Feeding ********* If you don't feed them then they will not last for very long! It is very important that you get the feeding right as if you overfeed the tank will get polluted very quickly with the excess food rotting in your tank causing the water quality to go down. I find that the best method to use is to add one pinch of food at a time. The general rule is to feed them as much as they can eat in 2 minutes. I feed my fish every other day and I only feed them in the morning. I have known people, when they have had their first tank to over feed their fish as they say that their fish are hungry. This really depends on how many fish you intend to keep and what species they are. If you only want a few small fish then a little 12x12x12 tank would be ideal. But if say you want to house a Oscar a much larger tank will be required. Ask at your local fish stockist for more information on this. Asking the sales man about the extra things I would require to keep them led me to the purchase of a 50watt heater and budget air pump, along with the fish. But as I didnt know what I was doing I managed to kill these fish fairly quickly. So after a chance discovery of another aquarium shop (Cascades near Ripon), I bought a few more fish but once again they died fairly quickly - in a matter of weeks. But in this time I had also purchased a second hand Jewel 80ltr with the accessories for it to be a tropical set up, I paid just £60 for what if I'd purchased it in a shop would have been nearer £200 worth of kit (tank with hood and light, two filters one which is the Jewel one that came with the tank and an IPF Duo with aeration...

...of the latest editions I tried is the Muller Healthy Balance Corner: Tropical and Granola. The Healthy Balance Corners have been available for a while, but only recently have they introduced the 'and Granola' range. Before trying the tropical one, I had sampled the strawberry option, which I adored. There is also a raspberry one but I am struggling to find it. With such a great success from the strawberry and granola corner though, I was looking forward to this one incredibly. These Healthy Balance options come in a pack of two, unlike the other Corners which are sold either separately or in a multi pack of six.
