star Trek movie coming out brought a sigh of "not another one" from me and a lot of excitement from himself. And as soon as tickets were available to order from the cinema, I had to get them in advance for the first night of showings as he decided it just would not do to go on the second night. ...I was a bit wary of watching this film, because I really enjoyed the later Star Trek films, and wasn?t sure a prequel was a good idea. Synopsis The story follows James Kirk from the events of his birth and his yearly years, but mainly concentrates on his first voyage on the Starship Enterprise. It also follows the life of Spock and how he was an outcast both on Vulcan and Earth due to his mixed parentage. Spock as we all know also ends up on the Enterprise. Early in the film Kirk is accused of cheating on a test, and during the enquiry a distress call is received from Vulcan and Starfleet respond by sending off the fleet to investigate. Despite the fact Kirk is suspended he sneaks on the Enterprise as it heads off. The ship is being run by all new recruits apart from the captain, so it sets off later than the rest...

Trek 4300

Advantages: Lightweight, Durable, Value for Money
Disadvantages: No lock out on the forks, no disc brakes, poor quality chainset

...After a long break from cycling I decided to get back into mountain biking. My budget was limited and I wanted something lightweight and durable. After coming across the Trek 4300 my mind was quickly made up, lovely lightweight frame that wouldn't be out of place on bikes twice the price. A reasonable set of Shimano Alvio shifters and forks with adjustable pre-load. Perfect for what I wanted, something I could commute to work on but also give a good thrashing around the local MTB routes. The bike is versatile, the adjustable pre-load works well and although the forks aren't fantastic, they'll serve you well as long as you're not throwing it off 6 foot drop offs. The only things really letting this bike down are the Suntour SR cranks. Mine were poorly fitted and the pedals had been cross threaded which meant that when I went...
