Tulip Inn Amsterdam West - Cheep & Cheerful
Review of Tulip Inn City West, Amsterdam by
Paula_23_uk
Advantages: Cheap, Cheerful and Clean
Disadvantages: Bit far out from centre and good 15 mins walk to tram stop down dark canal path
...If you want a cheep but cheerful hotel for a great weekend in a fabulous place then Tulip Inn Amsterdam West is for you.
The Tulip Inn Amsterdam West is a 3 star hotel situated in the western area of Amsterdam (3 stars indicates that the hotel has a quality rating). There are 162 rooms, which are reasonably priced and during my stay there, the room was clean and had maid service every day.
I stayed at the Tulip Inn Amsterdam West in December 2005 with 3 friends and we booked 2 twin rooms. The trip was extremely good value and was booked through Expedia at a price of £116 each including flights and 2 nights (3 days) stay at the hotel.
The hotel states that it's facilities include; airport transportation (at extra cost), breakfast room (at extra cost), Wireless Internet access, Free Parking, Conference Rooms, a Restaurant...

A rose amongst thorns
Review of Tulip Inn Marne La Valle (Paris) by
Paddys_back
Advantages: Competitive pricing. Well situated & easy to get to from the airports. Spacious rooms. Rooms cleaned daily. Fresh towels daily. Excellent buffet breakfast included in the price. Plenty of parking. Very polite & helpful staff. Handy leisure facilit
Disadvantages: Bar prices, but that’s normal for any hotel.
...Want a good hotel that’s close to Paris & also close to Disneyland Paris, then you couldn’t go far wrong by checking out The Tulip Inn – Marne La Vallee, which is part of the 400 hotels that make up the Golden Tulip group.
One of the really handy things about The Tulip Inn is that it has an up to date website that’s in both French & English. The site is crammed full of information about the hotel, has photos of rooms, sports facilities, business facilities, the surrounding area & loads more. They’ve left nothing to chance with their website, which is great! Booking a room or apartment is easy enough & can be done via your travel agent, by telephone or via their online booking form. You can e-mail the hotel & the reception staff will quite happily respond to your enquiries. I e-mailed the hotel to find out a rough idea...

Now a Premier - hope the standards haven't dropped
Review of Tulip Inn Newcastle, Gateshead by
eandemam
Advantages: Nice rooms, good facilities
Disadvantages: Bed uncomfortable
...####PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS HOTEL IS NOW A PREMIER TRAVEL INN AT THE TIME OF ME STAYING THEY WERE STILL PART OF THE TULIP INN CHAIN###
I won a night at this hotel in a charity auction at work. It is about 1 mile from work and about 4 miles from home, but a night away from the children with just my hubby is not something I would ever turn my nose up at.
LOCATION
The hotel is located just off the A1 in Gateshead and is easy to access. It is at the edge of a trading estate, 5 minutes drive from Newcastle City Centre, and 3 junctions on the A1 from The Metrocentre. It is an ideal location for anyone wanting to take a break in this area which combines shopping, sightseeing and nightlife. There is a large free car park outside the hotel.
CHECK IN
The reception area is spacious, airy and welcoming. Check in was simple, I handed over...

Very good hotel, good location, expensive drinks!
Review of Tulip Inn Manchester, Manchester by
boyd2715
Advantages: Location, lovely rooms, very clean, friendly reception.
Disadvantages: Bar prices!
...I stayed at the Tulip Inn (Trafford Centre) early in August as the Arctic Monkeys were playing at Lancashire Cricket Ground.
When we arrived the car park was quite full but had plenty of spaces, even though the hotel very obviously very busy.
There was no conceirage at the hotel waiting to take your bags or even give you a hand on the way in, as there is at many hotels, but we didnt really expect this.
When we arrived at reception the hotel was very busy and so was the bar, which is right at the front of the hotel next to reception. The positioning of the bar seems to cause problems at the hotel when busy.
Anyway the receptionist was great and the check in was very fast!
When we arrived in the room we were pleasantly surprised, the room is quite big and the bed was huge and very comfy! All the usual extras were there...

Totally Tulip
Review of Tulips by
piggypine
Advantages: Beautiful flowers, easy to grow
Disadvantages: Can develop disease
...There are a great many wonderful plants and flowers on our earth and my favorite of them all is the Tulip, it may not be the most exotic or exciting of plants but I think it is one of true, simple beauty, one that is a dream to grow and a marvel to display. I've loved Tulips since I was a girl and my mother grew them in our garden, at first they seemed so plain, single flowers, bright in colour but unfussy but as the years passed and different varieties were introduced to our garden I realized how diverse and wonderful they really were, my love for the flowers finally reached it's peak when I selected white Tulips for my wedding bouquet and was presented with the most stunning arrangement of flowers I had ever seen. My love for the flowers has remained constant and it is with great excitement that I await each spring and the display I...

The Golden Tulip
Review of Golden Tulip Hotel, Accra by
vinodgm
Advantages: Comfortable, Conveniently located, All necessary facilities
Disadvantages: Some may find it a bit expensive
...Many of you who might have read some of my previous opinions will be aware that I travel to West Africa quite frequently and one of the destinations that I visit most is Accra in Ghana.
When travelling to Africa in general one of the most important decisions you must make is the hotel that you intend to stay in.
You need a place that provides you with comfortable rooms, clean food and water, entertainment and security.
My hotel of choice is the Golden Tulip Accra Hotel.
This hotel is part of the Golden Tulip chain of hotels. Golden Tulip hotels enjoy a high reputation throughout the world. More on the Golden Tulip chain later in this opinion.
The Golden Tulip Accra Hotel is located just 2 km from Accra’s Kotoka International Airport and is commonly referred to as the “airport hotel”.
Most major...

Tulip Garden restaurant
Review of Tulip Garden, Alanya by
jeaniecz
Advantages: Great food, very friendly staff, great service!
Disadvantages: Absolutely none
...Tulip Garden
Located on the Atatürk blvd. in Alanya, south Turkey, Tulip Garden is a neat café restaurant serving meals from 9:00 till 2:00. Now probably you wonder what's a Tulip Garden doing in Turkey, well, that's because the owner is a Dutch Turk, very nice guy who speaks fluent Dutch and English and who's come to Alanya some 7 years ago to start up his own business.
Being smart, he focused on the Dutch tourists and their needs, which are:
1. Dutch food: frikandel, krokant (both kind of minced meat which is rather spicy, dressed and fried), basmati rice, bami, nasi (ok, all these are indian dishes the Dutch eat often, but don't ask me what those are, I had it explained a number of times but always forgot), filled toasts and of course beers.
2. TV screen: The Dutch ppl love to watch sports, particularly football, so...

Tulips From Amsterdam
Review of Tulips by
chattell
Advantages: Satisfaction and Colour
Disadvantages: Not To Everyone's Liking
...Sorry to say it's that time of year when we will soon be buying and planting our bulbs for our spring show in the garden, or pots if you prefer.
Tulips are one of the few bulbs that we associate with spring, even though we may not want to think about that already, soon we will be clearing our gardens to make way for the annual bulb planting.
I tend to plant a lot in tubs, so that I can place them near the house and forever see some sort of colour when I look out the window in the dreary first months of the year.
Facts
Although Tulips are associated with Holland they were in fact originally classed as a wild flower grown in Asia and Turkey.
They came to Europe from the gardens of the Turkish sultans, the name is derived from the word "turban" because that is what people thought the tulip flowers resembled.
In the 16th...

The gilt has long faded on the Golden Tulip
Review of Golden Tulip Amsterdam Zaandam, Zaandam by
koshkha
Advantages: At least I wasn't spending my own money
Disadvantages: Plenty - just book a proper hotel somewhere more sensible
...The Dutch are famous for many things - cheese, clogs, a relaxed attitude to controlled substances and prostitution, little boys saving towns by sticking their fingers in dykes and of course the bulbfields. What they aren't famous for - and no wonder - is great hotels and hospitality. Of all the countries I travel to, Holland is one place where I can almost guarantee to be disappointed by a hotel - and the Golden Tulip in Zaandam really did live down to all my expectations.
Why was I there?
Oh I keep asking myself that. What fate sent me to such a god-forsaken down-market crappy Dutch hotel? On the plus side, it's only for one night but on the down side, surely somebody could have found something better than this. I work for a company that's in the midst of divorcing its separate parts in a messy but fairly civilised way. Some...
