...'The TV show', is in a sense Channel 4's answer to 'Points of View'. It's on monthly, on channel4 and addresses viewers opinions regarding what has been on television that month, and any complaints that have derived from viewing. It is presented by Channel4 news presenter, Krishnan Guru-Murthy, and the show is handled in more of chat show debate forum (Trisha style) rather than reading out letters a la Terry Wogan on POV. They often invite producers (or other relevant people) of whichever shows have created controversy that month. For example, this month they had one of the executive producers of Big Brother, plus a psychologist debating whether or not the show has run it's course, whether or not they were taking away the rights of the viewer by removing housemates before they had chance to vote people off, and whether or not it...

I find opinions like this much easier to write because I can use my imagination more to reminisce about my favourite kids? television. I believe that over the last so many years we have seen a major decline in the quality of childrens television shows, from having programmes that both taught and entertained children to programmes that patronise them with silly characters that talk to them like they are extremely inferior. When Kid's Shows Made You Think

...After last week reminiscing about my childhood I started thinking of television shows that I had enjoyed as a child. I also got the opportunity to see some of them again, and in comparison to the kids programmes of today I think IQ's must have taken a massive drop. Yesterday while waiting in for the boiler to be repaired (it wasn't) I had the misfortune to watch children's television; I have never been more horrified in my life. It's just plain awful! ...My favourite children?s programs? The ones I remember is probably more accurate, so, in no particular order, here goes. Chorlton and the Wheelies Basically Cholton the dragon frees wheelie world from the grip of Fenella the Kettle Witch?s spell. He a loveable thing, and Fenelle (welsh I?m sure) wants him out of the way so she can rule again. He likes her and refers to her as ?little old lady? and seem immune to her spells. I used to be glued to this, and would probably watch it again today (available on DVD now). ...the show very well. The episode of his death was very well written and highly emotional. I don't really cry at events in TV, but because of the great storyline and the actors superb handling of the death my eyes became full of tears. Bridget is your average pretty dumb blonde. She gets all the guys and invites to all the parties to her sister Kerry's displeasure. She knows she has good looks and uses them to get through everyday life. Kerry, on the other hand, is the moody "my life is unfair" middle child who every forgets about. She hates how Bridget gets by on her looks and thinks that just because she has Red hair doesn?t make her any different. ...This review brings back so many memories, i love watching the re-runs of some of them and glad that some have been updated for today's children. As a child i don't think i watched too much TV, i was mostly out doors climbing trees, building stuff. Anyway here is my top ten children's programmes: 1. Clangers - My mum loved this as a child and it keeps coming back again and again. I watched this a lot as a child, mostly re-runs. Why it held my attention i don't know but it was so good. My husband is also a fan and we have 3 clangers who live in our bedroom. 2. Fraggle Rock - Bring it back, oh i just loved this and when the theme tune came on i was glued. my favourite kids shows

Advantages: time to remember those good old days
Disadvantages: in my opinion - none

...found a bit scary Bungle. Not forgetting their 'Dad' Geoffry. Each episode we would hear about their adventures....in fact I have just bought the DVD!!! But anyway, we would have Zippy, the cheeky yellow chappie always getting into some kind of mischeif. Then there was George, shounding slighly camp, pretty sensible and then boring old Bunglebonce! Rainbow ran from 1976-1992 and was one of the highlights of the evening as every kid rushed home I'm sure! I'm not gonna ramble on about this one as it would ruin it and everyone knows what rainbows all about, I have s seperate op on it if you really want to see it. Well there we go, my favourite kids tv shows. Much better than the teletubbie and tweenies - I'm sure you'll agree. hope it's brought back a few memories for a few of it certainly has me!
