Advantages: Great vocals, Great Lyrics

...After the success of my reviews recently I have decided to review two CD's that I never thought I would review. Here is number 1, Try This by Pink. Who is Pink? Born Alicia Moore, Pink is an American rock chick with an attitude. This shines through into her music and she is famous for her 'I Don't Care' attitude about everything. She has become more famous however for her powerful vocals and lyrics which have made her into the star she is today. She has become of the best singers to perform live (forgot where I read this), giving everything she has into each song. Advantages: Reliable, tolerant, a piece of living history!
Disadvantages: Newer films are sharper and less grainy

...Kodak Tri-X is, I think, the oldest stager on the market: it was around years before I started taking pictures in the late Sixties. Of course, like all the other standard films, it has been modified and improved over the years, but the essential character is unchanged. Resilience is the watchword here. There are sharper films. There are less grainy films. None of them will produce good results in any developer, and none are so tolerant of ill-treatment. There are rumours that you can develop good Tri-X negatives in Brown Windsor soup – and they might well be true! Tri-X was the standard film from the Sixties onwards for press photography because of this tolerance of extreme abuse. ...Tri-ominoes have been on the go for a long time now as I received these as a gift when I was about 10 I think, I'm getting old and I can't remember exactly. The game hasn't aged though and I still find it as much fun to play nowadays as it was back then - maybe even more so now that I can spot the moves better. ***Background*** This game originates back to 1968 and was introduced by the Ideal Toy Co Ltd. Things have now changed and it is Pressman Toy International Ltd that now supplies us with this classic strategy game. ***What's In The Box*** This must be one of the easiest contents list that I have ever done in one of my many games reviews as all it contains is a holder for 56 black triangles with raised white numbers at each of their corners. ...Many years ago when I was at university I would happily spend my days with other likeminded people marching the street holding up banner shouting "Thatcher out!, Thatcher out!". Alternatively we were standing on street corners holding a bucket collecting money for the striking miners. To unwind after a hard day trying to change the world we might well go to see some live music at some local student venue and more often than not there would be Billy Bragg doing another miner's strike benefit gig. ...The first single of the cd, “Trouble” is a great car song; one you can just pull down the windows and turn up the volume. Plus, how can you not like a song that uses the word ‘bejeweled’? ''Try This'' is Pink's third album, where she collabrates with soul singers and the lesser known 'R' and 'B' stars. ''Try This'' is a great pop album, the songs are very varied. There are songs on here which will make you laugh and dance - musical genred tracks of pop, rock, soul and 'R' and 'B' provide an excellent third album from Pink. ''Trouble'' is a soul, jazz pop song. This songs seems very personal, the vocals very loud as is the music which certainley shows the good production on this track. ...I bought this DVD from ASDA a while back as one of my friends was telling me to get it to watch at there house. So I bought it for the fun of it. I got back home that night and quickly put the DVD into the DVD player and was shocked when I saw it. The running time of the two main features are about 52 minutes watching one after another. The DVD was soo amusing but also at the same time was disgusting. At the start of the DVD it shows a small movie of what happens on the DVD, i found this quite sick and funny but the rest was still to come. The are two main parts on the DVD which include:- *Don't Try This At Home *The Career Ender The "Don't Try This At Home" section contains the most action but is incredably funny. ...I started reading the Jack Reacher novels by chance. I had finished all the Patricia Cornwell novels and was desperate for something just as good to read. Then I came across a 2 for 1 offer in Safeways for Persuader and Tripwire. I had never heard of Lee Child before and was a little skeptical, but a 2 for 1 offer and a desperation for something to read led me to making one of the best book purchases ever! Once I had read both of these fantastic books I couldn't wait to make my next purchase. WHSmith helpfully put on a 3 for 2 offer and I bought The Enemy, Visitor and the fast-paced, adrenalin pumped Die Trying. ...but catchy. The Oh My God track features Peaches is a gritty sex song with sensuous vocal play between the two artists. Catch me while I’m Sleeping a husky ballad that all in all is a good song but not Pink’s usual style although she pulls it off well and shows a little of herself in it. Waiting for Love is a long track and one of the best with a chorus you can join in Save My Life is a track that will grow on you in this you hear her telling of other peoples lives and problems rather than her own its has a good beat but not her usual style. Try Too Hard is a loud rock song you can listen to time and time again a classic Pink track. Humble Neighbourhood is very reminiscent of the late 70’s punk / rock music. Walk Away upbeat song of a relationship gone wrong. A good track you can grow fond of. Unwind another song... Read review
