The neighbours will hear you coming...
Review of Triumph Daytona T595 by
peteshone
Advantages: Fast, British, Monstrous Noise, Character, Reliability, Looks
Disadvantages: Too fast for road, committed handling, lots of yellow ones
...
Triumph Daytona T595 is useless.
In the same way an oil painting is useless.
I would argue that there is art in both, but I guess that sounds more than a bit pretentious huh? It's art Jim, but not as we know it...
By way of an explanation... many motorcycles serve a purpose, whether it's transport, touring holidays, or racing for instance. They are designed with a purpose in mind, and many of their features are adapted to better fit their purpose.
The Daytona simply wasn't designed this way. It was designed for no particular purpose at all other than to be itself.
It's impractical as transport as you can't ride it slowly, it's too uncomfortable and thirsty for touring, plus there is nowhere convenient to store any luggage. There are even faster bikes...

Motorcycle jackets
Review of Motorcycle Clothing by
Immokk
Advantages: Protection, style.
Disadvantages: Money!
...I decided to write this as I recently became a motorcycle enthusiast. I needed to buy things... I already had a decent helmet, gloves and boots but I needed a more winter orientated jacket. So I went shopping.
High street.
First there are high street motorcycle accessory stores. They tend to be very limited in motorcycle jackets... I wanted leather and not textile and found it difficult to find one. The second store I found was particularly useless as the cheapest jacket (although incredibly stylish) was 299 pounds and quite simply, I don'thave that sort of money.
Motorcycle dealers
Slightly cheaper and much more choice, I found. The bigger and more well known the store the better the range. Although most jackets I found were either two piece or brightly coloured (Not what I was looking for) and again the prices didn't vary...

Maclaren Triumph Triumphs!
Review of Maclaren Europe Limited Triumph by
danmclovin
Advantages: Lighweight & compact!
Disadvantages: Not many reclining positions!
...I bought the Maclaren Triumph stroller as a lightweight, more convenient method of transport for my little boy. I felt that there was no longer a need to take the travel system pram everywhere, and the Maclaren Triumph turned out to be the perfect replacement.
The Triumph is very lightweight and compact, and even comes with a shoulder strap so that you can close it up and sling it over your shoulder when not in use ... that's how lightweight it is. The stroller is made from a very sturdy aluminium frame, and comes with every accessory you would expect from a top quality pushchair, a hood, shopping basket, rain cover and inter-changeable harness'.
The stroller has a 5-point safety harness, and the shoulder straps are height adjustable. The stroller is very easy to open out and also folds neatly. The handles are foam insulated...

The Herald - A True British Triumph
Review of Triumph Herald by
the_mad_cabbie
Advantages: Ahead of its time
Disadvantages: Handled very poorly. Slow.
...~ ~ When I was a teenager back in 1963, the first car my father ever bought was an old Ford Anglia in which I learned my basic driving skills.
Three years later it was traded in, and a brand spanking new car arrived on the doorstep.
A Triumph Herald 12/50, in lovely gleaming white, matching white colour-coded rubber bumpers, with a canvas slide-back sunroof, and to top it all, a RADIO.
This was nirvana for a 15-year-old boy heavily into the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, and all the popular music of the time, and a vast improvement on the old Dansette transistor radio that had sat on the dashboard of the old Anglia, which had truly dreadful reception.
~ ~ In those days cars still had to be “run in”, and great care was taken for the first thousand miles, with no heavy strain being put on the engine, and the top speed limited (by...

The Complete Story of Heartbreak and Triumph?
Review of WWE - Shawn Michaels - Heartbreak And Triumph DVD by
MizzMolko
Advantages: Some good, insightful moments and 'forgotten' matches
Disadvantages: Almost the same as the autobiography, lacking depth in some places
...the 'Boyhood Dream' and 'From The Vault' collections, what excited me most about the 'Shawn Michaels Story: Heartbreak & Triumph' set was due to the fact that it wouldn't be purely matches featured on the disks, or even simply interviews and commentaries by himself. Instead, in many ways, this 2007 DVD release would be a series of interviews and opinions from Shawn's peers and critics that would act as an extension to his autobiography from 2006, chronicling the life and times of a wrestler who had worked in many companies before his illustrious WWE run, including the now defunct World Class Championship Wrestling and the American Wrestling Association.
WHY DID YOU BUY IT, I HEAR YOU CRY?
Well, to put it simply, Shawn is my favourite wrestler of all time. I've loved and respected his work since I was six years old, in fact, the first ever...

Essex Triumph dealer.
Review of Ongar Motorcycles Ltd by
wildtinsey
Advantages: Fully stocked spares department.
Disadvantages: Long wait for services.
...This is the dealership for Triumph in the Essex area. It has a showroom on the ground floor with a further showroom and parts shop upstairs.
They have a fully equiped workshop on the premises and all the staff are friendly.
The local RAT pack is based here too, (RAT = Riders Association of Triumph), they organise rides out and also excursions to the Triumph factory.
I bought my Triumph Trophy from them and shortly after i bought it from them it wasnt running correctly so took it straight there and they looked at it for me there and then. I couldnt have asked for better service.
As they are a good dealers you will find that there is quite a long wait to be fitted in to the service department especially during peak riding seasons, or just before.
They carry the most commonly requested spares for all the Triumph models and the prices...

My Favourite Thing is A Motorcycle called Bessie
Review of Everything that starts with B ... by
Night_Rider
Advantages: She is a stunner
Disadvantages: She leaks oil
...To celebrate a four-year cancer free period for Jill Murphy I would like to tell you about the love of my life.
My favourite thing
I know here I should choose my Wife, children or animals they all know I love them but the real love of my life has to be my motorcycles. Over the years I have owned and ridden many types(still do)but will tell you about one in particular.
My favourite called Bessie
Triumph 3TA
I was working away from home doing some building work and it was whilst I was renovating a building that I met the owner of Bessie. The first time I ever saw her she was delegated to the back of an old mans garage in Cornwall. She had seen better days, as she was very old and decrepit. The old man had decided to restore her eventually. After two years of visiting both my friend and of course the bike he found out...

A Triumph for this old Norton!
Review of The Motorcycle Diaries DVD by
fizzytom
Advantages: First hand sources used for authenticity; funny, charming and thought-provoking
Disadvantages: Subtitles unpopular with some viewers
...Ernesto "Che" Guevara is a character on whom opinion is fiercely divided. He is seen, on the one hand, as a freedom-fighting hero who, despite a debilitating illness and the "burden" of a middle-class up-bringing, never lost sight of his goals, dedicating his adult life to fighting imperialism and creating a more just society, expecially in countries that had been exploited by the United States. Others see him as nothing more than a terrorist - someone thirsty for adventure, a "gun-for-hire" moving from country to country wherever a guerilla movement wanted him to whip up their men.
The "Motorcycle Diaries" is an account, taken form Ernesto's own diaries, chronicling his trip by motorcyle in 1952, through South America with his cousin Alberto Granado. Not only does the film stick closely to the material in the diaries, but Granado...

Triumph Spitfire - a REAL car
Review of Triumph Spitfire by
LennyMan
Advantages: A piece of history, a genuine sports car
Disadvantages: You need to be commited
...I have just bought my second Spitfire. However, both are going to be a project to keep me sane.
The Triumph Spitfire is a true example of British 1960's - 70's sports car. The Spitfire came in various guises, The Spitfire 4, Spitfire Mk II, Mk III, Mk IV, Mk V and GT6 (I think there may be a few more as well!)
The Triumph is based on a real chassis with a 'body tub', hinged bonnet and wings. The dashboard is normally walnut, with old-style leather seats. This is strictly a two-seater (don't even think about trying to use the 'plus 2'!) and comes with both soft top and hard top options. Legroom is great (even for me at 6'2" !!!)
The engines range from the 1300cc to 2200cc (although there are various 'modification' variants out there), with the 1300cc and 1600cc sporting twin SU style carbs.
Working on this car is a dream...

Traditional Motorcycle.
Review of Triumph Legend TT by
Ballacraine
Advantages: Classic styling, budget price, low seat height.
Disadvantages: No frills, not much chrome (for me that is an advantage!)
...On first sight this bike looked to me like a sixties Triumph twin on steroids. It uses a tasteful satin black finished T3 series triple engine housed in a frame that enables shorties like me to easily reach terra firma (a definite plus point). It is a traditional bike that will commute, tour (saddle my be a little firm for some), & it has enough ability to scratch too. It definitely isn't a sport bike. The suspension is firm at the rear & softish at the front. The single disc is adequate rather than stunning.
I used it as a starting block to build my own idea of what a Triumph should be. The support from the manufacturer was less than impressive. The standard seat fixing is something worthy of a backyard special. It is agony to get the screws in & out. The access is very poorly designed. I complained forcefully at the time (Mine...
