The bliss of putting away the marigolds is reason enough to sing this little machine's virtues from the tree tops! From a practical point of view we have found the smaller capacity a bonus as it fills up quickly enough for our family without having to have smelly dishes waiting to be cleaned or half empty dishwashers being put though a whole cycle (not very eco saving!). We usually just use the normal programme (3) and only occasionally find food left behind. I noticed this at the top of the shelf because it was on offer. 25 tablets for £1.99, saving a 1/3 off the normal price. We have had our dishwasher for a few years now and have come to the conclusion that you get what you pay for where dishwasher tablets are concerned.We prefer the tablet form of detergent purely for ease of use and less mess than powder. We have tried a few budget ranges over the years but find that the tablets do not dissolve or the dishes, especially glasses are left with a film of residue when the wash is finished, and there were many occasions when our food tasted of detergent due to the plates not being cleaned properly. The worst dishwasher I have ever used

Advantages: Slim-line, inexpensive model
Disadvantages: Poor wash quality, 'eco' settings therefore redundant

...Wow. What can I say about this dishwasher without being truly offensive? We bought the Tricity Bendix because we needed a slimline machine to fit into our kitchen when we moved house. With one toddler and another on the way, we needed to get a machine that could at least clear away the bulk of the washing-up: even a small one was better than nothing! The brand we chose was not in stock, so we had to settle for the only other slimline machine they had. The Tricity Bendix did not look as good as the other model but was about £10 cheaper and we were buying a lot of other white goods at the same time. Needless to say, we now wish we'd waited for our original choice! My complaints about this washer are nothing to do with its size. ...Slimline full-height Tricity Bendix dishwasher. With a small family, we felt we didn't need a full size dishwasher, so opted for this slimline model. Being full height, it can accomodate most items that would fit in an ordinary dishwasher, but takes up less space in a small kitchen, and is cheaper to run. Another advantage for a small family is that it is quicker to fill a smaller dishwasher so you are not hanging around with a stinky kitchen waiting to fill the dishwasher before starting a cycle! 3 in 1 Dishwasher Tablets

Advantages: cheap and convenient to use

...We've been using these tablets for over 6 months now without any problems - they're great! They contain the powder, rinse aid and salt so save on buying seperate products. Convenience They are very easy to use. No fiddling with powder spillage or having to keep an eye on the level of rinse aid left in the dispenser. Also if you have an older dishwasher that does not have a salt indicator it saves having to keep an eye on that also. If you do big shopping trips (2 weekly or monthly) then it's easy to see exactly how many tablets are left. Cost The cost for a 25 pack is £1.98 which works out at approx 8p per wash. Asda also do a pack of 50 but every time we're in there they have always run out. Overall there is only about 1p difference per tablet between these box quantities. I haven't been able to compare...

...Having always wanted a dishwasher, but never having the room to put it in my small kitchen, I was delighted to find the Bosch SKT5102 compact dishwasher advertised on the Comet website. Before buying, I did read as much as I possibly could on the product before going to Comet to actually see the model. The size is 45cm x 55 cm x 46cm and it seemed very 'roomy' inside. It takes 4 place settings so is ideal for 1-2 people but not for a family. The noise level is 53dB and uses 12 litres of water per load. Having done my homework, I decided to go ahead and purchase the model. I paid £299.99 plus a small delivery charge (or you can collect if you're strong enough to carry it!).
