Advantages: very fast

...This is my favourite design so far by the acer travelmate brand. It looks a bit cooler and thinner than the other travelmates, which have previously looked a little bulky and boring. I think the main reason why it looks cooler is that its 2 different colours, black and silver, rather than being just black like the other ones. This features AMD Turion 64 X2 mobile technology TL-56 processor which runs the 2gb installed ram like a dream. Another great thing about this laptop is that the ram can be upgraded to 4gb, this isn't cheap however and could cost over £100 to upgrade it to 4gb of ram, however this would make the laptop run so much faster so if you do need a really fast laptop then this is possibly something you might think about when buying it. ...This is a excellent computer for either home or small office. The downside to it is that it has no firewire installed, and no S-Video port, also intergrated graphics , which uses some of your memory , therefor reducing speed a little. Having said that the AMD 64x2 dual processor make multi - tasking easy. It has Vista Home installed , this makes finding and using programmes much easier.It has a good quality DVD writer for dual format discs. It is lightweight for mobile use and very robust. For a good value laptop this is about the best for its price. It also has some software added such as Roxio for copying cd's and dvd's, it also has a 60GB hard drive for storage. ...up from looking dull and boring to looking like a stylish machine anyone would want to own. The screen is clearly sturdy and doesn’t wobble if you shake the laptop about, its also easy to open and close and doesn’t make horrible creaking sounds like some screens on other laptops do. This laptop does run very fast, this is due to its combination of its very high spec 2 gb of ram and its AMD Turion 64 X2 mobile technology processor. This runs at speeds of 1.8 Ghz which is very fast, especially when running 2 gb of ram as well so they’ll be no problem in running those demanding programs, games or anything else really. The hard drive is also of high spec too, its got a built in 160 GB - Serial ATA-150 hard drive which can process data at speeds of 5400 rpm, which is very quick, these high speeds make all the difference... ...Dell inspiron 1501 - turion 64 x2 - 15.4 TFT This is oldest of the three Dell's i have in my house, but they are still avaliabale for sale on line. a great buy at a cheap price, overall the Dell is very good With a large 15.4 screen the picture is very good, with a large ghapics card installed game and video are excellent. connectivity is very good, on Wifi and easy to connect, good sound can get a bit distorted at higher levels of sound. Well presented keyboard, mouse pad is easy to use, bnattery life can be a bit short on the standard battery, but a longer life battery is avaliable from most good stockist If your looking for a good laptop for cheap try this one, i got mine on Ebay new with a one year warranty for £200... ...again like all the travelmates this laptop is specifically designed for those working people. it just makes working on your laptop that little bit easier. most acers however don't look very stylish, however there is an element to this that acer have actually tried to make this one look nice for a change. there are better looking laptops out there but I think this travelmate actually looks pretty good. however it does still look a bit bulky compared to the newer laptops out there. This features a turion 64x2 processor which runs the 1gb installed ram like a dream. Advantages: Widescreen - built in wifi connectivity - Ease of use

...I have used the Acer Travelmate 7510 version, for about a year now. Prefering the wider 17" screen, which this Acer has. The unit is powered by the AMD Turion 64 processor, another personal preference towards Athlon rather than Intel. 2 gig of RAM and an 80 gig hard drive, is more than sufficient for the personal home or office user. Wireless internet connection has been very stable and runs at 8mbps on average, which is great for music or film downloads. Windows Vista home premium is pre-installed and you do not receive a back up or restore cdr. The operating system is partitioned on the hard drive, so, in theory, you can always restore it to original factory settings - having tried this, due to a virus, I found I could not carry out this function, despite Acer telling me otherwise. ...drive, I think this is ample hard drive space and I certainly would never run out. The HP Pavilion dv6331 runs on a AMD Turion64 processor that is a dual core processor. It of course has wireless technology for connecting to the internet on the move. It has 2GB of Ram, this a good size. The computer also has DVD±RW disc re-writer, always useful to have. The laptop takes about an hour and a half to charge and it has a battery life, depending on which power plan you use, of two and a half hours. It has three power plans for the laptop, one is a high performance but low battery life plan, another is low performance but with a greater battery life and the third is the HP recommended power plan, which is a bit of a go between. ...I bought this system back in August from ASDA electricals (on behalf of Elonex) for £464.95 (+ £12 delivery charge) with standard 1 yr warranty. The system arrived 3 days later. Around that time only and at that price I got AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ Dual Core Processor, integrated 256mb PCI Express Graphics card and 7.1 Surround Sound, 2GB DDR2 667Mhz RAM, 320GB Maxtor DiamondMax 21 SATA-II Hard Disk, 18x Samsung DVD-Rewriter Multiformat inc. dual layer, 20" LCD monitor with speakers, Multi-Card Reader, Microsoft Keyboard & Optical Mouse. The Operating system (OS) is XP Home (XP Pro would be nice, XP Pro 64-bit even better). All software and drivers are pre-installed. The system is ready to run and doing well until one day I wanted to install some foreign fonts for my web browsers. It asked for the system CD-ROM and it is missing... Read review
