.... The Nougat Decadent Bath Truffles are available in a pack of five and the truffles are supplied in a round cardboard container which has a lovely little ribbon tied to the top of it. On the top of the container it clearly tells us that the contents are Decadent Bath Truffles and that they are made in England by Nougat Body to Home. The packaging for the truffles isn't overloaded with details, labels and pictures, its just nicely coloured and simplistic looking. Inside the container there are five Decadent Bath Truffles in two different colours, I have two creamy coloured ones and three pink coloured ones in my container. As soon as you lift the round lid off of the container you can immediately smell the really creamy Jasmine and Tuberose fragrance, which is Nougats signature scent for most of their products. ...Alcohol Truffles Selection From Thorntons As I mentioned in my review of thorntons.co.uk, there's a Thorntons store near where I live and I visit it frequently when I want to buy an item or two and not a big present. Last time I bought Alcohol Truffles Selection which includes three kinds: champagne, whisky, and rum. The box is small and beige in colour, and it contains two small bags; eight truffles in each of them, and they are 200g all in all. The expiry date and ingredients can be found on the bottom of the box. It costs £6.25. The chocolates are round in shape, of course, and not wrapped individually. The chocolate filling with alcohol is creamy and soft, and the outer chocolate shell that envelopes it is somewhat thick and this makes it a bit hard, but not too much; nothing to worry about. ...Safeway Belgium Truffles These truffles remind of the kind of thing you would be given in a 5 star hotel. You really wouldn’t think they were a supermarkets own brand. I bought some as a gift to someone, but ended up eating them (some of them, the rest by my younger Brother!) Just as you open them you are greeted by a small cloud of rich choc lately dust. This dust is all over the truffles and gives them that extra quality look. They smell very similar to drinking chocolate. ...I recently described my newly begun love affair with a product in the Lindt Petits Desserts range, their Tarte Citron Meringue. It is so lovely words cannot do it justice, and it fully deserved the 5 star rating I bestowed upon it. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for its sister petit dessert, 'Lindt Truffle Cake'. Always one to be on the look out for new things, I spotted this in Bulgaria on my first day and managed to avoid buying it for a week (telling myself it would melt if I bought it too long before our return, but really suspecting that if I'd got it any earlier it wouldn't have even made it into the suitcase and would instead be the culprit for the new chocolate stains on my bikini). Disadvantages: I'm sure it's not cheap; it is quite sweet so not for excessive consumption. A real bummer to get back in the box.

...Viennese Truffles have always been my favourite Thorntons anyway, so when they brought out a bar of it I was in heaven. The first good thing about it is that its not too expensive. It does cost more than a normal chocolate bar, but its so much better that its well worth it. They normally cost about £1, but they do sometimes do offers like buy 2 get 1 free etc. The bar is the perfect size. it is quite sweet and I think if it was much bigger people would feel really sick after eating it, especially as it is covered in sugar!!! The middle is just gooey enough to appreciate, but not so gooey that you end up with it all over your face. And the outside chocolate is nice, thick (which you don't get much anymore) and really, really crunchy. I think it might be a bit too sweet for some people, but on the whole I think... Read review

...I would have preferred to write a review of the classic After Eight mint wafers, but that topic isn't available here. (I know I could ask for it, but never mind.) These After Eight truffles are a direct result of Rowntree's being purchased by Nestle's. Yes, they've practically taken over the chocolate world. They've even gotten ahold of Perugina - makers of Italy's fine Baci chocolate truffles. When a large conglomerate takes over a smaller company, changes will be made. Obviously, Nestle's believed that the popularity of the After Eight thin mint wafers would be a wonderful jumping off point for bigger and better things. The idea is, of course, a good one.
