Whining about Twinings? Not me!
Review of Twinings Earl Grey Tea by
rsmith
Advantages: A good flavour; easily available in most shops
Disadvantages: too many floating stalks
...Earl Grey is my favourite tea, and it's just about the only kind of hot drink I ever bother with.
There was a time, probably around five or ten
years ago, when if you asked for it in a café or restaurant you’d get completely blank looks (as you would if you asked for black tea), but it’s
achieved a certain fame and popularity nowadays.
For anyone who doesn’t know, however, Earl Grey is a light tea, with a pale, dark golden colour, and, most importantly, with the delicate flavouring of bergamot, a citrus flavour.
It’s a flavoured tea, then, rather than a herbal tea, and the Twinings version hails from China.
It was named after Charles, the second Earl Grey, who was Prime Minister from 1830 to 1834. Even though he was a great reformer, he has become best-known for this blend of tea! Originally...

The warming "honey "of Twinings Tea.
Review of Twinings Comomile, Honey and Vanilla by
genn133423
Advantages: Caffeine-free, beautiful taste, relaxing effect.
Disadvantages: Can leave slight aftertaste
...I am very big on my herbal teas-so whenever I spot a new one by my favourite company, Twinings, I try it out.
My latest discovery is Twinings latest offering-"Camomile,Honey and Vanilla" flavour teabags.
You can pick up a box of 20 teabags(30G) from Sainsburys, or any half-decent health-food shop, for about £1-09/£1-12-price does tend to vary slightly from shop to shop.
Twinings are actually a New Zealand based company-but the product is made in the UK-at Andover in Hampshire.
For loads of info on Twinings herbal teas checkout their web-site at www.twinings.com
You may even get the chance to ask for a free sample-definitely worth a look!
Now, to the product....
The Packaging-
Twinings Camomile, honey and vanilla teabags come in a golden box that has a cute tear-down- to -open seam all around its edges...

Tea Bags - Twinings, Luxury In My Mug!
Review of Twinings Everyday Tea Bags by
grown_up_girlie
Advantages: Stress Relief In A Mug!
Disadvantages: Can be slightly higher in price!
...refreshing it was, he decided to ultimately spread the word about.
After many years, 'Tea' consumption went on to spread throughout the Chinese population. It reached into every single aspect of society and daily life (as it was back then)….. After many many years (Early 17th century) of 'Tea' spreading throughout the different continents worldwide, it hit what is now Europe, and surprisingly wasn't an instant success.
England
'Tea' was initially drunk by Royalty and wasn't actually traded in this country until 1652. The English population weren't totally convinced about this beverage to begin with - they preferred coffee. It was only after the whole 'classy stigma' that was attached to the Royals; that the English population started to drink it. It is from here that we have come to love 'Tea' with such a passion.

Terrific Tasting Twinings Tea
Review of Twinings English Breakfast Tea by
Mrs.Reef
Advantages: makes an excellent cuppa, full of flavour
Disadvantages: a bit expensive
...I love tea as much as my fellow countrymen (AND WOMEN!) and I think Twinings English Breakfast tea leaves are simply the best. Most of the time I use tea bags as they are less messy. But there are times when I crave a cup of proper tea. When I do Twinings English Breakfast tea leaves are what I use. Although it is called English Breakfast Tea it can be drunk at any time of day.
There is something about tea that is both refreshing and comforting at the same time. It isn't bitter as I find coffee to be. I drink tea frequently throughout the day. It is especially appealing when sitting around and gossiping with my best friend and neighbor who lives just a couple of doors down from me.
One of the most important components of making a proper tea from tea leaves is to have a lovely china pot for brewing. It is advisable to first...

Twinings - the sophisticated tea
Review of Twinings Darjeeling Tea by
rowei
Advantages: Excellent range and quality
Disadvantages: Lapsang Souchong
...As a regular tea drinker, I am always looking for alternatives to the usual brand makes. I recently decided to try Twinings teas, and was certainly not disappointed.
Their teas are rich and full of flavour. Ceylon, Assam, Darjeeling, Earl Grey, English Breakfast and Lapsang Souchong are available in most supermarkets, although some of the rarer teas, like Keemun and Yunnan, may be more difficult to find. All types are sold in both bag and leaf form.
PACKAGING
As you browse the shelves in the tea aisle, you are instantly enticed by the neatly stacked boxes of Twinings teas. Their sophisticated boxes seem to stand out from among the other teas. Boxes seem to have a regal quality about them. They are black with a strip of gold across the top embodying the "Twinings" logo. On the reverse of the box is a very informative "tea guide...

Twinings Coffee Blends Mellow-it truly is
Review of Twinings Coffee Blends by
suelr13
Advantages: smooth, mellow and aromatic
Disadvantages: Not widely available yet
...Wow, this coffee is really good. Twinings Coffee Blends Mellow is the one for you if you are looking for a coffee that is smooth and subtle. Personally, I hate strong coffee and have spent years trying out different blends and brands in the search for a coffee that I can drink without recoiling from the bitter taste. At last I have found one that I really enjoy and really tastes of coffee.
Twinings Coffee Blends come in four different strengths but I have only tried the Mellow variety , which is strength 2. This coffee is a subtle blend of Columbian, Kenyan and Costa Rican beans that have been roasted and ground together to give a coffee that is not only aromatic and full of flavour but is also mellow and smooth. Its delicate flavour means that you can easily finish a mug full and go back for more. I used to be a one cup...

Twin up Twinings camomile.
Review of Twinings Pure Flowers of Camomile Tea by
christina44
Advantages: Natural.caffeine-free,versatile for many conditions.Inexpensive Brand.
Disadvantages: None other than an aquired taste.
...indulgence,or at the height of summer, iced, with slices of fresh lemon.
Lovely...very refreshing and restorative on the tummy!
People suffering with allergies can find a range of creams and cosmetics with natural camomile, that are reputed to help and calm a wide range of skin complaints.
It is also found in shampoos and conditioners that call for highlights/shine.
I use Twinings camomile a lot,it helps my IBS and when I have a cold and sore throat; I add honey/lemon.This produces a soothing stress released concoction, with a darker colour to it,and if you prefer,a more palatable taste.
Though ususally,I prefer it unsweetened, and very concentrated, would you believe, but be careful not to consume this too often,as the calming properties this contains, will have the opposite effect from what you are trying to achieve!
Got sleeping problems...

TWININGS PURE PEPPERMINT TEA
Review of Twinings Pure Peppermint Teabags by
Jeser
Advantages: Greatly refreshing and good for your health
Disadvantages: None
...I always consume these regulary after a big meal and they are very pleasing.
*GOOD HEALTH BENEFITS*
They are freely available at all your local health shops, i.e Holland & Barret and many of your local supermarkets. They are very easy to make like normal tea. Pour the boiling water directly over the bag in a mug and brew for 5-6 minutes for very best results, stir and drink. They have a very cool minty refreshing taste. Not only are they great served hot but also cold over ice as a summer cooler.
They are great for settling the stomach after a big meal and are totally caffiene free.
I have also found them great sweetened with a teaspoon of honey in.
I have found Twinings peppermint great for all the above reasons.
*PACKAGING AND COST*
They come in a green leave style box saying Twinings Pure Peppermint Teabags...

Twinings Coffee Mellow (Tin)
Review of Twinings Coffee Blends by
DrBob2k8
Advantages: Smooth taste, pleasant aroma.
Disadvantages: Tastes a little to weak, comes in tin which is unneccesary.
...Twinings having 300 years tea blending experience has finally tapped into the coffee market. Personally I like their teas but I was at first a little wary of trying their coffee range however, to my initial dissapointment whilst searching for my regular brand which I found was out of stock I settled for Twinings 'Mellow' as it was the perfect opportunity to give it a try.
So I bought a tin (200g) of Twinings 'Mellow' (strengh 2). One downside I found was on reading the tin it states that it is best to store the bag once opened in a refrigerator or freezer which causes the tin to be quite pointless!. When opening the bag you initially get hit with a pleasant but quite calm aroma compared to your average coffee. I then proceeded to make the coffee and whilst it was pouring through the filter there was a pleasant but calm aroma...
