...As mentioned in my review of the Wii Nunchuck I have had my Wii for a few weeks but haven?t had chance to review it so am starting with the peripherals. The Wii uses wireless controllers (it was the first games console to do this) that communicate with the main console via bluetooth. Unfortunately the Wii only comes with a single controller and as the main fun with the Wii comes from playing against friends and family I immediately purchased a second controller for £29.99 (it is hard to find them cheap anywhere on line or the high street). The controller is white plastic (the same as the Wii itself) styled like a small TV remote and is solidly made and feels even more so when the 2 AA batteries are put in. Great remote at a low price

Advantages: Does everything you could want
Disadvantages: Small screen makes finding options difficult

...This is an absolutely great remote given it's cost. I used to have an One for All Kameleon which cost a lot more money than this. Setup was very very easy using the Software given and within 30 minutes I had a remote control which did exactly what I wanted. I use this to control my TV, Amplifier, BluRay DVD, Xbox 360 and Virgin Media Box. Every function of each device is catered for on the remote and the ability for the remote to transmit to more than 1 device at a time without having to switch any settings on it is fantastic. There are a couple of downsides to this remote. The first is the screen is very small in comparison to some others and scrolling through the pages to get to some of the more unique features of a device can be a pain, but overall this is great and well worth the investment...

...shiny finish, this can make the controllers slippery if you are playing for long periods and your hands begin to sweat. However using the wrist straps that are provided will prevent dropping the remotes onto the floor. The remotes are not particularly easy to use for a novice, they do take a bit of getting used to. The controls obviously depend on the game that you are playing. With an optimum setup the controllers work extremely well. It is quite tough to play certain games on a small tv screen however that is an issue for another review. The range of use is good i can operate mine from the other side of the room. This is handy as the games do require a fair amount of room to play, especially if there are four people playing! The manual that is supplied with a incredibly detailed manual that is very thourgh in its explanation...

Advantages: Control many devices using Infrared - easy to setup
Disadvantages: Can't control bluetooth or FM devices

...The Logitech Harmony 525 Advanced Universal Remote is used to control multiple devices in audio and visual systems (ie your tv, video, digital box, music players etc) Currently we use one to control an AV receiver, digital box and projector. Personally i think this is the best one i've used. Although initially to set up takes a bit of time (you have to load a program onto a computer and then add devices to the remote using the provided usb cable), the time it saves in day to day use and the practicality of one remote makes it a worthwhile task. If there is not a system listed that you want to control it has a neat feature which allow you to add other 'unknown' remote signals - its so easy - you just tell it you're going to add an 'unknown' and then point the 'unknown' systems remote at the logitech remote and it asks...

Remote Control replaces TV Remote

...Wii remotes are wonderful! I find they give a unique console gaming experience that is not available with other console controllers. The great thing about the Wii remote is that it gives you a wireless gaming experience allowing you more freedom to move around whilst playing, and really get in to the movement and action in the game. I would be absolutely gutted if I smashed our beloved flat screen but fortunately I shouldn't have this problem. The Wii remote jacket is basically a silicone outer that fits snugly over the remote. It gives your hand a much better grip on the remote while you play games and stops the silly accidents that have happened in the past.
