Rock Band

Advantages: Be In a Rock Band!

...One game I have always loved is Guitar Hero...I bought the original the day it came out. But I'm a drummer, have been for years so I always thought how cool it would be to have a drum game. Then I heard about Rock Band! First off this game makes the best of both worlds...you can get your mates around and have a full band session or you can go solo and plough through career mode. The songs are good aswell, they tend to air on the "pop-rock" side and the game seems to favor "Indie-rock" There are a couple of Metal legends in there, and there is something satisfying about thrashing away to such legendary hits as "Enter Sandman". Tri Band Terrific

Advantages: Great quality sounds and pictures
Disadvantages: Fiddly to use. Texting is a pain

...it is operating wireless itself. Luckily my laptop is so I can take pictures with my phone and send them to people via the computer. This can be a bit awkward sometimes as the infa red connection can play up. You have to make sure you line the infa red sensors on both devices up exactly too. Picture Messaging. You can send pictures via the MMS system that this phone supports. However, make sure your provider supports this too. I am with Virgin Pay as you Go and they do not allow media Messaging, hence why I send pictures via email! Tri Band Technology. No longer do I require an additional Phone to use in USA. This phone has pretty much worldwide coverage. So no matter where I go in the world, I can always phone home. Texting? Hmm...I end up pulling my hair out with this one. It has predictive text and this can cause a problem...

Rock Band Rocks My Socks!

Advantages: Everything!
Disadvantages: You may need to make a few modifications to your kit, worth it though.

...I first played this game at my uncle's house, and within about 5 seconds I was addicted. At this point I had already played the games predecessor 'Guitar Hero', and so had an understanding of this sort of game, particularly the guitar. Rock Band, however, is far better. Like Guitar Hero, Rock Band is split into four difficulties. Easy, Medium, Hard and Expert. You can do a solo tour and play all the songs in sequence at different difficulties (easy has a few less songs than the other difficulties, which makes sense, since some rhythms can only go so easy). On multiplayer the format changes, and you play in different cities and venues, gaining 'stars' to move on with the plot of the game. You can have up to 5 stars, depending on how well you play the song. I don't think you can get less than 3 or you won't complete the track...

A nice feature that the game also includes is the fact that if you don?t have people to join in with you in playing on the various instruments in the game you can join up with other users online and create your own worldwide band. Like with a lot of the Wii?s online games there is a means of inputting your friends Wii codes so that you can easily connect with them to play. If this wasn?t enough for you the creators of the game also run in game competitions which will appear at the various venues in the game, these competitions can take various forms from trying to achieve the highest score on one or more songs too gaining the highest note...

...Rock Band is a step in the right direction for any musical gamer. Obviously a move onwards from the Guitar Hero franchise with the inclusion of a drum kit and a microphone. The guitar is practically the same as any of the guitar hero guitars, but with a few tweaks such as the solo buttons which are very difficult to use and aren't really needed. Therefore the guitar isn't really a must have if you already have a guitar hero guitar. However if you don't then get the whole band set as the variety offered by having so many instruments is endless and playing with friends or online is one of the best things about the game. The solo careers are good too with a good tracklist which ranges dramatically and also new downloadable tracks every week in case you get bored of the same tunes over and over again.
