Orange SPV M3100 - worth a good look
Review of Orange SPV M3100 by
cybersavvy22
Advantages: screen estate, connectivity, touchscreen
Disadvantages: bluetooth settings, slow changing between apps
...Got this on contract with Orange. Mostly, it has been a good phone, offering all the smartphone capabilities I need - wi-fi, Skype, Word, PDF etc BUT
(-) I am now on my second handset as after 8 months or so, the first one started to freeze up continuously and I couldn't make or answer phone calls, or do anything with it as all I could see was a white screen. This wasn't always solved by rebooting so it went back. The second one occasionally exhibits the same malfunction as well as being very slow to move from one application to another. I thought it might be a firmware problem as I got the phone when it was very new on the market, but with it happening with the second handset too, I'm not so sure it has been resolved. Another minus is that it seems very difficult to change the default settings for bluetoothed files eg they go...

A bussiness/gadget persons dream
Review of Orange SPV M3100 by
TruthBeKnown
Advantages: Phone, PDA with keyboard, Camera, Camcorder, SatNav capable, Wifi, Touchscreen, MP3 Player, Video Call…
Disadvantages: The name is boring
...Intro:
This ‘multi-vice’ (my name for this device of multiple features) is so good and puts so many other devices to shame it should be in breach of EC market competition; if more people knew about it they would dump there regular mobile phones in an instant.
I can not praise this device enough it is a gift for anyone who hates txting on normal mobiles and that is only the first great thing about this device.
In Brief:
The M3100 has a sliding QWERTY keyboard, a jog wheel, a pull out stylus, and a 2.8" touchscreen LCD.
The M3100 utilises a Microsoft Windows Mobile software suite. The device incorperates Bluetooth Technology, pocket office – word, excell…, internet explorer, email access, 64MB internal memory, an MP3 Player, and WiFi, Bluetooth and infrared.
The M3100 has two cameras. One 2.0 MP camera is on the back...

Top PDA!
Review of Orange SPV M3100 by
amartin13
Advantages: WIFI, External Memory Slot, Full Keyboard
Disadvantages: Internet button is easily pressed...
...I've been using the SPV range of phones and PDA's since the original was launched by orange.
They are all made by the same Thaiwanese company, and the specs and quality have just gotten better with every new release.
The M3100 is roughly the same size as it's predecessor the M500, but somehow they've managed to cram a full keyboard into the design too. Boasting a 400mhz Processor and 64 MB of Ram, it offers more than enough umph to run the most demanding pocket PC applications.
Orange have tinkered with the design of the home screen, which is a vast improvement on the built in windows layout, your main program categories have been moved to the side of the screen, so you can access most of the important features on the phone within 2 button presses using the jog dial.
The phone performs very well, and voice quality has...

Palm 750
Review of Palm Treo 750v by
davidian_a
Advantages: Looks and feels good
Disadvantages: No wireless, Non-standard USB connector, Small screen, Slow
...I was looking forward to this handset. Moving away from my 6 months old SPV M3100 I was expecting an upgrade, but it's not.
First disappointment was finding out the lack of built in WiFi. I've been stuck in enough airports and coffee shops to know how useful a wireless connection would be, especially if you play with skype.
Then it was time to connect the handset to my PC... Rather than using a standard USB cables which would fit my cameras, my other mobiles, my external USB disk, etc... etc... etc..., Palm seem to have decided to cash in on the replacement cable market. For me it's yet another cable to carry around and yet another cable to have left at the office when I need it at home and vice versa.
It was painful moving from my old M5000 to the M3100, only purely because of the screen size that I was about to lose out on; I...

M3500 Best Pda Phone Yet
Review of Orange SPV M3100 by
whackstar
Advantages: A good size Pda Phone
Disadvantages: Using the phone part can be tricky!
...improved and you can even see who's calling you (M5000 you had to lift the screen first). But making calls on the phone needs to be refined as the on screen dialer isn't the best bit of software. Still feels like a pda with a phone tacked onto it.
If you want a phone and a pda in one! This is a leap ahead! However, i do have my eye on the new iphone from apple....

Touch and Go
Review of HTC Touch Dual by
phensh
Advantages: EXcellent features and performance
Disadvantages: No Wi-Fi
...purely on the touch screen for inputting. However the touch dual comes with a keyboard that is accessed by sliding the top half of the unit upwards (similar in design to the orange spv m3100).
I have used the keyboard when writing big messages and browsing the internet and the design is excellent allowing for easy use. It is comfortable to use and the buttons feel firm when pressed giving a positive feeling of build quality. I do however use the touch screen for about 80% of the time.
The touch screen is powered by HTC's Touchflo technology (very similar to the technology used on the apple iphone). You simply drag your finger around the screen which will allow you to flip and rotate the items on the screen. The feature is very responsive and you will learn to master it very quickly.
As with all windows products you get an impressive range...

...This phone has been hyped by phone enthusiasts ever since it was announced by HTC. This phone has been rebranded by the UK's leading network operators as follows:

The reason why this phone was so much anticipated by phone enthusiasts is simply due to its specifications. Have a look:
