Cullmann 54100 Euro Uno Stativ/Tripod
Review of Cullmann Jet-Set 52013 Tripod by
PaulineLees
Advantages: Lightweight, Sleek and attractive looking, Easy to use, Affordable
Disadvantages: Possibly too light for heavier equipment
...My tripod is the Cullmann 54100 Euro Uno Stitiv/Tripod
This is the first time I have purchased a tripod of my own, having researched the market I decided to buy mine at a Photographers Exhibition so at a reduced price.
Having only previously used second hand tripods found in charity shops, made of heavy metal and designed in a bulky style. I was very pleased when testing the newer tripods, that weight has been considerably reduced, and the style and shape has been streamlined for convenient handling and transporting.
The Cullmann 54100 has a handy carry handle that allows easy transport. It is also extremely light. Not so light that it topples over when standing, but light enough to be manageable.
Easy to use, the camera fixes nicely into place via a plastic square that detaches from the tripod and fixes to the bottom...

A Great Tripod
Review of Vanguard VT 133 Tripod by
Pictoria
Advantages: Great piece of equipment for great photos
Disadvantages: Sometimes can get blown about a little if the winds too strong
...I bought my Vanguard VT 133 about 2 years ago from a local camera shop that was closing down so I got this product brand new for about £15.99 when other shops where selling it at about £50.00 mark, some lower, some shops slightly higher. The tripod was bought not long after I had purchased my camera from the same shop.
The tripod is fully complete and has a quick release system and tilts in the direction you would want all with a nice hand controlled lever, which is very easy to use making this very convenient to use as a travelling companion Fully folded this tripod closes upto around 21 inches and is very light to carry around..
I have both a Nikon F65 35mm SLR and a Sharps Video camera,, also for a period had the used of a medium format camera from the college where I attend.. This tripod well suited all cameras used...

Lycos Tripod UK, formerly tripod.co.uk
Review of tripod.co.uk by
MJKerr
Advantages: php MySQL
Disadvantages: Access for Europe ONLY
...Tripod Site Builder was acquired by Lycos early in 2002. The service was transerred to the US, but a completely new service was provided for Europe, offering new support based on php and MySQL.
Unlike the old service which supported CGI, the new service allows members far more control over their content. This includes .htaccess for customized error404 pages and anti-theft of images (once configured). It is also possible to password protect folders.
The service is designed with all ranges of experience in mind, from people who have never built a website to those wanting to create interactive websites supporting WAP applications!
The "free" accounts offer 50MB, with a username forming part of your website address. A variety of adverts are used, but most only appearance once a day.
It is also possible to upgrade to remove...

Try Tripod!
Review of tripod.co.uk by
nanobot
Advantages: Fast, free and simple
Disadvantages: You need to add some HTML for backgrounds etc.
...The Tripod Homepage Builder is relatively easy to use when compared with most other homepage building services. You can choose from two building methods: pure HTML for the professional, or the quickpage builder for the beginner or those who want a simpler page construction technique.
I always use the simpler method, but it does help if you are capable of adding or changing some parts of HTML where needed (such as to add background pictures, music, etc.). At first your page may seem plain and simple, but after a while you may pick up some hints and tips about HTML, in which case you’ll be able to jazz up your page. A good site for those looking for HTML codes is Funky Chickens at:
http://funky-chickens.com/
If you are looking around the Tripod site for the simpler method, look for a link that directs you to the original Homepage...

Tripod is free
Review of tripod.co.uk by
gravin
Advantages: Free
Disadvantages: Banner ads on pages
...http://www.tripod.co.uk/index.html
I have put three sites up on Tripod and have found them OK. Apart for the banner ads that pop-up on each page, that is unless your register and pay for a domain name. I haven't used the Homepage Builder as it is very basic and does not allow you to create a very pleasing site.
I would think that a newcomer to web page authoring may have a little trouble using their builder. I would suggest learning something like Frontpage and uploading that to your Tripod web space. Tripod does support Frontpage Extensions so you will have no problem putting page counters etc on your site. They have also built a community for web page sumitters called Pods. I haven't used it but I should think that many people do. For free web hosting Tripod is not too bad....

Tripod is excellent, easy to use and FREE
Review of tripod.co.uk by
poet831
Advantages: FREE, 10MB, easy to navigate and use, lots of tools
Disadvantages: The banner pop-up, if oyu do not incorporate the advertising on oyur web page
...I've been with Tripod (albeit the American site) since 1997, (Tripod UK since 1998) and I think it's the best webhosting place you could ask for. For starters, it's FREE and they give you 10MB, but that's not all. It doesn't matter if you are a novice at the whole web-page game or an absolute HTML superstar - the site is easy to navigate, and there are tools for all levels of webmasters to create great looking pages. They cater for everyone. Uploading files is easy, and what's really nice for the non-techno, is that they take you through stuff in easy-to-understand language. Some things, step by step. They have hit counters, images library, guest books - take your pick. Now with Trellix, you can get a really professional looking website and do it all yourself.
But Tripod is much more than just a web-page provider. It...

Tripod to try
Review of Giottos VT-808 by
Morgenhund
Advantages: very stable, cheap price, robust
Disadvantages: none for its intended usage
...I was looking for a tripod for my Dimage 5 digital camera, as I was going to be taking a lot fo photos from a vantage point on high (from the gallery at a cricket tournament) and plumped for the Giottos VT-808 – a tripod that is really aimed at the camcorder market, although which also suits a larger digital camera, and was a very reasonable EUR 50 (approx £31) in Hartlauer Optik, in Vienna.
Surely a tripod is a tripod is a tripod, you’ll say? Well there were other models around the same price bracket, but I ultimately plumped for this one for several reasons. Giottos make all sorts of tripods and stands, and have won many awards, and this is another great product, my first experience being using their flash lighting stands when I used to do a lot of photography at school.
1) Robust construction/Stability
This was the only...
