...I frequently travel on the train for 3 hour journeys each way so I wanted a portable DVD player to stop me being bored rigid. I happily chose the Shinco 1731A portable DVD player for the following reasons 1) The seven inch model was small, easily portable but the colour ActiveMatrix TFT screen didn't seem too small when watching films on the train. THe screen also has a 400:1 contrast ratio giving really clear pictures. 2) I wanted a multiregion portable DVD player so I could use all formats (1-6). This DVD player also plays other formats, including DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD+RW, CD, CD-R, CD-RW, MP3, JPEG and Kodak Picture CD. ...we don?t have to listen to whatever it is she is watching, but can let her get on with it. For me, the screen is too small, but she seems to find it just right, although I wouldn?t recommend it for prolonged periods of viewing. The sound quality from the built in speaker is good, and it can be attached to the television to play dvds. This was actually a bonus for us when our own dvd player was broken; we simply plugged this in, and had the film showing on a small and large screen?very weird!
