...This is my first experience using a webcam and all in all it has been a good one. The installation was pain free although you are advised to download the drivers from their website rather than from the cd so you can get the latest version, it took a couple of attempts but this was more to do with a poor broadband connection. The software features are pretty basic even for a novice like me, but as I purchased it for use with voip, for me, it is more than adequate. The picture quality is fantastic but still good, make sure your lighting is good though, the spotlights don't really make that much difference and can also get quite annoying shining into your eyes.However, as long as you're not trying to be Stephen Spielberg I think for £15 it represents good value for money and I would certainly recomend it for anyone who wants a no frills...

Trust Webcam - Great for the price!

Advantages: The price of the product is great at £9.99
Disadvantages: Adjusting the focus is difficult and I broke the headphones as there werent clear instructions

...I first brought this product for £9.99 in a somerfield store when thier new Robert Dyas section was built. I believed that I had a good bargain because webcams appear to be all the range these days and it seems I was right. After taking the webcam out of the box, I installed it on my PC and away I went. The webcam focuses well and the settings can be adjusted by using the softwares easy to use interface. If you require more focusing there is also a dial on the face of the webcam whichs allows you to do so. To show that the webcam is turned on, A little blue light is positioned just below the lens. Also with this webcam there were a pair of headphones, Which although looked good at first, happened to break after I tried putting them on. Perhaps clearer instructions on the box or in the manual may have prevented the disaster from happening...

A neat little webcam, perfect for VOIP.

...Appearance: This is a smallish webcam, although not the smallest I have encountered. It has a silver/grey/black plastic design. A blue LED at the base of the lens tells you when the camera is active. The camera measures about 6 x 4 cm (not including the base). It has a button on the top of the unit (for image capture) & a base/clamp at the bottom. The base has rubber feet for stability on top of your monitor, but also forms part of a clamp should you wish to use the camera with a laptop or TFT monitor. ...Xbox Live is good value compared to some other online subscriptions e.g. World of Warcradt or Everquest as with these you pay everymonth just for one game, whereas with xbox live you only pay once to go online with pretty much all your games. You then get tempted, however, to pay for extra online contect such as extra levels, characters, backdrops for your xbox live dashboard, arcade games etc. etc. So it's never as cheap as it seems! The service on xbox live is good and it's rare to have connection issues so gameplat online tends to be smooth. Occasionally you may shoot at someone only to find they already moved- lag is rare but does happen and can be annoying. The range of games that can be played online is excellent, and isn't just shooting and fighting! Guitar hero plays online brilliantly with options for guitar battles...

...As requested by my male I went out today and bought myself a webcam, so that he can see me when we chat on MSN, not having much money my criteria was that it would be cheap and simple to use. As I also had to visit Asda to buy a couple of blouses for working in I decided to have a look at Asda's range of computer accessories discovering this webcam in the process. The box is small about the size of a mouse box so wont be an overly large item - which on the cluttered PC desk is a good thing. So opening the box at home there is simply a CD Rom, small instruction book and the webcam itself.
