.... . I have just had to go check which version mine is, there is no number, it is just called the Triton Aqua Sensation. The age of mine? Well, it must be about ten years old now, so I think that qualifies as standing the test of time. Triton have a very good name in shower circles, or should that be cubicles? and these models can be fitted slightly off the wall so it can be easily tiled after it has been fitted. Mine is actually a power shower, although in "non power mode" it seems as good as any other make of shower.The thermostat seems to keep the temperature just right, you just "dial up" the temp you want, and the whole thing is easy to keep clean. I have heard that showers can be noisy, but not in this case, the only place there is any real noise is in the shower itself, and you are only in there for a matter...

Triton Unichrome Dart - a great way to shower.

...I have just had a Triton Dart II thermoststic concentric mixer shower fitted for £308 and wow! what a shower. Firstly the shower is very stylish in chrome and looks very chic. Secondly it is very easy to use:- to start the shower all I have to do is turn the On/Off flow control fully clockwise and to stop the shower just turn the control fully anti- clockwise. To adjust the showering temperature all I have to do is rotate the temperature control - clockwise for cooler and anti-clockwise for hotter. Simple. However, the best thing about this product is that it is child friendly. By that I mean that it is fitted with a maximum temperature stop set at 38 degrees centigrade - so it is perfectly safe for children to use. This maximum temperature stop can be overridden at any time by depressing a button at the 12o'clock position...

I'm very happy to shower this Gainsborough with praise

Advantages: Simple to use, ample shower power and neat looking
Disadvantages: none for the price although it does feel a little too 'plastic' when installing

...A while back I was given a new shower, still in its box, which was nice, and as the shower I already had in my bathroom was put there by William the Conqueror I decided to install this brand new freebie, even if it was supposed to be a temporary matter. But after a few uses I realised that this was quite a good little shower and well worth leaving in for quite a while, or until it broke anyway. The shower in question is the Gainsborough Electric shower, which is a brilliant white colour and comes in a few power ratings, ranging from a 7.5KW to a hefty 10.5KW, but the one I am reviewing is the 8.5KW at 240 volts, power rating option ( albeit 7.8KW at 230 volts). NOTE: The higher the KW of the shower the more likely you will have to have your wiring and plumbing changed, although 8.5KW is more the norm for most houses...

...I picked up this 10.8kw shower on offer in Homebase for £58. At the time I wasnt too keen on its looks but having owned Mira showers before and with the price I knew I couldnt go too far wrong. Since then it has grown on me but a word of warning when it comes to fitting. The inlet on this shower is a rotatable plastic pipe that requires a plastic push fit connector. Miras instructions state that it can be used for bottom top and rear entry because of this, mine was a new installation so I opted for rear entry to make things neater and cut the tiles as required to fit the pushfit connector. However due to its design the inlet pipe is very close to the left hand side of the shower housing so when mounted on the wall there is an obvious gap showing thart isnt totally covered when the top cover is placed on the shower. It is an old house, having been built in 1896 and it was previously used as a guesthouse. Consequently there are certain things in the house that were geared to the comfort of the guests. One of my real loves in this house is the shower cubicle. At our old house in the Midlands we had a shower over the bath in a very tiny bathroom so when anyone took a shower the entire bathroom got soaked and it was so much trouble to clean everything I usually had a bath instead!
