...In this weather, Harry is drinking like a fish, and even though I take out a big cup of juice for him, it's usually gone by the time we get to town! So I've started to look at little drinks that I can pop in my bag for him when we run out. I did use Fruit Shoots for a while but he was getting hyper from them, and to be honest, they weren't all that nice and tasted so artificial! So when I popped to the supermarktet yesterday and saw these new Tropicana Go! drinks on buy-one-get-one-free offer, I thought they'd be worth a try for Harry! Tropicana Go! are a new drink for children, but the difference with these compared to similar drinks on the market is the fact that these contain 70% fruit juice and 30% water, and thats it! There's no colourings, additives, sweetners or added sugar at all, and that appealed to me straight away...

...Solero are amongst my favourite ice cream due to the fact that there is no compromise on taste despite being only 99 - 106kcal per ice-cream and about 1.2g to 2.9g of fat. The solero smoothie range are a new edition by Walls rather than the normal 'solero exotic'. I'm reviewing the 'Strawberry and banana' flavour because these were the ones we picked up in Asda as a box of 3 for just £1! There is also a blackberry and banana flavour in the range. Firstly, I'll point out that Solero's are made from ice cream with a sorbet coating. Sorbet is traditionally low in fat and calories because it's nothing more than fruit juices, water and sugar. ...It seems that wherever I go these days I'm being reminded about the importance of getting the recommended 5 portions of fruit and veg a day. I do try to eat healthily and have a good balanced diet, but I must admit I sometimes find it hard to get my 5-a-day. I decided to give smoothie making a try after seeing a demonstration on one of the TV cooking programmes. It looked like a simple way to boost my daily fruit intake and unlike juicing, the whole fruit is used, so you get more goodness. You can use an ordinary jug blender/liquidiser for smoothie making, although there are now lots of specialist smoothie makers on the market.
