PANASONIC TH42PX60B 42" HD Ready Digital Plasma TV
Review of PANASONIC TH42PX60B 42" HD Ready Digital Plasma TV by
mystik
Advantages: Picture, sound, reliability
Disadvantages: Heavy
...The PANASONIC TH42PX60B is built like a tank. If you want a TV that's not going to let you down go for a Panasonic. I chose Plasma for it's movie smoothness and acurate shadow detailing. This TV is is fantastic in every way. Even the built in sound is such a high standard, I have a £5500 hi-fi that I run the consoles and PC through but for watching TV the speakers really are up to the task, decent reproduction. It has built in freeview, 2 HDMI sockets, 3 scarts, component and a PC input as well as audio inputs. I have mine on the pedestal stand which is really neat and tidy. The TV is VERY heavy (as plasmas are). It handles 720P and 1080I. As a Media Centre display in my lounge its running 1280 X 720 beautifully, the only thing is that being a plasma the screen temporarily burns in icons etc if you play games for a long period...

PANASONIC TH42PX60B 42" Plasma TV
Review of PANASONIC TH42PX60B 42" HD Ready Digital Plasma TV by
trumo
Advantages: Amazing picture quality, HD Ready, NICAM stereo sound, stylish stand.
Disadvantages: No back to the stand which makes it hard to conceal inflexible scart leads.
...I bought this TV at a special online price of £2074 (Curry's website) and it was money well spent! The first time I turned it on I was struck by the excellent picture quality, it really is superb. I looked at a lot of plasmas before I bought this one and it definitely has one of the sharpest pictures and the best colours of anything in its price bracket.
The stand doesn't come with the TV for that price and will cost you an extra £100, Alternatively, you can mount it on the wall. If you use the stand and you have DVD players, Sky boxes, game consoles etc. then you might find it difficult to conceal the thick scart leads from view, these tend not to be very flexible and I can't bend mine to fit in the channels on the back of the stand. (the TV comes with 3 scart sockets)
The sound compliments the quality of the picture, NICAM...

Call 0870 60 60 747, thats 0870 60 60 747
Review of TV Travelshop by
GillyPooh78
Advantages: Book 24 hrs a day from the comfort of your own home
Disadvantages: Usually involves a long telephone call
...phonecalls from me being away from home and seeing each other only at the weekends - I missed him!
One afternoon, I was bored - layed on the settee, surfing the channels with the remote control when I came across TV TRAVEL SHOP.
They were advertising a fabulous saving of £1000 per couple with half price travel insurance for a 2 weeks All Inclusive holiday in the Dominican Republic. I telephoned the number 0870 60 60 747 - a phone number I will always remember! Spoke to a very helpful member from customer services, told her the dates I wanted to travel and the accomodation that I'd seen. She told me that she would check this information out for me and phone me back straight away with a quote for the full balance.
Half an hour later, the phone rang.............
........put the phone down, it was booked! We were off to the Dominican Republic...

Sony KV28LS60
Review of Sony KV28LS60 by
benjones35
Advantages: Excellant picture quality at an affordable price
Disadvantages: Takes up a lot of space compared to LCD or Plasma
...There are two versions of Sony's KV28LS range a 35 and 60. The only difference as far as I am aware is that the LS60 has a scanning rate of 100HZ, rather than the 50HZ of the 35. I purchased the LS60 approximately 18months which at the time cost just over £600, no doubt it has fallen in price since then. I opted for the LS60 because of the enhanced scanning rate and the difference in price was negligible. This is actually the second LS60 I have owned, when the first arrived two of the scart sockets did not work. However, within a week Comet had delivered a new TV which (touch wood) I have had no problems with. Additional point here, order from Comet's website rather than store for a significant discount, you retain the benefit of being able to go into a store if you have any problems but get a significant discount when ordering...

A 60s hippy chick
Review of 10 Things that remind me of the 60's by
BUBBLES171
Advantages: Was it all so good
Disadvantages: wish I was back there now
...Well the 60s is a time that I would have loved to be in and experience, well ok I was born in 66 and cannot remember that much and my hubby was born in 60 and remembers a bit of it.
So here is my top 10 things that remind me of the 60s.
1) My aunty Celia who was a true hippy, she lived out in the middle of nowhere and bought her own farm and grew her own products. I remember when we would go and visit her we would mock at her lifestyle even though I was in my late teens.
The funny hippy chick look and those skirts and her long brown hair. She had a few small animals and was so dependant on her land making a living from it at the same time. This is where things turn around and if you could change something, this would be one of the first things that I would like to do. I would sit down with her and talk to her all about her...

Panasonic Plasma TH37PX60E
Review of Panasonic TH-37PX60E by
pieman1970
Advantages: Deep blacks, no 'smearing', standard definition upscaling is brilliant
Disadvantages: None for this price
...Forget LCD!! I purchased this Panasonic Plasma TH37PX60E last year ( 2006 ) and have been nothing short of amazed at the performance of the set. Hook up a standard defintion digibox through the RGB scart terminal and the set will upscale the picture with top class results while reducing the smearing (associated with LCD\'s) and pixelization. HDTV or upscaled DVD pictures through the HDMI terminals are out of this world without colours being overbearing or unrealistic.
Those of you with technical knowledge will understand that deep blacks are essential for quality viewing and with a contrast ratio of 10000:1 the TH37PX60E really excels, blacks really are black. This is all thanks to Panasonics Viera engine buried deep within the TV.
Connectivity is brilliant with 3 x scart, 2 x HDMI, 1 x PC, 1 x component. I have 2 digiboxes (1 SD...

lg 60pc45
Review of LG 60 PC 45 by
chas000
Advantages: the xd engine and hd support
Disadvantages: none
...I bought this television 6 months ago of the currys website for £1920 and i have not regretted one single penny that i spent on it. First of all i must say that any 60 inch television will be rather impressive but this television takes your viewing experience to a whole new level, along with the 100hz processing technoilogy and the hd ready technology this television will play all your games consoles again like no other television. eg. the xbox 360's highest processing speed needed to play the top end games is 60 hz (basically this is how many times the screen flickers every second) but this telly will do a whopping 100hz which is amongst the fastest televisions on the market, this is quite astounding as the larger the television usually the processing speed is lower as a result but this is certainly not the case as regards...

WinTV-PVR-Digital TV and video on your PC.
Review of Hauppauge WinTV PVR-USB by
blackbeard
Advantages: Ecellent picture quality & ease of use
Disadvantages: Bit pricy
...on the internet cheaper than this. I have seen it on one site for £80+ pounds sterling, with returned units being sold from around from £60+.
Considering the Video Capture unit I was about to buy would have cost me £80, and my existing internal TV card cost me around £30 a few years ago, I did feel it was a reasonable purchase.
I have to say I am impressed with the quality of TV image I receive, it is far superior to what I have been used to from my existing internal card, and I now have an encoder to allow me to capture my old camcorder videos too.
The unit is made by Hauppauge and is called WinTV, PVR2, personal video recorder.

Fabulous TV
Review of Panasonic TH-42PX60E by
silverfox357
Advantages: Brilliant picture
Disadvantages: slight blurring when letters move very fast, horizontaly across screen
...will discover in the picture menu four different viewing modes - Dynamic, Normal, Cinema and Auto with Normal being the default, as you would expect. Within these settings you can change the contrast, brightness, colour and sharpness. The N button on the remote control will return any changes to the original setting.
And it is very advisable to make some changes. All plasma screens will last longer if the contrast and brightness is not set too high. This is particularly important in the first 200 hours of use. Plasmas had a reputation of not lasting as long as LCDs but the differential has narrowed considerably with this TV having a half life of 60,000 hours which is a lot more than a cathode ray tube TV can manage.
Anyway, intially you should select the Normal viewing mode and move the contrast from the default setting of 100% to 50%. Like...
