Fantastic game

Advantages: Cheap, many different modes of playing
Disadvantages: None in my opinion

...I bought this game a few weeks back, while looking for a good cheap game to amuse me over the summer. As the ashes were about to begin, I went for a cricket game. I payed a very small price for the fun the game provided. I was not dissapointed and have regularly played the game since. The game is based upon the ashes tournament, that is staged every two years between England and Australia. This is only one of many features as you can play a range of games, from test matches to the more popular twenty20 games. You can play with either a county team or a national team making it possible to be a huge range of teams. I found the game very thrilling and spent many hours on it, enjoying each and every one of them, (even when I got beat lol) I would recommend this game to all you cricket fanatics out there. The best low calorie coke variant around!!!

...on at the moment because they are sponsoring the up coming twenty20 world cup, they are running a competition using codes from either the ring pulls from cans or behind the wrapper for the bottles. Winner gets 10000 a day if successful, they are also giving away 1000 for every six hit during the tournament. I prefer pepsi max but its available in far fewer stores than coke zero, they need to improve their bottle design but the drink is far superior....

Not much in the market of Cricket Management

Advantages: Cricket!
Disadvantages: Poor Highlights, Inaccuracies, Limited appeal

...I don't like cricket, I love it! When it comes to football management games there are a plethora available in all formats - in the modern day everyone wants to be the next Jose Mourinho or Alex Ferguson. Yet despite the recent rise in popularity of cricket in the UK (owed much to the Ashes win in 2005 and the advent of Twenty20) it is still difficult to find good quality cricket management games or in fact, any at all. The ICC series of games have been churned out with regularity and really have stood on their own, unopposed. Whether this is because nobody wants to play cricket management/captaincy games or whether the developers struggle to reach the right formula is anybodys guess really I suppose. Having bought the original ICC game in 2000, I felt that it was time to see if the game had evolved much after all these years...

Penguins Should Have Stopped the Writing, Too!

Advantages: A beautifully written ending
Disadvantages: Pretty much everything that went before it

...'s success in the quicker Twenty 20 form of the game in recent years, the longer version bores me and I can't trust any game which can last for 5 days and still end up with no winner. All this aside, I am a sports fan generally and I do like reading the kinds of books that supposedly give true stories of people's amusing exploits. These sorts of books can be a bit hit and miss, though and whilst I've generally enjoyed the works of Danny Wallace and Dave Gorman, Tony Hawks' latest didn't match up to his earlier offerings and I've found very little to either amuse or entertain in the works of Tim Moore. Sadly, "Penguins Stopped Play" falls into this latter category for me. Brian Lara vs EA cricket - definately EA

Advantages: Loads of game modes, more realistic play
Disadvantages: Not all names are correct, takes time to get used to the gameplay

...or Australian domestic team and play all or one of of the tropheys in the current season This includes the Twenty20 cup and the KFC Twenty20 big bash. -Nets - Vital for all starters to get used to the game, especially if you have played a different cricket game previously. This is a brilliant game but could still do with some improvement which they will hopefully do for the 08 version. If you are trying to decide between this the i would suggest this as the quality provided by EA is clear to see so any level of player can enjoy it....

Mercurial talent

Advantages: Talented, Lots of players to choose from
Disadvantages: Lack of consistency and mental strength in big tournaments

In the first ever Twenty20 World cup Misbah came out of the shadows and showed the world what he can really do. Misbah accumulates runs well early in his innings then when required he explodes into an utra-aggressive mode and there is no ground big enough when he hits the middle of the bat. Kamran Akmal gets the nod as wicket-keeper batsmen for me, simply because of a lack of real alternatives. Humayun Farhat would be perfect in the role in my opinion but his ICL ties have cut off that option. Akmal is an extremely talented batsmen that is frustratingly incapable of consistency. His glovework is ok but is not really that of a top class player. On his day, he is a real match-winner however. Shahid Afridi is a blockbuster player that everyone...

A good-ish cricket simulation

Advantages: Well its cricket, quite fun to play, especially the bowling aspect
Disadvantages: Batting is incredibly difficult. Some bugs in the gameplay and commentary
