...This is my second Daytona 900, so I guess I like them. I had a VFR750 in between. The Daytona is a good long distance fast tourer. It is not a sports bike and if thats what you want I would look to one of the newer Daytonas or another bike altogether. It sweeps through bends and is very stable at speed but it doesn't have the fast steering of a sports bike or the insaine power band. The power is smooth and progresive, there is plenty but it doesn't come all in a rush like alot of sports bikes. The Daytona has a fantastic sense of presence and it is the kind of bike that makes people look to see what it is. Mine is bright red which also probably makes it more noticable. (My last one was black which was very difficult to keep clean) The seat is very comfortable and the pegs are not so high up to be cramped (I'm 5'10"). However... Read review

...Reason for Buying ------------------------- I have always wanted a Triumph ever since they started building them again at Hinkley. Although I was a little young when they first came out and had only just passed my test. Another reason was that old guys used to come up to me when I was parked up and start a conversation along the lines of: "now thats a nice looking bike - the only problem with bikes these days is that they are all Japanese - I used to have a Vincent/BSA/Norton etc when I was a lad . . . . " A Test Ride ---------------- Due to job, time and money I had to get bikes more to do with what I could afford at the time. I did test ride the 595 when it came out and loved it. ... Triumph Daytona T595 is useless. In the same way an oil painting is useless. I would argue that there is art in both, but I guess that sounds more than a bit pretentious huh? It's art Jim, but not as we know it... By way of an explanation... many motorcycles serve a purpose, whether it's transport, touring holidays, or racing for instance. They are designed with a purpose in mind, and many of their features are adapted to better fit their purpose. The Daytona simply wasn't designed this way. It was designed for no particular purpose at all other than to be itself. It's impractical as transport as you can't ride it slowly, it's too uncomfortable and thirsty for touring, plus there is nowhere convenient to store any luggage. There are even faster bikes... ...I bought this 2002 lime green Tiger in 2003. It was Triumph's own show bike and had 37000 on the clock. It has been serviced by the local Triumph dealer and was in perfect condition. It had colour coded panniers (a set of three) and heated grips already attached. Firstly I am only 5'6" and I have always had large bikes. The Tiger is tall but so well balanced that it doesn't bother me that I can only get half of one foot down. The fuel economy is fantastic. I managed 170 miles for £12. I make that 48mpg. This makes the theoretical maximum fuel range about 250 miles as it is a 24 ltr tank. I have now run until the fuel light comes on at 212 miles, it was still at 48mpg. I didn't have the guts to run much further but I suggest the 250 maximum range is easily reachable if you need to do so. The 955i (Daytona) engine is fantastic... Read review

...About a year ago, my husband and I purchased a Triumph Daytona 900. M registration in Teal green, in very good condition. The mileage was quite low and the price was right. Since that day my husband has taken it to work everyday with no troubles at all, apart from the right hand switchgear going all wrong and the starter button stopped working but we got a new switch for it. Finding parts secondhand or from breakers can prove difficult for Triumphs because they seem to still be on the roads rather than crashed! I would say this is the case because they are definitely not the sort of bike that you throw around like you would a Hyabusa or GSXR 1100 etc maybe!?! This bike is comfortable for both rider and pillion although after riding for a long period of time, you tend to find that the next day your arms are killing you... Read review

...Calling all lanky dispatchers, If you're fed up with locking knee joints and rider's cramp. This is for YOU. The Tiger is a great all round mean machine even if you don't do dispatch work, It's taller than almost all road bikes making it great for all the taller people who love the open air. The price is very reasonable too when compared to the majority of other modern bikes. For myself comfort is a must, and as of yet I've not found a bike to compete. You can ride for miles without that irritating leg stretching and cramp, not to mention the back ache. Being a very upright bike back ache is eliminated completely. What about the mechanical side? For starters you have a world known renowned British name you can trust in both on the road and on the track, in fact it's the same engine in the Triumph Daytona, all that's added... Read review

...Triumph Daytona 600; 2002 - 2005; £3000 - £4500; Insurance NU14 In 2002 Triumph released the Daytona 600 sportsbike. A 599cc in-line four engine with 103bhp and 59ft.lb of torque. The Daytona was the evolution of the TT600 model which was loved and hatd at the same time by all those that rode it. The styling on the tt was questionable and the fuel injection was as rough as sandpaper but, thanks to an incrediblely developed chassis the TT handled like nothing else and the brakes where phenomenal. Although the Daytona was an evolution of a current model it was clear from the off that this was a very different beast. The chassis and brakes were largely unchanged except for a few minor tweaks that improved on an already very capable package but the rest of the bike was a completely different story. ...I have mixed feelings about Daytona, but having travelled to Orlando on holiday, it was one of the places I felt I had to see. It is approximately one to one and a half hours drive from Orlando and very, very different from the commercialism of Orlando/Disney. When we were there it was the build up to the Daytona 500 and it was very busy. We visited Daytona Speedway when the cars were practising and did the "tour" where a small train takes you through the tunnel on the infield, awesome, you really dont realise the sheer scale of the place until you are in the middle of it. You are given all the information you need to know about the Speedway and if you are lucky may see some cars practising. Considering how famous Daytona is you really shouldnt miss it. The tour lasts about half an hour but I cant recall how much it was... Read review
