Review of British West Indian Airlways - BWIA by
bazza1603
Advantages: Better to Walk If Able.None at all unless you like to fly on elderly aircraft
Disadvantages: Poor basic customer service. No backup if flight is delayed.
...British West Indies Airlines (BWIA) have recently added a Manchester to Port of Spain service Via Barbados to their UK destination. The route is serviced by there one and only Tristar aircraft, which has recently transferred from the London services. The London route is now operated by a Air Canada Airbus painted in BWIA colours as BWIA couldnot afford to buy new aircraft which it had on order from Airbus.
Routes
++++++
The flight operates from Manchester to Port of Spain via Barbados every Friday and Sunday. The return journey comes back on Thursday and Sunday Evenings. This flight offers connections with both BWEE Express and LAIT onto other Caribbean Island but before you do read the bit on Bridgetown airport.
Bridgetown Airport
++++++++++++++
I would not recommend changing at Bridgetown airport as it is the worst...

INTRODUCTION
*************************************************************
The word "deviant" comes from the Latin roots: 'de' meaning 'from' and 'via' meaning 'the road.' One who wades from the road or gets lost, one who separates from the crowd. Of course, nowadays, the word refers to someone whose sexual practices are abnormal. This is the story of Stuart, Alex and me...

Bodily Fluids Cigars and a Crazy Dr. Strangelove
Review of Doctor Strangelove (Wide Screen) by
ChrisJarmick
Advantages: George C. Scott, Peter Sellars, Brilliant script, Kubrick
Disadvantages: Dated special effects. Those not familiar with Cold War details will find less to admire.
.... Strangelove. It's actually a film owned by Columbia-Tristar and not Warner. The packaging of the new Columbia-Tristar release and the updated DVD which is part of the new and improved Warner Bros.collection is all that differs. The DVD disc contents are the same.
Most of the film is sharp and well defined, some moire' effects are seen every so often and usually visible around the rims of eyeglasses in some scenes. Black levels are deep and consistent throughout the film and low light scenes are not a problem. There does appear to be several minor flaws with the print of the film itself and very noticeable with some of footage shot for some of the composite special effect type shots (showing the plane flying). These are only of minor distraction and quite frankly to be expected in a film nearly 40 years old.
The Dolby 2.0. mono...

Must be my lucky day
Review of The Thirteenth Floor (Wide Screen) by
KRMkD
Advantages: Extras (DVD only), Originality, Style, Flair, Intreguing
Disadvantages: Harsh age rating
...sequence. This layout is very similar to most other Columbia Tristar science-fiction DVDs; the same font, with their presentation clear, relevant and well thought-out. They do seem to put a bit of effort into their productions, and this does not go unnoticed.
Sound and vision - After a beautifully sharp, crisp opening sequence, the real encapturing aspect of the film is the colour schemes and special effects between the two worlds; the past being most washed out, yet still elegantly pictured and portrayed. In the extra features available, one can see how special effects were used to transform the same buildings and areas giving futuristic and historical looks for the present and past times respectively. Nothing is left out in this film. You have the strong, deep and dark colours in the futuristic world, with dark blues, black, pierced...

Both versions reviewed
Review of Men In Black (Special Limited Edition) (Wide Screen) by
Manic_Mike
Advantages: Brilliant just brilliant
Disadvantages: None
...You have to be careful when reading these opinions because although the title refers to the special edition of this disc I noticed that some of the opinions are talking about the limited edition edition.
In a wonderful attempt to make money out a popular film Columbia Tri-star have released two versions both with 'Special' style titles. The first being 'Men In Black Special Edition', a title usually reserved for the second release of a film. To clear up the confusion this is the one with the black cover, featuring Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith. This itself is an excellent DVD containing not only the usual Trailers and Character profiles but a host of other interesting features.
There is a wonderful on-screen commentry with director Barry Sonnenfeld and Tommy Lee Jones. You can see thier sillouetes at the bottom...

Pure Genius
Review of Real Genius (Wide Screen) by
welshfruitbat
Advantages: Very funny film
Disadvantages: Nothing
...really funny to cheer me up - and this film proved to be it.
Real Genius is rated 15 and runs for 102 minutes. It was originally released in 1985 By Tristar Picture Inc. This DVD was released in 2002 by Columbia Tristar Home Entertainment. It cost £7.99.
This disc comes in a normal plastic DVD case with the title of the film and a picture of Val Kilmer on the front. Val is sat on an office desk, wearing a shirt and shorts with an 'I love toxic waste' tee shirt underneath.
The film is about a boy called Mitch Taylor (played by Gabe Jarret). Mitch is an extremely gifted fifteen year old. He applies to go to Pacific Technical College (even though he is about five years too young.) At a Winter Science Fayre, Professor Hathaway (played by William Atherton) a teacher at the College arrives to tell Mitch he has been accepted.

Godzilla Vs. Ferris Bueller
Review of Godzilla DVD by
Flash-Hammer
Advantages: Special Effects
Disadvantages: Basically everything else
...at the helm of a Sony funded Tristar pictures remake of Godzilla.
Now, the signs should have been clear from kick-off. Anyone remember the De Laurentis King Kong?, but the fact was, all of the three movies I mentioned above were fun, action packed hits, surely by following the same basic formula that had worked to some degree for Toho in 26, at the time, movies , Godzilla would be along the same lines, finally restoring the pride of the King of the Monsters?
Devlin and Emmerich weren't the first to try and bring the King of the Monsters to Western audiences, throughout the 1990s, director Fred Dekker tried his best to get a Godzilla movie that while changing the lore of the creature's origin, making it a mystical beast whose flame breath was caused by glands that put out a gas flammable when combined with oxygen, Dekker's Godzilla...

Review of America`s Sweethearts DVD by
LR_17
Advantages: Billy Crystal on top form!!
Disadvantages: Weak plot!
...:))
Well that's about it for the DVD itself, although I do have two more things to mention. When I bought my copy, inside the box was a little booklet with some backround information about the movie, such as where they shot it, who produced it and a little on the director Joe Roth. I won't spoil it too much, becuase it may give away the film!! Also inside the box was a Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment DVD Questionnaire. I have never actually filled this out and I don't think I'll bother to be honest! If you do buy this DVD, you may have these things that I have mentioned above I don't know!
Now onto the best bits of the review!!
Columbia Tristar Home Entertainment Pictures presents Julia Roberts, Billy Crystal, John Cusack, Catherine Zeta Jones and Hank Azaria in America's Sweethearts.

Comfort at 35,000 feet
Review of Britannia Airways - BAL by
phil8561
Advantages: clean planes, friendly staff, fast check-in, extra baggage allowance
Disadvantages: not having the veg meal that was asked for this year
...I regularly fly on bigger passenger planes then Britanna has in it's inventory due to being ground crew in the Royal Air Force for the Tristars but i can say that their smaller jets have more passenger legroom than one of our Tristars (and i usually get a row of 3 seats to myself on those ).
Having used Britanna now for the past three years on long haul fights (10 Hours) to Jamaica it is an air line i am very happy to fly with.
I can't really comment on the booking of the flights as it has always been booked at the same time as we book our holiday through Thompson which makes things easy we have always paid the little extra which was £150 per person for the permium seats as these include express check-in at the airport so no more long lines, seat back or hand held monitors, your choice of meals which you dont have to pay...
