...Tricity Bendix SIE233 - White
The Tricity Bendix SIE233 cooker is all electric and has a combined grill and fan oven with four hot plates on the hob. I bought it online from Boots Kitchen appliances for £160 a year ago and so far so good, its been reliable and kept us fed! The main thing that led me to buy this particular cooker was the price, it was the cheapest fan oven that I could find and I was on a tight budget. Having previously had a fan oven I wasn't willing to comprimise and go for a convection oven which are often cheaper, this model was ideal. I also knew that Tricity Bendix was a well known and popular brand.
According to the person that installed it for me, it was very easy to fit, you do need to supply your own cable and most companies you buy from offer an installation service for an extra charge...

...Anyone who knows me knows that I don't have much luck with anything electrical. I have been married for 6 years and in this time I have had 5 washing machines. When my last washing machine broke we couldn't afford a new one so I was constantly taking my washing to my mums, which is quite difficult when you have three messy kids. My mum finally got sick of doing my washing and thought she would buy me a washing machine for my birthday. This was last April. Now my mum and dad are very smart when it comes to purchasing things. Me, I just go and buy the first cheapest thing I see. Which is maybe why they always break.

Seeing Eye to Toast
Advantages: Eye-level grill, three different burner sizes.
Disadvantages: Oven door has dangerous self-closing mechanism.
...me about cooler drawers being the new black... I was left disillusioned and in no doubt that our ancient, brandless, cooker was possibly the last of its kind - a veritable unicorn amongst the short list of things likely to kill you with a stray beansprout.
So I traipsed back home to find the M.O.D were now on speed dial and my mum strapping on the kevlar and welding mask to safely bake a cake.
This should be the end of the story. An extinct race, the last relic of a growth-accelerated civilisation obsessed with the art of grilled food and a close relative turning bomb disposal into a chocolate raisin cake. But it's not the end of the story, this was only the beginning!

The worst dishwasher I have ever used
Advantages: Slim-line, inexpensive model
Disadvantages: Poor wash quality, 'eco' settings therefore redundant
...Wow. What can I say about this dishwasher without being truly offensive?
We bought the Tricity Bendix because we needed a slimline machine to fit into our kitchen when we moved house. With one toddler and another on the way, we needed to get a machine that could at least clear away the bulk of the washing-up: even a small one was better than nothing! The brand we chose was not in stock, so we had to settle for the only other slimline machine they had. The Tricity Bendix did not look as good as the other model but was about £10 cheaper and we were buying a lot of other white goods at the same time. Needless to say, we now wish we'd waited for our original choice!
My complaints about this washer are nothing to do with its size. It has been a great space saver and I found the stacking trays quite useful in layout. It certainly manages...

Cheap but Crap
Advantages: Cheap
Disadvantages: Exceedingly poor quality
...We have had a Tricity President electric cooker for 4 years. Whilst it was cheap at the time, this one has been a waste of money. The door seals fell off in weeks. The door catch came apart soon after. The oven heater element packed up after 12 months. The hotplates have all failed and had to be replaced. The hotplate supports rusted and broke and had to be replaced. Now the top itself which supports the plates has rusted, and the plates have had to be supported on blocks!A friend who bought the same model just before we did has had identical problems.We would certainly never consider buying another Tricity cooker....

I love my machine!
Advantages: Washes perfectly
Disadvantages: A little slow
...Bought this machine just before Christmas 2005 and I LOVE it. Went for the Tricity Bendix again as my previous washing machine served me for 12 good years of continual use (only changed it as it was looking dated - its still going strong now with a neighbour).
The features are excellent - none of that unecessary digital doings, this just does what it needs to. A good selection of programmes that keep whites WHITE.
The cycles do take almost two hours for an ordinary 40 degree wash - but it takes larger loads and has a great spin speed.
This would be a great machine for the larger family where loads are slightly larger, but also ideal for single person, couple or small family.
A basic looking machine with great features - buy one today! This machine is so quiet!!...
