Here they're counting down songs, obviously decided by them, and they actually include old songs that people wouldn't nessacarilly be able to request. I've seen Anastacia and Bon Jovi in this chart run-down already, not to mention the amount of songs that are before my time. Don't think this means The Hits is a good channel for the older viewers though, because you'll be disappointed. Just like pretty much all the other channels on Sky, you're not free from advertising and you will find the adverts are typically aimed at who would be watching the channel - adverts for spot treatments and the like. TV licence gives us a channel that we all contribute to

Advantages: No adverts. Quality programming. Reliable source of income for BBC
Disadvantages: Old-fashioned system. Effectively a tax. BBC not optional.

People who complain would no longer be able to complain because they could buy a TV without a licence and access all channels other than the BBC ones. Most Britons enjoy watching the BBC, so most would pay for a BBC subscription. I don't think the money should go to anyone other than the BBC because commercial broadcasters such as ITV1 and Channel 4 can fend for themselves. A BBC subscription could be accessed in multiple ways, making it easier than a TV licence, which requires everyone to sign up through the TVL. People with Sky and Virgin Media could add the BBC package alongside their other packages and have it all under one umbrella - a system with which people are familiar. Advantages: Great music

...I'm an individual who enjoys a good bit of music. Any genre will generally do if it's 'good' - by that I mean not some terrible cheesy pop song, but generally I'll stick to my indie/rock malarkey. So it's ideal then that the New Music Express has introduced their own TV station - NME TV... Operated by CSC Media Group, it replaced the music channel 'Minx' in November 2007 - which is odd as I believe Minx was more a pop music channel that indie. The music channel - for skint people

Go me!! **What is it?** For those that don't know, and most won't, The Hits is a TV channel available on freeview (and probably sky and cable, but I'm not that rich). The main gist of it is that it is a music video type channel, basically the bettabuy version of MTV, for cheapskates if you will. It has music videos playing constantly 24/7 spliced with the odd commercial. What makes it different to other music channels i know of, is that the viewers get a choice of what they play. A phone number is displayed in the top right hand corner of the screen (which is premium rate btw, thats how they make their dosh). ...Theres no doubt Channel Four were the Zeitgeist of TV channels in the 1980s and where the kids would weld their TV knobs. In fact when the red triangle appeared in the top corner they would be twidling their knobs all night! The red triangle, if you didn't know, meant fairley uncensored naughty and nudityt and we loved it! Taping Russ Meyer movies shown at 3:30 on Satruday morning (famous for their fabulous big breasted gals) was what it was all about back then if you were a red-blooded young male! The closest thing I can compare it to is a Y2000 mixture of Beadles About and You’ve been framed without Jeremy Beadle (always a bonus). abc1 tv channel

Advantages: always a good comedy show
Disadvantages: finishes at 6pm

...abc1 tv channel - channel 15 on digibox I have had a digi box now for a good year maybe even a bit longer than that. There are still people in my area that cant have these boxes due to the fact of bad signal but i have never had any problems with mince since i bought it. one of the best channels i found has got the be this abc1. It can be found on channel 15 on my digibox which i persume is the same for everyone elses box. The channel is on from 6am to 6pm. This is the only draw back becuase the abc1 channel on sky i think stays on till late into the night but on the digi box the channel cuts off at six o clock. I like this channel mainly becuase there are lots of american comedy shows shown on it. Trigger Happy TV Is It All Over

Advantages: Hilarious Sketches an excellent 30 minutes!
