Trev Tries Trek
Review of Trek 1.2 Double by
trevorbrock
Advantages: Good re-introduction to road bikes
Disadvantages: expense and pedals
...Petrol bills are falling rapidly in East Belfast.
My latest acquisition might turn the whole fuel crisis around in a week or two.
If you have shares in the oil industry, now is the time to offload them.
And if you are a tanker driver, just be thankful there is still some demand left for your services - that might not long be the case.
I've bought a bike !
It is possible, of course, that the big fall will be me, not the fuel cost - balance is not my main gift!.
It is possible that that fuel demand will increase as ambulances race across the Belfast skyline to pick up the bits and pieces that are left of me, once I hit the roads.
And it is possible that tanker drivers will all resign the moment they catch sight of my lycra clad rear end on their horizon.
So what is going on here!?
1 The Big idea.
Once my cycling mad...

Shell Fuel Garage - Burton-On-Trent
Review of Shell Fuel Garage Burton on Trent by
Hsaxo
Advantages: Friendly Staff, Good Range of Fuels
Disadvantages: Jet Wash Doesn't Work, Isnt Very Good
...Shell Fuel Garage - Burton on Trent
What is Shell…?
They are a large fuel producing company which includes oil, gas, petrol and diesel, this company has many filling stations across the country and also in other countries too. They are well known for producing the 99octane V-Power and also V-Power diesel which is advertised as Ferrari fuel for the roads. This is probably because Shell sponsors Ferrari so they often help give Ferrari advertising.
Shell are one of the leading companies in fuel supplying and I definitely trust them to do provide the best fuels for my cars and also to help improve the environment with improving their fuels to be more environmentally friendly.
Shell also have a really useful website with lots of information about what they provide and other things they are part of including environment...

Trek...... This is fast
Review of Trek 1200 by
yackers1
Advantages: fast, light, high spec for cheap price
Disadvantages: None
...to be increased quite significantly to get anything that would last.
I spent hours researching, joining forums (I highly recommend Bike Radar) etc in order to find the ideal bike in my budget.
Whilst taking my trusty steed of a mountain bike to Pauls Cycles in Dereham I thought that I'd better have a quick look at the small selection of racers in the shop. It was there I saw it…… The Trek 1200 in black and red.
I knew the Trek name and knew that they were generally a good, quality brand. That was it though.
The price was £799 which was way over my budget, but because it was a 2006 model I could have something knocked off it. The bike was described as 'shop soiled' since it had fallen over and had a tiny scratch on the frame. If the bloke hadn't told me this I would never have noticed it despite looking over the bike thoroughly. This led...

Ultimate fuel works in practice.
Review of Alternative Fuels by
RICHADA
Advantages: Widely available. Excellent value for money. Kinder to the environment.
Disadvantages: Looks expensive, not all garages stock Ultimate diesel.
...With apologies to the expert who wrote superbly on "true" alternative fuels in this category, I'd like to recall my experiences using BP Ultimate fuel over the last 15 months.
You may offer an argument that petrol and diesel, however brewed don't qualify as "alternative fuels" and yes I'd agree with you.
However we are in the real world here, most of us who drive have to fill our cars with petrol, diesel or, in the case of an increasingly large minority, LPG (Liquid Petrolium Gas).
Like the government energy adverts say what difference does one person make? From my own experiences using initially BP's Ultimate Unleaded petrol, latterly Ultimate Diesel I can tell you that we would all be capable now of making a difference - most importantly at no cost financially to ourselves. For me with two very diverse cars, this fuel has...

The best for storing camping fuels
Review of Optimus Fuel bottles by
sit2020
Advantages: Robust and light
Disadvantages: Availability and the screw lid can become stiff
...In times gone by, I used to work in a shop that sold a lot of camping equipment. It was only a matter of time before the camping bug bit me. Having the advantage of reports of equipment used by customers gave me the opportunity to make sure I had the best kit for what I needed.
Often I would cycle, so that would mean space and weight would play a major part in making sure that my camping experiences could be as pleasurable as possible.
Part of the camping experience is cooking food outdoors, apart from having an open fire (something that most campsites do not like or allow), you will need something to cook food on. Now that leaves three main choices
Solid Fuel - Normally either a fuel block that you light or a gel in a can.
Bottled Gas - This is usually Butane gas stored in a pressurised container.
Liquid Fuels - Normally...

Star Trek The Mag.
Review of Star Trek the Collectors Edition by
nona1661
Advantages: It's Star Trek.
Disadvantages: It's Star Trek.
...One day last week i was in my local shop getting my usual daily stock of cigs and chocolate. I was just about to leave when it caught my eye. A very large piece of cardboard( about the size of 2 A4 sheets of paper) with the words Star trek on it and a magazine and a dvd stuck to it.It had grabbed my attention when i looked furtherer i noticed that it was a new magazine series about star trek. It comes with a dvd of a particular film or tv episode and a magazine about that dvd and it only costs £3.99 (after the first issue the price goes up to £7.99). So being a bit of a star trek fan i decided that this was too good an opportunity to miss so i bought it.
For those of yous that don't know about star trek (where have you been for the last 40 years) here is a brief description of what star trek is.
Star trek( this is now know as tos...

Alternative fuels. Hydrogen power a cleaner future
Review of Alternative Fuels by
see-search.com
Advantages: Clean, no polution, renewable fuel and ecological.
Disadvantages: Big business and oil rich nations.
...The fossil fuel based engines are more dangerous than just speed; they are destroying everything we hold most dear. There is an alternative, but not everyone likes it. What would you say if I told you an engine could run on a renewable source and only emit what it uses?
Not as far fetched as it first sounds. Examples are springing up in major car manufacturers and Universities all over the world. The drivers have come from the major countries such as Germany and Japan that have no oil reserves of their own. Companies like BMW, Nissan, Mazda with their own Hydrogen Wankel engine, and even Ford with its H2ICE engine have taken this seriously enough to produce demonstration models as feasibility studies. Admittedly at this stage they are only a concept, but a concept that has got far enough to be a viably concern to those who have...

Star Trek: The Motion Picture
Review of Star Trek - The Motion Picture DVD by
phurren2006
Advantages: The entire main cast from the TV show return
Disadvantages: It is very slow
...----------------
INTRODUCTION
----------------
Released in 1979, STAR TREK - THE MOTION PICTURE is a sequel to the 1960s television show STAR TREK. The franchise had suffered the ignominy of an animated series in the mid-1970s, which is in fact regarded quite highly amongst aficionados, but this film really kickstarted the STAR TREK franchise, leading to a further 9 films with yet another currently being made, and another four TV series to date. The STAR TREK saga truly is the franchise that wouldn't die and this film has a large part to play in that (although not as large a part as the second film - STAR TREK II: THE WRATH OF KHAN - as you will see if you read my upcoming review on that movie!)
----------------
THE PLOT
----------------
Admiral James T. Kirk and the crew of the Enterprise enter the enormous constructions...

Star Trek Movies Collection
Review of Star Trek - The Film Collection (The Motion Picture-Nemesis) by
Fussells4
Advantages: Every Star Trek Movie, in one Handy Box
Disadvantages: There aren't enough hours in a day!
...If you love Star Trek, these are definitely for you!
This is every movie ever made, okay thats only ten, but still thats impressive.
The packaging is brilliant, it is a box within a box, with two Holders within that, which spread out and hold five movies.
There are five original movies, and five of the next generation movies. In total they make 1101 minutes (I make that about 18 hours 30 mins) of pure star Trek excellence.
The ratings of the movies differ, 1 is a U, 3 are 12s, and the rest are PG.
All of the DVDs look the same, but as you lift the DVDs out the packaging there is a piece of artwork underneith relating to the movie.
Right so the movies themselves, I wont tell you storylines, as 1, you probably know them anyway, also I dont want to give away too much if you havent seen them.
STAR TREK: THE MOTION...

Star Trek III OST
Review of Star Trek III: The Search For Spock - Various Artists by
berlioz
Advantages: Great music by James Horner
Disadvantages: Some think a little too repeating of Star Trek II
...After Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan ended on a distinctly somber note with the death of Spock, some doubts were raised as to the future of Star Trek. With Spock gone what point was there to go on. But sure enough two years later a third entry did appear, entitled Star Trek III: The Search for Spock and directed by Spock himself, Leonard Nimoy. Continuing right where the last movie ended, Kirk and crew are on their way back to Earth while Kirk's son and Lt. Saavik (both introduced in Trek II) go investigating the Genesis planet just created. After Dr. McCoy starts behaving strangely, Kirk soon finds out that Spock had transported his Katra (soul) into McCoy before he went off to face death. Now Kirk has to get McCoy to Genesis in order to get Spock's body and take them to Vulcan. The problem is that Genesis has been declared off limits...
