Reviews of tri band
My personal top 10 bands ever.
Review of Top 10 Musicians/Bands by
dartfordhammer
Advantages: I love these bands.
Disadvantages: A lot can be debated about my choices.
...in my opinion made them one of the world's greatest bands. Their technique for innovation is unmatched, producing songs that you might think are a little obscure to begin with, but grow on you over time until you love them to bits (maybe that's just me).
Discography
------------------
Pablo Honey - 1993
The Bends - 1995
OK Computer - 1997
Kid A - 2000
Amnesiac - 2001
Hail To The Thief - 2003
Band Members
---------------------
Thom Yorke, vocals & guitar.
Ed O'Brien, guitar.
Jonny Greenwood, guitar.
Colin Greenwood, bass.
Phil Selway, drums.
All 5 band members hail from Abingdon in Oxfordshire, England.
I can see this band being a massive influence on bands to come in the next decades, because of their innovation and confidence in trying out new techniques and sounds. They're huge as it is, but they'll be massive, mark...

Band Camp For Virgins
Review of American Pie Presents: Band Camp/The 40 Year Old Virgin DVD by
Nathan_Innit
Advantages: Carell plays his role as virgin perfectly
Disadvantages: Band Camp is an awful stand alone film
...What do you get when you cross American Pie 4 with the 40 Year Old Virgin? A very uneven boxset. These films are both classed as sex comedys, however whilst the 40 YOV achieved something American Pie: Band Camp is just a money spinner. Lets start at the good end...
Like a virgin, touched for the very first time. Only Madonna was singing about the emotions, and Steve Carell plays the living, breathing, 40 Year Old Virgin in this movie of the same title. Carrell, who you maybe familiar with for his appearance in Anchorman, plays Andy Stizer. Whilst Andy has tried to have sex in the past it has never gone his way, ruining situations by kicking girls with foot fetishes in the face, only to just give up. This movie follows him as his work colleagues become his friends and try to get him laid for the first time, and we follow Andy on his...

A Favourite Thing Top 10 Bands
Review of Top 10 Musicians/Bands by
a-true-ben
Advantages: They're my favourite bands...
Disadvantages: ...just difficulty picking
...I’ve been trying to think of a ‘favourite thing’ for Jill’s anniversary. Of course, music in general’ would be high on the list, but Pete already beat me to that anyway. It’s hard to pick a specific album, or even band. In the end, I thought I’d cheat, and pick ten bands! I’m not too sure how I did this; they’re all bands that I really like and that I consider either ‘objectively very good’ and/or significant for me personally. The only real criterion was I had to have some decent experience to judge them as bands – no one was getting in here on the basis of one album (that’s for a separate opinion).
Here we go then:
1 Nirvana
Unfortunately I kind of missed out on Nirvana. I wasn’t into music as a young child much, and by the time I’d...

Top Ten Underrated Bands - the Indie Mix
Review of Top Ten Underrated Bands by
larsbaby
Advantages: Classic Indie artists from the late 80s - mid 90s
Disadvantages: Probably most interesting to a niche market
...the feedback! Probably the stand out band from the Scene That Celebrates Itself of shoegazing repute, Ride made 2 great albums, Nowhere & Going Blank Again, before going all Ravi Shankar, adding sitars and hoped-for mysticism on their third album, Carnival of Light. By the release of their 4th album Tarantula they had imploded, and Andy Bell went on to form the average Hurricane #1 and then totally lose the plot in joining Oasis. But listen to Twisterella and the sublime Chrome Waves and remember how, once they learnt to play their instruments, Oxford's finest really could put on a good show.
Recommended album - Going Blank Again
Sounds like - Posh, fey Southern Oasis with feedback
5. The Wedding Present
Try to ignore the fact Dave Gedge isn't actually a very good singer, his old skool Indie anthems about love, loss and Granadaland...

Rock Band
Review of Rock Band (Xbox 360) by
b3an
Advantages: addictive, big choice of songs, multiplayer
Disadvantages: hefty price tag if you want all of the peripherals.
...is indicated by an arrow on the left of the screen, while the words of the song and the line in which you have to follow is in the middle. Probably the hardest of them all (unless you actually play the drums, for a living, or hobby) has to be the drums, which follow the same rule as the guitar, only this time you have four colours for each of the drum pads, and then an orange line will roll down the screen, which means its time to hit that kick drum, which can be very hard to do when your so caught up in trying to get the pads right at the same time, and you can be keeping a steady rhythm and then all of a sudden, one piece will change and will mess you up for a good few seconds while you try to get back in to the swing of things.
For each of the different roles in Rock Band, you will see special white notes/lines, which if you hit properly...

Ten's Top Ten Welsh Bands
Review of Top 10 Musicians/Bands by
mrten_8
Advantages: Covers a lot of genres, You might find your new favourite Band..
Disadvantages: None, they're all amazing ; )
...Well, here I am, my first foray into the wilderness that is the Ciao Café. Oooohh errrrrr....
As a Welshman, and a bit of a fan of the South Wales Music Scene, I thought it was my duty to try and spread the word of some up and coming, and some already well known Welsh bands. You might have heard of them before, you might have never heard of them before. Either way, all of these bands are worth your time, especially if you're into the genre of music they play. I give you, Ten's Top Ten Welsh Bands.
First off, 5 you've might have heard of..

Never Go To Band Camp
Review of American Pie Presents Band Camp DVD by
Nathan_Innit
Advantages: Tad has the Stifler role nailed
Disadvantages: Milking the franchise
...to the band performance, or he will be expelled from school. The education side of things isn't was worries Matt, but missing his final year at school and Prom would be a big blow for anyone in their last year of schooling.
Things begin to fall into place for Matt as he realises by going to band camp he could secretly video them all just like his older brother used to make videos. It's a very strange story, but nevertheless que the scene with Matt ordering boxes of spy equiptment to use. We do get more of an insight into Matt's character than we ever have with a Stifler in the past, because I mentioned earlier not only does Matt look up to his older brother and try to be like him, he's scared not to be like him. And the trademark arrogance comes into play as soon as Stifler arrives at Talloaks Band Camp.
Upon arriving at band camp Matt...

We band of brothers
Review of Band Of Brothers (Tin) by
britum2000
Advantages: As close as it gets to the real thing?
Disadvantages: May be uncomfortably close for some?
...the writing of Stephen Ambrose, an author and biographical historian who has also written about Richard Nixon and Dwight Eisenhower. With the largest budget to date for a television mini-series, over $120 million, Band of Brothers is a story of grandiose proportions that has proven to be one of the most moving and humbling video experiences of my life to date. What amount of money would be considered too high a cost to justify the documentation of a generation of Americans who risked everything, including their lives, so that generations to follow could live in peace and freedom? Don't even try to mention to me, the ramifications of an over-bloated budget and precedent setting expenditures. I just won't listen; it was worth every last dollar. And a final word to those patriotic detractors who are wary of accounts of World War Two which portray...

10 Bands That Should Be In The Limelight More!
Review of Top Ten Underrated Bands by
DixieChick10
Advantages: List of gr8 songs.
Disadvantages: None
...with his appearance but for his lyrics and songs it just fits. 'Wherever You Will Go' may be the most famous but I think their song 'Stigmatized' surpasses it. The lyrics are really touching and it's a shame it's not well known like WYWG. The Calling are an amazing band, but aren't together at the moment because Alex Band is perusing his solo career.
AND FINALLY
1) All American Rejects
What an amazing band. All of their songs are fantastic, they might not be everyone's taste as their audience is mainly teens but in my opinion they don't get the credit they deserve. Their most famous song is 'Dirty Little Secret' which is in many films, mainly She's the Man but isn't their best by far. My favourites are 'Can't Take It' which reminds me of going up a volcano on a bus, whilst having that song on repeat, trying to record the scenery...

Listen to the band (again)
Review of Bell Singles Collection, The - Glitter Band (The) by
TheIncredibleCheeseSandwich
Advantages: Some stonking 70's hit singles
Disadvantages: B sides are a little ropey soundwise
...departure lounges, engines screaming and last goodbyes. For me however this outfits defining moment is the superb The Tears I Cried (yet another top 10 hit) sung by John Springate, a real marker that this was a real band not just a hit machine, where they show they could be just at home on big epic sounding "AOR" numbers as well as the tried and trusted hit formula.
Love In The Sun again shows the group moving in the direction of album song material as does the slightly slower version of People Like You And People Like Me, their last hit in early 1976. This is a real pop sound with a lighter feel than the earlier stomp.
Well that's the hits, as for the B sides watch out, they aren't remastered like the A sides, and their label was Bell, never famous for its soaring production. So you get some muffled sounds and a couple...
