...The Sony male VMC 15HD Video / Audio cable is very cheap for the thing it does which is transfer images. This cable is the future of HD TV I paid £25.00 for this cable. The UK Sony website sells it at £29.00 but there are plenty of other suppliers out there. This is a great piece of kit for transferring pictures from HD DVD players to HD TVs and still leaves the pictures with a very high picture quality you on the screen with its high rate data transfer "which means it loses very little detail." Sony states Gold-plated terminals for much improved signal transmission. ...The Nintendo Wii component video cable really is a sound investment if you are the owner of an HD/ LCD TV, and obviously a nintendo Wii. Before i bought it, i had trouble with the picture quality and contrast on many of the games. Games such as Wii Sports were fine, but more of the action/adventure games such as Zelda or Splinter Cell give a very dark picture which can sometimes be hard to make out what was happening. The only way i could combat this problem was to adjust the contrast on my television which did help, but was alot of hassle. With the component cable, the picture is not only much brighter, but much sharper and defined. It gets rid of the hassle of having to turn the contrast back down after playing on the Wii and improves the overall gaming experiance. Another bonus is that on your HD TV, this cable plugs... ...Videos are dead cheap nowadays, aren't they? Virgin Megastores are flogging off the Shawshank Redemption and Titanic for £3 each! I guess we're firmly in the DVD age now and in a few years my videos will be gathering dust as fast as a Dyson in a very dusty place. All of which brings me on to Victoria Wood As Seen On TV - the video. If you ever caught the programme when it was first shown in the 80s, or on any of the two billion (approximately) times it has been repeated, then you already know what it is like. The video claims to be "the very best of", but to me it seems more like two 45 minute episodes cobbled together. The video contains a mix of comedy sketches starring Victoria Wood, Celia Imrie, Duncan Preston, Patricia Routledge, Susie Blake and the fantastic Julie Walters. Advantages: Great picture, supports upto 1080p, supports surround sound.
Disadvantages: May not be the best cable for your TV

.... I find the best display mode to use is 720p as the image is more fluid and things appear to be smoother when there is alot of fast paced action on the screen. If however you are playing a slower paced game such as Tiger Woods, I find its best to switch to 1080i as the image is more detailed. I haven't been able to test the 1080p mode as my TV doesn't support it but I imagine it works fine giving you the detail of 1080i with the fluidity of 720p. Over composite the picture isn't so good, it loses all its fidelity but if your purchasing this cable you probably are planning to use it on an HD set. Price: This cable should set you back around £20 and sells at all good video game stores such as Game and Gamestation. You may be able to find a better deal at online retailers such as Amazon.co.uk and Play.com. There are cheaper alternatives... Read review

...Coming away from the commercialised world of the U.K. to the heart of France was a shock to my system and we carried on using an old English TV and a very old video machine for many years, and then it broke. The solution could have been to buy a new video machine and fit it to the television which was poor quality from the word go, or to buy a combined TV and Video, and this seemed the most sensible way to go, and with a price tag of £175, it seemed feasible and in fact I was astounded at the quality of the picture that I get with this television as opposed to our older one. I was a little worried that the quality would not be that good. I shy away from new things quite a lot, and I also had niggles in my mind about having a fault on one part of the machine and not being able to use it, and also that it would be expensive... ...This is a must have accessory for any Playstation 3 owner. The best way to send sound and video to your TV to play in high definition is through a HDMI cable. It is the most reliable and easiest way of doing it. A test recently done on the gadget show proved that a cheap HDMI cable will work just as well as an extremely expensive one. They both do the same job and one isn't better than the other. This cable from GAME is one of the cheapest HDMI cables I have seen in the shops and so if a definate buy if you are thinking of getting one. As the Playstation 3 system does not come with a HDMI cable in the box you will probably want to buy one when you pruchase your PS3 and if you are buying it in GAME then you should definitely go for their make of the HDMI cable.
