DVD player for girls with a passion for fashion
Advantages: remote, nice design, portable
Disadvantages: battery pack is a bit bulky
...I am sure anyone with a similar aged daughter to mine (9 on Sunday) will have had exactly the same situation as me last Christmas. My daughter came to me with an Argos book in one hand and one hell of a shopping list in the other! When we added it all up, it came to about £700 (and she's good at maths so I think she was pushing things a little there!). We whittled it down a bit (!) and it still left her spoilt rotten. Now, I had really good intentions to stick at that list... but it didn't happen!
Most of you will have seen the many Argos adverts prior to Christmas with the half price offers. I caught the end of one and saw this Bratz portable DVD player in the pile of toys shown on the advert so went online for a look. I had been considering buying it since my friend bought it her daughter for a birthday present and told me...

Brilliant portable DVD player
Advantages: Looks great, plays great, lots of accessories, multiregion
Disadvantages: no free headphones
...I frequently travel on the train for 3 hour journeys each way so I wanted a portable DVD player to stop me being bored rigid. I happily chose the Shinco 1731A portable DVD player for the following reasons
1) The seven inch model was small, easily portable but the colour ActiveMatrix TFT screen didn't seem too small when watching films on the train. THe screen also has a 400:1 contrast ratio giving really clear pictures.
2) I wanted a multiregion portable DVD player so I could use all formats (1-6). This DVD player also plays other formats, including DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD+RW, CD, CD-R, CD-RW, MP3, JPEG and Kodak Picture CD. The Shinco also has multi language/angle/subtitle capability, zoom play and programmable play and comes with a tiny remote control.
3) I wanted a portable DVD player that I could use with my TV set at home or in...

Twins
Advantages: good entertaining movie
Disadvantages: none really...???
...Director and Producer: Ivan Reitman
Writers: William Davies, Timothy Harris, William Osborne and Herschel Weingrod Stars: Arnold Schwarzenegger, Danny DeVito, Kelly Preston, Chloe Webb, Bonnie Bartlet and Tony Jay.
Released in late 1988 this great comedy involved the very questionable twins, Julius and Vincent Benedict, who were separated at birth then reunited years later.
Apparently, only there mother can tell them apart???
**BRIEF PLOT**
With Julius Benedict, (played by the rather large Arnold Schwarzenegger) being brought up on a picturesque island miles from normal life, he has grown into a calm and tranquil type of person.
His life soon turns upside down when he is told that he has a twin brother called Vincent, (played by Danny DeVito), who is living somewhere in L.A. so with this information Julius sets out to...

The Twin's Adventures on DVD
Advantages: Very entertaining
Disadvantages: Not totally true to the books, no bonus features
...SWEET VALLEY
I am an avid fan of the Sweet Valley series and when I heard about the DVD edition, I wanted to watch them immediately! For those who are not familiar with the series, Sweet Valley is a set of series based on two Californian twins. Produced by Francine Pascal, the series are divided into three categories: Sweet Valley Twins series, Sweet Valley High series and Sweet Valley universities. All three categories follow the lives of the two twins Jessica and Elizabeth Wakefield, as well as the lives of their friends and family in general. The series have got quite a positive response from audiences and readers, mainly because of the fact that there is whole imaginary world that have been created for the entertainment of so many.
The Sweet Valley High DVD is quite simply a compilation of the Sweet Valley High episodes. If...

Panasonic Portable DVD player Review.
Advantages: Great if you work away.
Disadvantages: Battery life
...The Panasonic LS80-K is quit a stylish little portable DVD player with its black interior and silver housing this looks the business. And not only does it look the business but it is and I can gladly say that the Panasonic LS80-K portable DVD player also delivers. Perfect for those who live on the move a lot such as contract workers or truck drivers. But you don't have to live on the move to appreciate owning one of these I for instance have used it on many occasions when on long fishing or camping trips. I must admit that not all my fishing trips are packed with activity so this is good to keep you entertained.
Some of the main features include an 8.5 inch LCD screen, with DVD player which can play DVD-R, DVD+RW, DVD+R, DVD-RAM. The Panasonic LS80-K will also play all of your DivX films as well as JPEG, VCD and most other media...

Technika MP-308 4GB MP3 player with FM tuner
Advantages: Wide range of features
Disadvantages: Difficult to navagate menus
...The MP-308 is Tesco?s current top of the range mini MP3 player with FM radio, and at 3p shy of £30 places it firmly in the budget end of the market.
Having very recently ?goosed? my previous player doing a firmware upgrade, I got mine as an impulse purchase.
It?s small ? about the same size as a lighter, and has a rechargeable battery, so running costs are minimal.
You get everything you need; the player, a USB lead, a pair of cheap headphones, and a set of paper instructions and a mini-CD.
In fact if you?ve previously owned an MP3 player, you can probably dispense with the last two items, the player supports traditional ?drag?n?drop? from your ?my music? folder.
The instructions suggest that it?s far better to use the application which comes with the machine, that way you can make playlists, catalogue your albums and so...

The Best Portable DVD Player For This Price!
Advantages: Great picture, Good audio, Nice to look at.
Disadvantages: Sound cannot go as high as some other portable DVD players.
...Introduction
=
I would like to start this review by stating why I chose to buy this product instead of the many other portable DVD players that I could have bought. The first reason was simply the price. This was the cheapest Portable DVD player that I could find at my local Electronics store. You must understand that I do not travel all that often so I just wanted a cheap portable DVD player so that I would not get bored during any long journeys that I would encounter by Train or Car during the summer. To put it simply if I did not have this device when I was travelling I would have been incredibly bored. Portable DVD players become lifesavers on long journeys.
This machine was also useful for those times when I just fancied lying back on my bed and watching a film. Even though my TV with DVD player was just feet away, I...

Passion for fashion
Advantages: Popular brand dvd player which is simple to use
Disadvantages: small screen
...we don?t have to listen to whatever it is she is watching, but can let her get on with it.
For me, the screen is too small, but she seems to find it just right, although I wouldn?t recommend it for prolonged periods of viewing. The sound quality from the built in speaker is good, and it can be attached to the television to play dvds. This was actually a bonus for us when our own dvd player was broken; we simply plugged this in, and had the film showing on a small and large screen?very weird!
All in all, I would recommend this for any fans of Bratz who may feel they have the need for a fully portable and cool to carry around dvd player.
Thanks for reading.

Sony PSP
Advantages: Great portable media player. Ideal for Games & Movies
Disadvantages: Not so good as an MP3 player as a little bulky.
...This is an ideal portable console/MP3 Player and MP4 Player for all. Since having the PSP I no longer find myself bored whilst on the train to work. I generally use it for gaming and watching movies. The gameplay/graphics are awesome for such a small device. The added bonus of the PSP is that you can switch it off and when you switch it back on again it allows you to play where you left off even if this is half way through a football match.
As for movie capability, this is straight forward. As long as you have a large enough memory card, you can load MP4 files and watch movies on the go with the PSP.
I don't really use the PSP as an MP3 player as it's a little too bulky for the pocket. I don't think this is the main benefit of the PSP but the option's there.
I would recommend this to anyone who's travelling a lot and it...

Philips PET 716 Portable DVD Player
Advantages: Sleek, modern design, good quality screen and speakers
Disadvantages: Battery life of just over 2 hours
...A sleek but sturdy portable DVD player with up to 2 hours of battery life, good quality screen and speakers and mobile functionality. Recommended.
Appearance
The DVD player is very compact and attractive. It has a white outer shell and a black interior fascia. There is a flip up drawer on the bottom half where you put the DVDs in, which is opened by sliding the button on the front panel. It is smart and modern enough to be confident to use it on the train or in public generally.
Price
I paid £70.00 for the player a few months ago, but I strongly advise other to shop around as I understand it can not be bought for around £50.00. It is well worth either price in my opinion.
Operation
The buttons on the player itself provide rather limited functionality: Play, Pause, Skip, Forward, Rewind, Stop, Menu and AV Out/DVD. It is...
