The TT1650 is the industry standard entry level turntable. There is something quite alluring about this deck, it has everything you could ask for from a beginners point of view, it stylish, cheap, and has features no other entry level deck has.
Numark is a well respected manufacturer of quality dj equipment. They are probably most well known for their ability to create high quality turntable's for people on a budget, this is the category where the TT1650 falls into.
This turntable features something which almost no other manufacturer supplies with an entry level turntable, a direct drive motor. This is what all the professional...

Beginner's best choice
Review of Numark TT1650 Turntable by
aeroclub
Advantages: Value for money
Disadvantages: Bad motor
...These were my first turntables I bought for myself, but I made this decision after having studied the competition quite a lot. I've played on lots of other decks of approximately same level and none could compare with Numark TT1650. The mixer I used was Numark 1050, which is of the same price level and a perfect match for the these decks.
At first they catch your eye with their style. It is pretty futuristic with all of it's elements being very smooth. Another good thing is the configuration of controls, which is very comfortable. Visually, this turntable looks prety well, especially with the mixer I mentioned above.
Technically, the same motor as in "senior brother" TT1625 is used here. It is a direct drive, which is pretty a rare thing among the turntables of the same price level. Torque is quite okay (1.0 kgf...

Great decks, has served its purpose well!
Review of Numark TT1650 Turntable by
djspellbound
Advantages: Direct drive, cheap, fun, good for all levels of ability.
Disadvantages: New slipmats a must, New needles a must, deteriorate after extensive use.
...I have owned a pair of these decks for around a year and 6 months, I owned a pair of numark 1520s before my 1650s and was very satisfied with them.
Many people find the 1650s difficult to keep pitch in long mixes, although i have never had a problem until now.
My mixes generally last anywhere between 1 and 3 mins. The only reason I am having problems now is because the decks are getting old as i bought them second hand.
One of the turntables' motor has gone, it no longer keeps pitch and it also starts up really slowly from time to time. This is easily fixed when I turn off the deck and switch it back on again.
To summarise: Great deck for intermediate and beginers alike but they look tacky and new decks are needed after around 2 years as they deteriorate and become limiting....

If you DJ then you need these!
Review of Numark TTX USB Turntable by
03bintls
Advantages: Build quality, features, massive torque, looks
Disadvantages: Erm, dim target light
...I upgraded to these decks from a pair of Numark TT1650s....and wow what a decision!!
The first thing that hits you about these decks is their weight - they are heavy beasts. This certainally makes them feels the part. It might make moving them around a little more difficult, but its a small price to pay. The weight helps to keep them really stable a gives your vinyl a secure base to play on. The weight is mainly due to two reasons, firstly the steel casing which makes the unit really sturdy.
Secondly the motor. These decks have the highest torque I've come across. The higher the torque (for those of you that don't know) the higher the force needed to stop the platter (the circular base you put the vinyl on) from turning. This is important when mixing since you are always touching the record, and don't want the base below to stop...
