Seiko SAT100 Guitar and Bass Tuner
Review of Seiko SAT100 Guitar and Bass Tuner by
shadysladyangela
Advantages: Economical, Easy to use, Great for beginners, Comes with batteries! Input and output sockets.
Disadvantages: Won't tune cheap acoustics properly.
...I bought this item for £15 from a specialist guitar shop and I have to say it was well worth every penny! I have an electric guitar, one of which was terribly out of tune. It corrected the tuning perfectly and now my guitar doesn't sound in pain every time I play it.
This tuner can be used on acoustic guitars, as well as electric ones, also for bass guitars, but I do not own a bass so I don't know how it performs in that area. Electric guitars can be plugged into the side of the tuner for more precise tuning. It does have a built-in microphone, so connecting it to your guitar isn't completely necessary. Due to the microphone, this allows acoustic guitars to be tuned as well.
It has a very simple interface, and as a beginner to the world of guitars, I found it extremely easy to operate. It has a digital display (two AAA batteries...

KORG GA-30 Guitar/Bass - Tuner, good buy.
Review of Korg GA-30 Guitar/Bass tuner by
Hawiz
Advantages: Very easy to use, very accurate.
Disadvantages: Quite small, loud noises can interfere with tuning with built in mic.
...This is a must for any musician on the move, or simply someone who needs to tune guitars often. The whole thing is incredibly easy to use, with three clear lights that light up according to the note.
To use it, you can either use the built in microphone, and it will pick up the sounds very easily, but can be troublesome if there is too much background noise, things like a tv, even other guitars playing in the background can be fine, but there are times when it becomes difficult. The other way is to simply use your musical cable (same type you use for an amplifier) and plug it into the jack socket in the side of the tuner. It will then pick up anything you play.
The small dial alternates between the right and left sides, making it very clear how far you are from hitting the right note. The red lights will turn off and the middle...

The Industry Standard Tuner
Review of Boss TU2 Chromatic Tuner and Power Supply Pedal by
nweststeyn
Advantages: Reliable, Sturdy, Easy to Use, Effective
Disadvantages: None.
...Every gigging musician needs to own one of these.
I work as a sound engineer in various venues, and I can immediately guage the quality of a band on whether or not they have TU2's (or similair pedal tuners).
The Boss TU2 provides a quick, reliable tuning solution for guitarists and bassists everywhere, at a very affordable price. There is nothing more annoying than out of tune guitars, musicians tuning by ear mid-set, or people sharing guitar tuners (causing long tuning breaks). Simply step on this pedal, tune up silently, step on it again and you're ready to play. Battery life is long, and despite not being true bypass, the pedal is more than suitable for live playing.
The display is long enough to provide accurate tuning, and is very easy to see/read on dark stages due to the lit up red/green/red lights indicating flat...

An essential for the gig
Review of Korg GA-30 Guitar/Bass tuner by
harmonic_overtones
Advantages: Small, light, easy to use
Disadvantages: None really
...I bought this tuner a few months ago and it has served me well ever since. I expected it to be good, as it is under the name of Korg which is synonomus with high-quality audio equiptment. This is a very handy tool for any guitarist or bass player and i recommend that you choose this, it is one of the best tuners out there.

Appearance
~~~~~~~~~~
This is a compact unit with a lovely silver-coloured case. The dial looks good as well, as it incorporates a digital moving tuning arm. The writing on the product clearly displays the input and the other different aspects of the tuner.
Ease of use
~~~~~~~~~~
'Completely intuitive' would be the phrase I would choose to sum it up. The first thing I did when I got it out of the packet was plug my guitar in and play a note. The dail came up red so I...

Best tuner bar none
Review of Boss TU2 Chromatic Tuner and Power Supply Pedal by
zakkman
Advantages: ease of use,accuracy,build quality
Disadvantages: battery life
...I have owned one of these beauties for a long time now. I think i paid around £60 for it new. It has been used and abused on numerous gigs up and down the country. Been chucked in gig bags,had beer spilled on it and it is still going strong. Theses pedals are first of all built like tanks as are all boss single pedals. Functions are brilliant. Guitar and bass guitar tuning are taken care of. Ease of use is fool proof. Plug your guitar in. Play a note and depending on what settting you have it on it will either tell you what note you are playing or what open string number. It then has a crescent of lights that tells you how close you are to either the string or the noteAnother bonus is that when you turn this pedal on it mutes the sound so no more noisy tuning up while on stage or in the bedroom.The pedal is very accurate and actually...

Don't leave home without it!
Review of Korg GA-30 Guitar/Bass tuner by
jolmartyn
Advantages: Small, light, inexpensive, accurate
Disadvantages: Can't be used in play through mode
...This review is actually on the Korg CA-30. It seems in almost every respect the same as the GA-30.
I would however like to highlight some of my experiences with this tool.
Nearly all my experiences have been favourable. The machine is a chromatic tuner. This means that it can and has been used on a variety of instruments, mostly string ones from mandolins to Super low basses and bassoons. I have made one or two guitars in my carreer too. The tuner can be calibrated from between 410 - 480 Hz for C. This is highly accurate I've checked it on my frequency meter.
When the tuner is calibrated, it can then be used to tune the other strings on the instrument. There are three ways to do this. One is to use the audio pickup on the tuner -perfectly ok in the living room - gets a bit tricky if there are noises around - but becomes...

Qwik Tune, Excellent Value, Great Quality
Review of Qwik Tune QT1 Guitar and Bass Tuner by
xolof
Advantages: Featurefull, Great Value
Disadvantages: Bad battery life
...I have used this tuner for guitar and bass for many years, as a bass player I find this to get the job done quickly and easily, It is not so efficient for guitar but is still a very good tuner for the price.
A positive point about this tuner is that it has 1/4" input and output sockets allowing it to be used between the guitar and amp which, for a tuner of this price range, is quite a useful feature.
My only issue with this tuner is that it uses a 9v battery which can be run down quickly if the tuner is accidentally left on. This is an easy mistake to make as the three main buttons on the tuner are raised and can be accidentally pressed, there is no power indicator to show the tuner is switched on
To conclude, this tuner is very good value for money and has excellent features including a microphone for tuning acoustic guitars....

Does what you need it to
Review of Seiko SAT100 Guitar and Bass Tuner by
Rich444
Advantages: Does the job, lots of features, looks nice, cheap
Disadvantages: Microphone mode is useless
...I bought this tuner as I was a beginner to bass guitar, and knew that there was no way Id be able to tune the guitar by ear. It cost me about £12 from an online store, but you may be able to find it cheaper. I chose this tuner over others becasue it was a name I had heard of and trusted.
Build:
The tuner looks quite fancy and is slim enough to fit in your pocket. Sure, ther | | |
