Excellent value TV and Video combi
Review of LG KE-14U73 TV / Video Combi by
elmhurstgb
Advantages: Good quality at a reasonable price
Disadvantages: Not a top name
...Looking for an extra TV for the bedroom? Well, if you want a low cost 14” set that comes complete with a built in video then why not consider the latest offering from LG? The LG KE-14U73 is a TV / VCR combination that must be the amongst the best value combis around. At a price of little more than £130 you would have every right to expect a poor picture and tinny sound, however, the LG surprises and delights.
Although not a flat screen the picture is good quality and certainly as good as some of the more pricey models. The TV is easy to set up, the on-screen menus are clear and easy to follow and, if you use the auto tuning facility you can be up and running in around 2 minutes. The TV has a scart socket so if you have a DVD or a sky digi box you can connect it up.
The video is already programmed up, all that remains...

BUSH 27" WIDESCREEN LCD TV
Review of Bush LCD27TV005 by
kismet
Advantages: nice flat screen, sharp clear picture
Disadvantages: can the cat knock it over? not hd ready?
...this end of line 27" widescreen lcd flat television and just had to buy it. The only trouble was, that being end of line meant that you could not order it for delivery, so I did a search of all my local stores until I found one and we reserved it for collection the next day.
My husband came home with the tv, we unpacked it and installed it so easily, it was a dream.
The Techinical description of this television in the Argos catalogue is Bush LCD27TV005 27in Widescreen LCD TV.
The Argos order number is: 529/2150 and we paid £399.99. From what I have read online, this television was retailing at around £600 originially, but at the moment, all of the LCD televisions seem to be 26 or 30/32 inches, so it looks like they are phasing out the 27" ones.
The television is silver in colour and the speakers are each end of the television...

Bush LCD23TV004 - Affordable space saver
Review of Bush LCD23TV004 by
NinaE
Advantages: affordable, good picture quality, easy setup, wall mountable
Disadvantages: only 1 scart socket, tinny sound quality
...Due to the lack of reviews on this TV, I decided to write one myself. Maybe a bad idea because I have never written a review about a TV, but considering what is out there so far ( I couldn't really find any information on it before I bought it) , it will hopefully be of help to some of you.
Lets start at the beginning. With prices of LCD TVs coming down, I decided to get rid of my bulky TV in the bedroom and find myself a nice flat wall mountable LCD. This was mainly due to lack of space, we all know how small english houses can be. After much research, I stumbled onto this one, and the price was too tempting to miss. I bought it for £399.99 at QED-UK, by far the cheapest, Argos has it on sale for just under £500 right now. It was delivered the following day in a very sturdy box and securely packed. At the same time, I bought a VESA...

Venturing into the world of budget LCD televisions
Review of Bush LCD 26 TV 016 HD by
Mainflava
Advantages: Easy to tune; clear, high quality picture, good sound
Disadvantages: None that I can see so far
....
Screen size......
Having looked at a number of flat panel TVs with screen sizes ranging from 15 to 32 inches, I decided to upgrade my normal screen size from 15 inches to 26 inches in order to provide that home cinema feel in a relatively small room. While large screens were also appealing, a combination of a tight budget (see above) and a small room with which the set would be located, forced my hand into the sub 32 inch category.
Bush LCD 26 inch TV
Eventually, after much searching, I stumbled across the above televison on offer for a shade over £300 including delivery - well inside my projected budget. On receipt of the television, I was suprised at just how light it was; weighing in at less than 17 kg meant that should I need to wall mount the unit, I could get away with much cheaper brackets and, I could even contemplate the tilt...

Philips 30" LCD Television
Review of Philips 170B2M LCD Televisions by
lona
Advantages: Brilliant picture and outstanding appearance
Disadvantages: No assurance on how long it will last
...asked how long an LCD screen could be expected to last, the customer service person said it was unknown as they are just newly out on the market.
As Philips themselves do not know the expectancy of this model I have decided not to accept a replacement and have gone for a convential widescreen telelvision until the LCD models are more fully tested.
This is only my personal view on this particular model and although I could have been just unlucky I would advise anyone who might be thinking of buying this Philips 30" LCD to ask as many questions regarding their durability as I don't think anyone knows and time will tell as to how they will stand up to regular use.
I will be sorry to see it go as I was so impressed with the quality of the picture but at the end of the day, I did not want to have a television that had...

Casio TV-970 LCD TV Review
Review of Casio TV 970 LCD by
sunny_boy
Advantages: Portable, durable and nice design
Disadvantages: In-built speakers drain battery power
...Well, how can I describe this mini TV in one word? Brilliant. I went to get my post one morning and found a package on the floor. I'd won this little beauty. I've had it now for around 4 months and love it.
The 2.3" LCD screen is very clear and the colours are very vivid, even on a less that great signal. It provides a sleek design of silver and wavy lines with clear labels for all 5 buttons and notches.
The stand at the back comes out and allows it to sit on your desk at just the right angle without slipping. I've left it on my desk before and it's a nice little addition when the power cuts out and your other TVs don't work.
The in-built speaker is very powerful and can become quite loud, which is excellent except for the fact that it seems to drain the batteries pretty quickly. This can be averted by plugging in some...

Let's sing the praises of Samsung LCD TV
Review of Samsung LE32R51BD 32" LCD TV by
mikefnw75
Advantages: Saves space, good picture, built in freeview
Disadvantages: HD broadcasts not out yet, need a HD ready DVD player too
...apparent thiness. I particularly like the Samsung as it is framed in black ( see picture above ) and I think this gives it a sleek, stylish look.
My boss informed me once ( he is full of pearls of wisdom) that a LCD tv is equally popular with husbands and wives. His reasoning is that men like all the gadgets that come with it ( and there are many like picture in picture, different screen sizes etc) while women like the extra space it affords the sitting room. To be honest I like the extra space it affords our room. Furthermore as a parent I'm glad that neither of my sons can lick the television screens any more when their favourite characters come on ( the things they learn from their mother!). It also means they have to watch the television from a certain distance which is obvouisly benefical to their mince pies!

A cool 32 inch Samsung LCD TV
Review of Samsung LE32R74BDX 32" HD Ready LCD TV by
ciaoauthor
Advantages: Fantastic picture quality, nice sound, ease of use and a good looking TV
Disadvantages: One HDMI
...If quality and style is what you are looking for then the Samsung LE32R74BDX 32" HD is the TV for you. This screen is one of the better looking on the market and looks great both on the side with the supplied stand or mounted on the wall (wall mount not supplied). The picture quality is phenomenal. The TV has DNIe (Digital Natural Image engine) which helps to 'step up' the inputted source. This means a great quality pictures even from my DVD player connected through one of the two scart sockets and from the built in freeview receiver. This negates the need to update a DVD player for one with a HDMI connection. The screen produces up to 12.8 billion colours and has a contrast ratio of 5000:1 giving great definition between light and dark. In fact the two main disadvantages with LCD TV's have been solved with this screen...

richooooo
Advantages: Cheap.hdready,small
Disadvantages: no freeview built in,pip dont work
...I bought this tv off Ebay it was used but in good condition i paid £220 for it.I love the design of it with the speakers on the side nice silver look.
The tv has vga port,dvi,hdmi,2 scart sockets, pc audio and svideo.the things that this tv is really lacking is built in freeview would make it a lot better,USB or memory card ports i have seen these on many new tvs if this was available on thiis tv model maybe more people would be interested in it.The TV is also missing digital audio out but i wouldnt really use that anyway.
This nice small tv handles the playstation 3 on 720p perfect looks sweet better than my last tv.the colours look so rich and the sound is very good quality.the speakers can go very loud and they never make that noise when speakers cant handle it any louder.
the buttons for the TV are placed on the right side...

Only LCDeeee TeeVee for Meeeee!
Review of Philips 15" LCD TV (15PF7846) by
sallysmith1973
Advantages: Good quality picture & sound, solid and well made feel.
Disadvantages: None as yet.
...? Anyway, I logged on and searched for this particular model we'd taken a fancy to, a 14" Philips LCD. After several hours of searching and comparing a few other models/prices/specifications etc. we actually found a slightly larger Philips 15" LCD for the same price as the 14" that we had seen in the shop! The price was £229 with free delivery from Amazon and was in stock, and it said it could be dispatched within a few days. Good enough we thought, so we ordered it. Well, it turned up within a couple of days (tremendous service from Amazon as ever) as promised, and I must say, I'm completely and utterly chuffed to bits with it! Enough of the waffle - get on with the review!
It arrived in a rather flat compact box, and was very well packed with the usual polystyrene etc. It came with a power lead, FM aerial lead (as the TV can also be used...
