...A step backward from the Tungsten T, my previous palm. The T/X has not moved forward, design-wise. And cut some useful features. No charge-indicator LED. Screen less responsive. It seems like its forever resetting itself, losing a number of settings along the way. Bottom of screen permanent virtual buttons are not user-configurable! BAD! This is not a happy camper! And this: now extra $ for cradle, which is badly designed, with insufficient place for wires in the back and a useles, wasteful full-time glow. T/X has no "back" button, like on Sony palms, that was a brilliant function for navigation. Tungsten spring-loaded stylus was lightning fast to deploy, even in hardshell case. Latter case also allowed headphones. Now T/X has done away with both possibilities. Awkward to use. And apparently a slower processor than in its immediate... Read review

Advantages: small, fast, sexy, best palm ever

...I never thought I would make the case for a palm handheld from 3com. I used to be a dedicated Ipaq fan but got increasingly disappointed with it. So I decided to take a bold step and try out the new Palm Tungsten. In one word: AMAZING! I will compare, wherever possible the Tungsten with the Ipaq. Note that I am comparing the new Tungsten with my previously owned Ipaq 3850. For exact specifications of both PDA's I refer you to the www.palm.com and www.compaq.com Look and feel I always found the Ipaq sexy, but it is still a bit bulky. The Palm is not much lighter (6.2 oz vs 5.6 oz for the palm), but much smaller (length 4'' vs 5'' for the Ipaq). This is due to the fact that the bottom slides open to reveal the grafiti writing area. The garfite colored aluminium casing feels much more sturdy than the aluminium looking, though plastic... ...I purchased the tungsten T2 this christmas for my self online and have found it a valuable companione for these reasons: Vale for money When i origonaly puchases the T2 it cost me £200 reduced from £250 witch I belive is good value for money in comparison to what else you could get at the time. It is know availbe for £170 witch is fantastic value. Memory This model come with 32Mb of RAM witch is not as good as some modeals out their offer 64Mb and after your operating systeam is loaded you effectivly have 30Mb. It not the best but i found it sufficent unless you want to upload media like Mp3's or Video then buy and exspansion card. Advantages: Slim, large screen, portable, sexy, like a super model turned into a PDA

...hours, that's very dissapointing since the Palm is not that fast. I am glad it's not a pacemaker. So flaws aside what can this piece of technology do? Well you can view your pictures with it, you can edit your Office Word/Excel/Powerpoint files on it, listen to MP3s, watch videos, take quick notes, organise your day, surf the internet (when it has internet access) and read ebooks with it. All this straight out of the box without purchasing extra software. There are also games on the device and emulators that let you play console games i.e. Gameboy Advance, so that's very tempting (you must own game to be legally allowed to play it on the Palm) but they will need downloading or purchasing. ...super,a dream laptop if i ever had one.the SONY VAIO TX2HP/W is the most stylish and fully featured latop ever.i paid £1699.99 for mine 12 months ago and would pay it all again,its super slim and light allso the battery last between 7 - 8 hrs,which is just what i need none of that stuck to leads i am truely wireless all day,not like all these other laptops were your wirless for 30 mins if your lucky before the battrey is dead..thats not us tx user's its weight or lack of is so good for me as i hold it in one hand for hrs typing and then just kick back on the sofa with the tx on my chest as i surf..try that with any other laptop in the world...i dont think so not unless your a muscle bound sted head...and even then it would be hard to put up with the weight of a normal laptop.also the tx is made of carbon fibre the same stuff used... ...5 Reasons I think the Palm T/X is a great find. I began my PDA journey with the Handspring Visor , outgrew it and moved on to Handspring Visor Deluxe; bought most of the springboard modules, fax/modem, camera, memory, keyboard, etc and finally sold it and turned to the (all in one) Sony Clie NR70V (which I subsequently over worked and burned out). Thus began my 2 year search for a better PDA. I don't know why it took me so long to come back to the originator of the PDA, but I choose the Palm T/X, for five reasons. #1. It's a Palm! One of the ONLY businesses that's still in the business of making and supporting PDA's. I have nothing against the Blackberry, Treo, I-Phone or others, but it's comforting to know that the product I bought is backed by the same business that started it. ...apart, and I really wasnt impressed with the sound quality I was getting through the mp3 player. I asked for refund, and then went back to my first instincts and bought the muvo tx 256 mb. Immedialty I was impressed with the build quality. It came with a belt clip headphones ( that I would reccomend you get a new decent pair, as they are realitvely poor, but that is not a major problem) and a change of cover, aswell as the software to install. Installation on that subject was very easy and simple, as it is usb, you can start using it straight away in XP without installing the drivers, it just works as a removeable drive. The player itself is very stylish, and tiny, it has a lcd screen that tells you which song is playing which is very hand. This screen is lit, so you can even see it in the dark ! ...The Palm TX has been around for a while now and so you may find it a little odd that I'm writing a review of it. More odd is the fact that the TX is still sold new, years after it first came out. The reason? As a PDA, it has yet to be surpassed. Not only is it extremely easy to use and connects to open wifi hotspots with ease, it also has a massive collection of free software available online - from games to productivity, from connectivity to health and wellbeing. It comes bundled with an excellent browser (Blazer) but you can also run Opera and some other browsers on it too. The email software is also more than adequate. It is also a top multimedia player and when used in conjunction with the right software, can happily display streaming tv and, if you connect it up to a stereo, makes a handy internet radio.
