AMD turion tl-58:- a great prcessor all round
Review of AMD Turion 64 X2 mobile technology TL-58 processor ( mobile ) by
DC-DanielColeflax
Advantages: speed, perormance, no dodgy intel media graphics
Disadvantages: none really
...The processor operates at 1.9 Ghz which is not the fastest processor in the world, the fastest in the family of processors is the Turion TL-66 at 2.3Ghz. This speed is definately not bad though, with many intel laptop processors coming in at around 1.6 Ghz to 2Ghz. The speed is definately more than fast enough for the standard home user and probably fine for business use or even professional use. Although it is not the fastest it is still reasonable, and it has to be said that being a laptop processor it can not be expected to reach the same speeds as desktop processors which I have known to reach 3.2Ghz.
For anyone out there who is not technologically minded like me, and who does not understand Ghz, Mhz etc, it is quite fast, that is the simple version.
PERFORMANCE
The performance of the processor is great and it really is good at being...

great laptop to replace desktop
Review of Acer TravelMate 7520-402G16Mi - Turion 64 X2 TL-58 1.9 GHz - 17" TFT by
punker123
Advantages: fast big screen
Disadvantages: portability
...this great laptop is the business, its fast, robust yet portable and has a lot of storage space.
unlike most the other travel mates, this one has a 17 inch screen, and most the others only have 15.2 inch screens so already this puts it up a notch against some of the previous editions.
also the active matrix technology on the TFT screen makes the pictures sharper and brighter giving you the best possible image quality.
this laptop features AMD Turion 64 X2 mobile technology processor which makes the 1gb installed ram run very fast.
also the ram can easily be upgraded to a maximum of 4gb for those people who run demanding programs or people who just simply want a faster laptop.
its bigger screen comes at a price however, it makes it a little less portable and weight slightly more than the previous editions. this laptop weighs...

Compaq Business Notebook 6715b
Review of HP Compaq Business Notebook 6715b - Turion 64 X2 TL-58 1.9 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
pieceofmind
Advantages: Price, good specs, (xp?)
Disadvantages: may have problems bettween xp and any vista systems
...Yet anoter fantastic product from HP
Hp is a global company that has been running for over 6 decades, so you know that when you buy a hp, you know what you are getting for your money.
I have owned many HPs and been happy with many hp's and this is no exeption. The price is fantastic and it has very good specifications to match.
The 15" screen is a perfect comprimise bettween view-ability and portability, the procsessor clocks at a quick 1.9 while having the advantage of being dual core. dual core meas it can handle multiple tasks quicker, ultimately speeding up the processing time of your pc. it has an acceptable 1gb of ram which means multiple programs will run fluently.
It also has windows xp proffesional, many people thnk windows proffesional is still the best buisness o.s as it is often more simple than its Vista...

Hp Touchsmart IQ772.uk
Review of HP TouchSmart IQ772.uk - Turion 64 X2 TL-58 1.9 GHz - 19" TFT by
Deagon
Advantages: Very Sleek, Full Of Extras And No Unsightly Wiring Everywhere
Disadvantages: Inefficient Cooling Due To Sleek Case, Possible unreliability Due To High Operating Temperatures
...well, this device if it had a metal case would be very efficient at cooking your breakfast not just its own hard drive. although i must admit that hp were kind enough to replace its hard disk drive twice in less than a month. 5 stars for that HP! but really in my own personal opinion this machine is heavily overpriced considering its performance. although it does look nice its comes with windows vista home premium installed which makes light work of this pc's lack of resources. and not forgetting the temperature issue, i have at this very moment checked the temperates and would like to say that under a very light load, (ie, only running mozilla firefox and zonealarm security suite and windows obviously)
This pc will sit quite comfortably at a CPU temperature of 64*c and a GPU temp 54*c. personally i wouldn't expect to see this high...

Dell Inspiron 1501 turion 64x2 TL50
Review of Dell Inspiron 1501 - Turion 64 X2 TL-50 by
tigerthecat
Advantages: 80gb hdd AMD duo processor 64x2 , 1024 DDR2 RAM
Disadvantages: No firewire, intergrated graphics, No S-Video Port
...This is a excellent computer for either home or small office. The downside to it is that it has no firewire installed, and no S-Video port, also intergrated graphics , which uses some of your memory , therefor reducing speed a little. Having said that the AMD 64x2 dual processor make multi - tasking easy. It has Vista Home installed , this makes finding and using programmes much easier. It has a good quality DVD writer for dual format discs. It is lightweight for mobile use and very robust. For a good value laptop this is about the best for its price. It also has some software added such as Roxio for copying cd's and dvd's, it also has a 60GB hard drive for storage. All the components such as graphics card and firewire ect can be added for additional price, as all Dell laptops can be built to specification of buyer. As standard...

AMD 64 4200+ X2 AM2 (2.2GHz) processor!
Review of AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ / 2.2 GHz processor by
dwarven87
Advantages: Dual Core, Low power usage* and Fast!
Disadvantages: Motherboards can be costly for this!
...but pentiums can be twice the price for the same spec AMD!
In comparison to my old computer (old old p4 1.9Ghz with 1gb ram) this processor helps to wipe the floor with my old computer. The dual core feature means that in comparison i can listen to music, run an anti-virus scan, spyware and adware scan and play Hitman: Blood Money at the same time with very little noticeable shuddering or lag! Excellent. If my old computer attempted this bouts of freezing and poor gameplay would occur!
The startup speeds of the computer are very noticeable as it takes around 40secs to boot in total (after everything has loaded up) whereas my old computer would literally take atleast 4 minutes to boot everything up - no joke!
In comparison it is not the best for Gaming as some single core pentiums are but this is still damn good. Coupling this board with 1...

dc6552ea pavilion laptop
Review of HP Pavilion Media Center dv6552ea Entertainment - Turion 64 X2 TL-58 - 15.4" TFT by
jonnowitts
Advantages: the look, 2gb ram, dual core, media designs, dvd rw, lightscribe
Disadvantages: vista, no backwards support to XP, graphics chip, no boot disc but rather partitioned harddrive
...Ok so where do I start...The good. This laptop looks incredibly nice, it is one of the best looking laptops around I would say, the specs look really good for what you pay for it, 2gb RAM, 150gb hard drive, nVidia graphics (up to 559mb apprently), the display is amazing all in all a really nice looking laptop. The HP remote is really useful, i'm not entirely sure on the range of it but it works on IR usage so, so long as your are kinda close and pointing it at the right area it should do what you want it to. The remote also slides into the laptop next to the DVD drive so you won't lose it. The 5 in 1 card reader is also really useful, I use a variety of memory cards and they all work (i did have to get an adapter for my Memory stick duo however). The HP 'QuickPlay' software is much like Windows Media Center, but it works better...

Best budget machine by Toshiba
Review of Toshiba Satellite Pro A210-1B1 - Turion 64 X2 TL-58 1.9 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
ZiaFarhan
Advantages: Cash back, looks, Broad, bright display; comfortable keyboard
Disadvantages: Unimpressive battery life
...I have never seen or used a Toshiba AMD based laptop that was better than this particular piece of kit
This is definately a budget machine which is a perfect desktop replacement with a sleek design and attractive display that would appeal.
Pros: Broad, bright display; comfortable keyboard, new measures that Toshiba has taken to insure quality and the look
Cons: Unimpressive battery life; glossy screen finish produces reflections;
Verdict: The inexpensive Toshiba Satellite Pro A210-1B1 laptop offers enough features and performance oomph for basic business tasks, but its AMD processor may disappoint hard-core multitaskers. Does not over warm up so thats good news for travellers like myself. Is very good value for money, looking at prices of different stores like Technoworld (by now you should all know it is my...

Awesome Notebook
Review of Toshiba Satellite Pro A210-1B1 - Turion 64 X2 TL-58 1.9 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
123ejv
Advantages: Price, Performance, Style, Fast, Updated, Many Features, Sleek, Light, Great speakers, Great disk storage
Disadvantages: Battery Life, Not the best for gaming, Vista slows processing speed
...This notebook has some very nice features considering its budget price. It comes standard with 2Gb of DDR2 SDRAM which I thought was nice. Windows Vista requires a minimum of 1Gb to operate normally. Seeing how this notebook has 2gigs, there is plenty of extra memory to run multiple programs at once. If you shop around a little bit you might notice that other laptops in the same price range as this one usually come standard with 1Gb. The hard drive is 160Gb large so some my feel its on the small side. I use this laptop mainly for school and office work so I doubt I would ever completely use up all that hard drive space. If I did I would go the route of an external hard drive anyways. The display is very bright and clear, and the laptop is very stylish with its dark blue cover and bold Toshiba logo. I would seriously suggest this laptop...
