The bliss of putting away the marigolds is reason enough to sing this little machine's virtues from the tree tops! From a practical point of view we have found the smaller capacity a bonus as it fills up quickly enough for our family without having to have smelly dishes waiting to be cleaned or half empty dishwashers being put though a whole cycle (not very eco saving!). We usually just use the normal programme (3) and only occasionally find food left behind. This is often down to our useless filling and stacking technique, putting pan handles shoved up against plates so they are too close together etc. There are two wire baskets to fill up with handy bits to hold plates, however this sometimes proves problamatic when putting...

The worst dishwasher I have ever used

Advantages: Slim-line, inexpensive model
Disadvantages: Poor wash quality, 'eco' settings therefore redundant

...Wow. What can I say about this dishwasher without being truly offensive? We bought the Tricity Bendix because we needed a slimline machine to fit into our kitchen when we moved house. With one toddler and another on the way, we needed to get a machine that could at least clear away the bulk of the washing-up: even a small one was better than nothing! The brand we chose was not in stock, so we had to settle for the only other slimline machine they had. The Tricity Bendix did not look as good as the other model but was about £10 cheaper and we were buying a lot of other white goods at the same time. Needless to say, we now wish we'd waited for our original choice! My complaints about this washer are nothing to do with its size. I bought my dishwasher from choice catalogue last may, it cost me £237.49, in fact im still paying for it. Being full height, it can accomodate most items that would fit in an ordinary dishwasher, but takes up less space in a small kitchen, and is cheaper to run. Slimline Dishwaher

Advantages: Economical on electricity and water.
Disadvantages: A little bit noisy.

...I only have a small kitchen, but the arguments in my family when it came to washing the dishes after a meal made buying a 500mm dish washer the best present I could ever get! It has economy settings if you are on a water meter which saves ££££s, and although it is only a 4 place setting machine, I find it more than big enough to accommodate my family - who wouldn't dream of rinsing a cup or glass when they want a drink! It takes about 40 minutes to do a wash on my favourite setting, and it has a rinse and hold programme if you dont have many dishes so that you can stack them and give them a swift blast before washing them when you have accumulated enough to merit a full wash. I have found that it does not make a massive difference to my electricity bill and would estimate that it costs about 3p for every wash and my dishes come out...
