...My appreciation of the internet reached an all-time high, when we checked into the Tryp Hotel Oviedo last summer. It had been discovered, researched and booked all online, and nothing disappointed. 1 Discovering The Hotel Tryp "*"*"*"*"*"*"*"*"**""*"*"*"*"*"*"* My experience really started with the decision to use a no-frills airline to do a cheapie European holiday last summer. The problem was that the cheap flights from Belfast were alll booked up and we could have got a package holiday for the flight costs to Prague, Barcelona and the like. Suddenly, I came on Stelios's new Easyjet route to Asturias from Stansted. I had to get the maps out to find out where it was, and check online to see what the area could offer - it all looked good. We were soon booked for this beautiful part of Northern Spain - reviewed by me elsewhere...

GREAT TRYP!

Advantages: SUN SEA SAND AND ....GOOD FOOD!

...I was luck enough to go to Cuba a short while ago (november 4th 2004) for 17 days at the fabulous tryp cayo coco, what a tryp it was! This is the most amazing hotel and for those who say it isnt..you must be really hard to please...i read many reviews before i went so had very mixed feelings but when i arrived i was just blown away..a true all inclusive hotel with stunning beaches, great people, very friendly staff, excellant well equipped rooms, stunning views, great food ( especially the pasta! ) and i didnt get bit by one mossi! we paid £799 each for 17 days so its real value for money too and i would go back in a flash, im going this year in fact!! same hotel same room everything!! the room itselft was bright and airy with large patio windows and a little private balcony, which wasnt overlooked! we had a hot power shower usable...

A TRYP in Granada

Advantages: Good location, lovely grounds
Disadvantages: Rooms are dreary, poor AC, depressing

...If you've been following my reviews concerning our trip to Andalucia, you'll know that our next port-of-call was Granada. Come to think of it, even if you haven't been reading them you'll know that now anyway...I just told you. Our main reason for visiting Granada was to see the Alhambra which, although it seems to be near the centre of the city, is much more accessible from the ring roads. We therefore decided on a hotel which was close to the main access routes, yet in a peaceful location. So with that in mind, I booked the TRYP ALCANO (part of the Sol Melia group), just 5km from the bustling heart of this ancient city, but conveniently located on a highway close to the ring road. Just to get our bearings straight, the hotel is 5-6 km from the Alhambra, 40 km from the Sierra Nevada ski slopes and 60 km from the beaches...

Tryp of a lifetime

Advantages: fantastic hotel
Disadvantages: buffet can get boring if a la cartes not booked

...Just had the most fantastic holiday at the tryp peninsula. The staff and food were fantastic and the resort was beautiful. We stayed at the tryp from the 16th-26th of february. The staff were great and couldn't do enough to help - (i locked myself out of the bathroom, reported it, and it was fixed in 2 minutes (before we got back to the room!). The maid also exchanged our coffee machine (which was broken) on the second day which we hadn't reported! We have stayed at a great deal of five star resorts around the world and this certainly stood well among some of the hotels in the "leading hotels of the world" brochure. Many people on the website have commented on food- please remember this is a country that does not throw away a potato because it is too small. They are self-sufficient, but to us, the standard was still fantastic...

...Visiting Cuba as a couple, we booked an All Inclusive package deal to the Tryp Cayo Coco, in September 2004. I booked through TVtravelshop.com, who were fantrastic We hadn't shopped around much and booked purely on the price. The Tryp is a very large complex expanding around a large complex of restaurants/bars shops and entertainment. with a large main pool and swim-up bar with ample space to get a much needed drink the comlex was perfect for relaxing by the pool in the constant heat. All Inclusive here did just what it said on the tin! everything-including international beers/drinks, more food than you could possibly eat at any time of day or night and an excellent choice too. ...For our holiday in Cuba we stayed in two separate locations and the Tryp Peninsula was the second location after a few days in the hustle and bustle of Havana. The plan was to do the heavy tourist stuff in Havana and then have a relaxing week on an all inclusive resort. Certainly if you want to experience Cuba and also relax then I would recommend this kind of approach, once you get onto a resort you are pretty shut off from the local population other than hotel workers, in fact staying at the Tryp Peninsula you could effectively be staying on any all inclusive resort in the Caribbean with one exception, no Americans. Not that I'm anti American but their presence does bring with it a certain particular type of tourist (the minority thankfully) whose rudeness, arrogance and loudness I can do without. If I want that I can stay in Europe...

A great Hotel

Advantages: Next to ciudad de las artes

.... Why this hotel? As I mentioned, had long been thinking of a hypothetical trip to Valencia and it was always an option. And even without looking in depth, you missed an eye to a travel page to see things as price, location etc and I sounded a name. Thanks to last year because I was working in Valencia and I stayed at the Rey Don Jaime, knew more or less in the city to seek shelter. If I had stayed in the Rey Don Jaime, why not this? Mainly because that the company paid for hotel jejeje. And now I am very happy'' 'The Tryp Oceanic is much better and cheaper. A great hotel if you're on a budget!

Advantages: Food, Pools, Beach 2 minutes away.

...Me & my girlfriend went to Cuba in Jan/Feb 2008 staying in the Hotel Tryp, Cayo Coco. Before going we had read reviews, some very good, some not so good, however I like to make my own opinions. Now after flying 8 hours plus to Cuba we landed in Cayo Coco and were quickly through customs and on the coach to the hotel. The rep joked that it would be another 3 hours, but truthfully it only took about 10 minutes. Cayo Coco we were told is part of a group of islands just north of main land Cuba and that they were mostly dominated by hotels! And from what we saw, it was very true. Anyway, we arrived at the hotel in double quick time and were checked in within about 5 minutes. The reception staff were all very friendly throughout the holiday and always willing to help.
